Chapter 124 When Love Turns To Ruin.
Chapter 120
Rosa's POV
Bang! Bang!
"Rosa! Open this fucking door!" Ryder's voice exploded through the wood. Each word was like thunder. "Or you'll force me to open it myself!"
His fist slammed against the door. Boom. Boom. Boom. The entire door shook with each hit. It rattled in its frame like teeth chattering in the cold. The hinges groaned and creaked. They looked like they might tear themselves right off the wall.
I watched the door shake. Watch the wood bend slightly with each strike.
"I said open this door for the very last time, Rosa!" Ryder's voice was a warning now. Lower. Darker. More dangerous.
I kept quiet. I pressed my lips together tight. Let him do his worst. Let him break down every door in this cursed house if he wanted.
I turned my head and looked down at the bed. At what remained of Caramel.
Blood. So much blood. It had splashed across the white sheets like spilled wine. Dark red pools spread and soaked into the fabric, making it heavy and wet. The pillows were stained. The mattress was ruined.
Caramel's body lay still. Completely still. No breathing. No movement. Just emptiness.
The face of a traitor.
I felt something warm spread through my chest. Not guilt. Not sadness. Joy. Pure, simple joy. I had done this. I had made it right.
Then
BANG!
This wasn't a knock. This was different. Louder. Sharper. A gunshot.
The lock on the door exploded into pieces. Metal fragments flew through the air and scattered across the floor. The door shuddered one final time.
Then Ryder kicked it.
Ryder's boot smashed the door and it went ajar with a great force. Shaking every pillar of the room to the point that it left obvious damage on the door.
The keylock pulled out of the door. The hinges too gave away.
Ryder charged into the room like a wild predator on a hunting spray. His chest pumped in and out with heavy breathing. His eyes swept across the room to take a look at the chaos I have caused. The blood on the bed, the blood that spilled on the wall, how I had the gun which used to kill caramel firmly in my hand. Even the scattered pillows were not left out.
To him, this was a mess. To me, it was justice. It was a fulfillment. It was everything I needed.
"Oh no… What have you done?!" Ryder cried out throwing his hand over his head like disaster had struck him. Maybe disaster had struck him.
His voice permeated every nook and cranny of the room. His face filled with rage, or shock, something I was not sure of.
Tell me Rosa!” he voiced out with rage, are you out of your mind or what?"
No single response. Of course I didn't have to . My chin lifted. My face steadily glued to his. No stress . No remorse. In fact I felt more fulfilled and clear headed than I had been in months. I could not be happier.
"You fucking killed your best friend just because she slept over in my house?" Ryder's arm shot out, pointing at Caramel's body. His finger shook.
Slept over? I turned my head to look at the window. The sky was dark now, turning from orange to deep purple. I checked the clock on the wall. Around seven in the evening. That bloody rat had been here since last night. That meant she'd spent the entire day in his bed. Sleeping. Eating. Laughing.
While I waste away in stormfang pack waiting for someone's touch.
"Listen! This would be the last time I would tolerate this from you!" Ryder's hands flew up in the air. His face was red now, flushed with anger and maybe alcohol.
"Hmmmnn … Tell me Rosa!" He closed the distance between us. And almost poked his finger into the air . “Am I the one who damaged your womb?!"
My brow went wide. With his last utterance. Completely shocked. But I didn't let it weigh me down.
Oh. So that was it. I felt my lips curl into a cold smile.
"Congratulations," I said slowly. Each word dripped like honey mixed with poison. "She informed you."
"Yes!" Ryder's chest puffed out. He took a step forward again, his boots crunching on broken pieces of the door lock. "She informed me that the healer said you wouldn't be able to carry an heir to term again. That your womb is ruined."
I shrugged my shoulders, slow and deliberate. "Then she decided to die."
Ryder froze. His mouth opened slightly. "She decided to die?"
Ryder muted a bit. His large fingers raked into his hair, finger digging and almost pulling out every strand of it
like he was about to run mad, he roughened up his hair until shut wide in every direction moving to and fro in front of me displaying a few moments of madness.
I remained unhinged. Unperturbed.
Then he drifted back to. Our eyes locked on each other like a sworn enemy locked in a battle.
He gritted his teeth in anger, veins stood up on his forehead. “ Then don't ever try to leave dead bodies around me."
"How?" I asked. I tilted my head slowly, watching him.
He moved towards me slowly like a warrior that had conquered his arch-enemy territory. Each steps almost made the tiled floor beneath caved in.
I could feel the heat emanating from his body not of sex, or passion but of intense rage.
He grounded his teeth together again. His white glittering teeth shows under sunset light permeating the room
He ground his teeth together. I could hear the grinding sound, tooth against tooth. His breath washed over my face, hot and sharp with the smell of fury and alcohol. His face was r
eddish, almost purple. He looked like a demon standing in human skin.
"Just the way you killed Astra," he said.
