Chapter 51 When The Gods Stir.
Chapter 51
Vexhood's POV.
I stared at the walls of the chamber. Confusion washed over me. I balled my hand into a fist and slammed against the other.
Damn!
It wasn't news anymore that that bloody jax made it. He is still alive. Turning all my effort into futility. This doesn't sound right. This is not looking good at all.
Asheteroth had been shielding him from my wrath. Varkon, my favourite of them all, had been playing with my emotions too. Who else can I turn to?
My chest burned with rage.
I sat on the couch, my regalia swishing between my legs. Meditating what could have gone wrong? What invincible power has alpha Jax possessed not to have joined his father, Knox at this time.
Even Knox, whom I knew was more spiritual and paid homage to gods regularly than his son Jax, with the snap of my fingers, I struck him down. I didn't only strike him, but struck him the way I wanted in alignment without how gods pleases.
I watched Knox die a slow but painful death in his bed. His last hours were nothing but demeaning because of his death but it didn't come early.
It's showing that I am a puppet even in the eyes of the elders. I could see it in their faces. They knew this shouldn't take me minutes to eradicate both alpha Jax and every one on my path to whatever I want to achieve.
I read their minds, it is so obvious that the trust I have in my capabilities is gradually eroding. But none had the courage to spit it out. So that lady Justina fate wouldn't befall them.
Even Ryder is becoming impatient breathing on my neck. Telling me that he wants to invade the palace and upstage Jax physically. I had to beg him to stop because the end has always been very bad for any king that thread on that path.
So who is Alpha Jax? Someone that is less of an ash and should be blown away into the air from my palm.
This has never happened like I am dreaming. I go for whoever I want and strike him down however I deem to feel like.
It's like my world spiralling out of control and if I am dreaming someone should please wake me up. But I can't give up.
I was immersed in my thoughts when Garron, one of male servants, rushed in.
He bowed his head. I didn't even pay attention. I was immersed in my thoughts.
“My lord, you have special visitors from the palace waiting?”
“Alpha Jax?” I raised my head. He should be the last person I wish to see now.
If not that it is a taboo to strike the anointed one by the gods. Jax will not work out of here alive.
“No, my lord,” He answered like he had been waiting for my reply all day, it's the Luna,
“Rosa?”
“Yes my lord.”
“Allow her to come in?” I replied.
Garron disappeared from my presence a few minutes later.
I could hear her hills clicking sharply against the floor.
Then the door creaked open.
Rosa knelt in front of me,
“You have done well, daughter of the moon goddess,”
“I don't think so, the sacred one, Mila ghost appearing to me in the dream.” Rosa uttered while still kneeling in front of me, her head tucked into the ground in a somber mood.
Behind those eyes I knew all is not well.
It has been really terrible in the past few weeks.” Rosa foundling with her hand while talking to me. She appeared to me almost every time I closed my eyes to sleep.”
“Leave Mila alone,” I uttered, "she is just a defeated snake whose head had been cut off trying to fight it last fight."
I continued, "your rightful place is the throne and to be with your fated mate, alpha Ryder. It's a divine assignment and the gods will make it come to pass.”
I snapped my fingers to one of the servants who was close by, he drifted to me, I mumbled some instructions into his ears. He left and a minute later, he came and handed over the Eclipsia pendant. It made some funny sounds and clatter between my hands.
“Wear this always!” I commanded, "... Even to bed.”
She swiftly collected it from my hand. Without wasting time, she quickly wears it around her neck.
Hardly had I finished my instructions, when something struck me like thunder. It surged through my bone like a river carving it way through a thick forest . My body vibrated.
I stood up from my feet. My hand clasped round my totem. Like the gods were entering through the room via the walls.
Rosa flinched back, as she studied my reaction.
“Your mother is in trouble.”
