Chapter 169 Ghost In The Room

Chapter 169 Ghost In The Room
Chapter 1

Rosa's POV.

Jax muted. His attitude was even pissing me off.

I marched out of his room with intense anger. En route to the maid's quarters. To Lyra's room precisely.

My visit to her room was simple. I want to be sure that she was not the one I heard her voice through Jax's window sleeping with Jax.

I still held the gun in my hand like a weapon. Like I was running mad. My blood was boiling. I have only one thing running in my mind: The intent to kill.

Everyone who sees me on the road enroute to Lyra's room runs away from me.

I was breathing hard. Squeezing my jaw. My vibrating like the body of a vehicle that had gone through a long journey.

I didn't care about the outfit I was putting on anymore. If it was an all black outfit like a robber that went to raid all night. I couldn't care if roughly a few hours back I had seen an extreme gun battle exchange.

One I had never experienced in my lifetime. Painfully, I had been who had sent three out of them to an early afterlife including Brielle.

May her soul rest in peace.

I reached Lyra's room. Then a heavy knock on her door.

I thought I would wait longer but I didn't.

Lyra opened the door. I burst in like I had run mad. She staggered and fell to the floor. Her butt hit the floor with a dull thud.

“What is wrong with you, my queen?” she asked, her face painted with shock because of the way I had matched into the room.

I didn't reply. I frowned my face like I had tasted something bitter. Something abominable.

I walked into the center of her room like the gods worked on the face of the earth.

I stood still as I watched lyra from head to toe like from the floor she was trying to stand up from.

Something must give her up. I said to myself.

But I was wrong. Everything that I was seeing right in front of me wasn't like something that was hurriedly put together.

Her pile of books was perfectly put together. The lamp on her small table which she had been using to read her books was still light on.

I even drifted closer to her to perceive her gown if it was offensive. But I was wrong, the air in her room was the exact opposite of my intention room. Clean, fresh.

I turned to her. Words stuck in my mouth.

“I….I’m s…sorry for barging into your room.” I managed to say, “there was just a little dispute between you and your king, alpha Jax,”

Lyra looked at me. Her eyes glued on my face. She shook her head.

That attitude of hers hit me like a blow launched to my ribcage.

It was more of an embarrassment to me than anything else.

I stepped out of the room when it was around five AM in the morning. The cock had been crowing.

I knew I had acted stupidly enough. I left her room. My foot scraped the floor.

Jax's POV.

I quickly turned to lyra . My breath shook? I vibrated about the same point like electricity had passed into me.

“P…please who are you?”

She didn't reply? She only put a strange smile that was appropriate enough to snatch away my soul.

I watched how she put on her long trousers and her perfectly fitted clothes.

You are not speaking to me, lyra…”

She put on her clothes and was about to walk past me to the door when I quickly dragged her back.

Please don't walk away… from lyra…” my voice thinned out, barely above whisper. My eyes fixated on her. Searching every answer behind those almond penetrating eyeballs.

Rosa was right in front of you … right there and she couldn't physically see you… or am I speaking with death, the spirit?”

“I was dragged closer… you taste like Mila, everything about you reminds me of her… so who are you lyra?”

She disentangled my hand, which I had clutched tight my nails and almost bore a hole into the skin.

It's left for you to find out…”

I can't figure it out without your help… infact since I have been this close to …” I paused a bit, trying to breathe in the air . I found it so difficult for me to think properly, especially anytime I am with you.”

It's like you have some strange power…” I paused again... Which I found difficult to explain or comes to terms with! Today shows that there is something strange about you that I need to find out, but you have to help me out. Rosa was literally there in front of you and she couldn't see you and I were exchanging that glance? How would I explain this to the world lyra? That I am sleeping with a ghost?”

Sh… you don't have to…” she paused a bit… but if you have to…”

I looked at how she walked to the door. I couldn't explain the message she was trying to pass across.
