Chapter 120 Silent Infilteration
Chapter 118
Rosa's POV
Freya's fingers trembled as she handed over the keys to me. She moved around to check if someone might be looking as she pressed the keys into my hand.
“Pass through the back door to gain entrance into the house, your honor. You will never be noticed.”
I nodded and I watched Freya turning away swiftly from me like a gossiper who had come to deliver her job to the mistress. Her shoe clicked the floor with high intensity. Within a few moments she had disappeared from my vision.
Freya stood near the outer door which leads to the main road. It was certain she wanted to go and get groceries in the market.
Her hamper tucked under her arm. But something tells me it was all pretence. She did to free herself from trouble Incase things went south or if I am being caught.
She did this just so I could sneak into Alpha Ryder's house without the security guards stopping me and asking questions. Questions I didn't want to answer.
The whole area was surprisingly quiet. Maybe Rosa had found a way to make the security guards look the other way. Maybe she gave them some excuse to leave their posts for a while. She understood how dangerous this was for me. If anyone saw me here, word would spread fast. Faster than a forest fire.
And Jax... Jax had already been watching me closely. He suspected I was cheating on him. This would only make things worse.
Freya's eyes had gone wide when she first spotted me earlier. She clearly thought I would get someone else to do this dirty work. That I would hire someone to come here instead of coming myself.
That stupid omega called lyra was the one I wanted to hire to get this job done. But she turned me down at the last minute.
But that is not an issue to me now. The issue is how to successfully execute the mission and get out of Ryder's house unscathed. Unnoticed.
I promise to get back to lyra and deal with ruthlessly from the high horse she thought she had been riding on.
This is the only opportunity I have once and for all to deal with this unfriendly friend called caramel.
I moved silently toward the back of the house. My heart pounded hard in my chest.
The back door opened easily with the key Rosa gave me. I stepped into the kitchen and froze, listening carefully.
Silence.
Complete silence.
The maids were all gone. This home was typically occupied by servants who were cooking, cleaning, and preparing meals. However, the kitchen was vacant today. The corridors were also deserted.
I skittered over the glossy kitchen floor. With every stride, the tiniest whisper of sound came from my shoes.
I noticed a tray with some empty glasses and a glass pitcher of orange juice on the counter.
Perfect.
Pretending to be a servant delivering refreshments, I picked up the tray. Then I swiftly opened a drawer and looked through it.
I found what I wanted with my fingers: a sharp knife with a shining edge and a pointed tip. I concealed the knife beneath the juice pitcher so that no one could see it by sliding it under the tray. I noticed an apron hanging on a line next to the entryway.
I took hold of it and covered my garments with it. I now had the appearance of a housekeeper.
I silently left the kitchen with the tray in my hands and the knife concealed underneath.
I made my way through the enormous living room of Alpha Ryder. Everything was pricey, including the polished tables, plush couches, and wall artwork. My feet slipped into the plush carpet. I then arrived at the stairs.
I was cautious not to make any noise as I ascended gently, one step at a time. The stairs formed an ascending spiral. My breathing quickened. At last, I arrived at the corridor upstairs. I knew exactly which room I was looking for, Ryder's bedroom
I stopped in front of the door. My palms were sweating now. Hot and wet. I wiped one hand on my apron, then reached out and grabbed the doorknob.
The metal felt cold under my damp fingers.
I turned it slowly.
Creeeeeak.
The door made
that awful creaking sound. My whole body tensed up.
Inside the room, a figure spun around quickly.
Rosa!”
