Chapter 54 Wrath Of Bloodline
Chapter 54
Rosa's POV.
The green spark with a strange hiss, like a snake.
I knew this wasn't going to go well.
I jumped backward.
Then a violent wind exploded.
Boom!
The force struck alpha Ryder in his right arm. He flew backward like a broken arrow.
Ryder!” I screamed.
Ryder crashed into the nearest wall so hard that the foundation of the house rattled. Even the pictures placed on the wall were not spared. All crashed to the ground with its frames.
“Ahh…Ahh!” The word escaped from his lips like a pregnant Luna in the labor room.
Ryder slumped to the ground, coughing, wheezing and holding his ribcage tight.
He tried to get up. He failed. He tried again but his legs denied him.
He laid with his side at the lower end of the wall. Still clutching his ribcage with the last energy in him.
Alpha Vexhood took a few steps forward with that aura. That special kind of aura that feels like I am in charge here and how there you blaspheme the gods in my presence, enveloped him.
“How dare you speak ill of the gods?” Alpha Vexhood thundered, “ How dare you speak evil against the one who kept you alive till now and knows how your tomorrow will turn out to be.”
Then I saw blood dripping from one corner of his lips, a few drops of it dropped down staining his attire.
Alpha Ryder quickly used the back of his hand and wiped some of it off.
Maybe…” alpha Ryder groaned, “ they should have left me to die. Father, please don't feed me with such garbage. What is the purpose of existing without being crowned the king of the stormfang pack.”
Another heavy strike hit Alpha Ryder again. His head swung to the back hitting the wall. Blood started dripping, this time from his right nostril. It wasn't meant to kill him, but to punish him.
He groaned massively, his body caved inward. Like a sharp arrow had pierced through his body.
“Please that is enough…” I begged Alpha Vexhood as I ran to Ryder. “You will kill him. No one would be heir to the throne.”
At this time, I didn't care what alpha Vexhood would say, nor do I care if running to help Ryder was somehow disrespectful or belittling him. I just had to, I couldn't bear it anymore.
“Let me deal with this uncultured fool.” Alpha Vexhood, replied with anger, “ I am very sure the moon goddess would replace him with a better one."
Alpha Vexhood lowered his totem. This time breathing heavily. His voice dropped, slowly, but with intent. “This would be your last warning, any future blasphemy against the holy ones . You will live to blame yourself and you know when I promise something I always make sure I put in effort to make sure it happens.”
“Save me that! that father, you can't threaten me with that. What stops you. Please go ahead!” Alpha Ryder cried out.
Alpha Vexhood who was beaming in anger was about to stretch out his totem for more torture.
“Please don't…” I quickly drifted towards him. I couldn't hold on to the totem due to the power it carries. I didn't want to get myself killed, and if I am a bit lucky, it wouldn't be nice to go back to the palace with an injury. It could raise alarms and highbrows.
I knelt down in front of Alpha Vexhood pleading. He gritted his teeth, his eyes bored into mine in anger. And vision still didn't stop there. It drifted wide to the side of the wall where alpha Ryder was groaning in pain.
“I am not going to buy that from you. You and your gods know how to manipulate your way through stuff like this, but sorry to say I am no more your victim.”
I still knelt down in front of Alpha Vexhood to pacify him not to go ahead in torturing Ryder. But still, alpha Ryder never stops talking. He was rambling like a pup denied of cookies.
“You know, how you eliminate, alpha kael, the gods weren't angry.”
The room fell into sudden silence. Though, It wasn't news among everyone that stood in the room but it shows that alpha Ryder was spitting too much.
“You know how you eliminate Knox…”
Waow! What a revelation. Never in my life have I heard of that. My thought was that Alpha Jax's father was stricken by the gods because he delayed the burnt offering Asheteroth the moon goddess instructed him to carry out. “…A ruling king and the one anointed by gods. How he died a slow but excruciating death, everyone thought it was from the gods, that he had sinned against the gods, hence gods struck him and all the … blah blah news that was circulating among the pack members.”
Alpha Vexhood's eyes widened. I looked at him from where I knelt almost right in front of him. It was like the words hit where he never expected. I knew if it was another wolf entirely, be it his or her position in the pack, such a wolf would have kissed his head goodbye from every other part of his body.
But you and I knew that your handiwork was clearly written all over his death.”
I turned to him, Ryder, that is enough.”
Alpha Ryder didn't even turn his gaze to me for a moment. He was belching everything out from his stomach like he had been waiting for this moment all this while.
“But, there sat on the throne, that bloody jax, who doesn't worship the gods or render burnt offerings like his father did… a complete novice of the ways of the gods… who shouldn't take more than a twinkle of an eye to let him meet his ancestors is taking you forever.”
Every time I see him looking overly fresh and unharmed .Who knows if he had entered into some agreement with you, and you just want to play along with me.
Alpha Jax staggered up his feet, still clutching his ribcage which had been partially
Today marks the end when I will stop playing by your rules. I want to have my destiny in my hand and it will start from now. You will be shocked by the steps I am going to start taking.”
As Alpha Ryder spoke furiously, something strange glimmered behind h
im. A tall shadow stretched across the wall but no one was standing there.
And then the shadow moved.
I gasped.
