Chapter 119 When Trust crumbled

Rosa POV
I watched in shock as Lyra jammed the door in front of me.
Her shoes clicked against the floor as she walked away from my doorsteps. It looked like she was running away from danger or something scary.
And of course she wasn't really running. But what she did was an outright act of defiance from her. She was showing me that she would not go to Alpha Dominion's pack to help me with the caramel issue.
I stood there thinking about what Lyra had just done. I thought about her bigger than boss attitude that she always displays without caring what anyone thinks.
Apart from saving my life in Crimson pack, which I held very dearly to my heart, what else has she really done for me? And I have already compensated her plenty for saving my life. I gave her outright access to me and to other places in this palace. She has access to more areas than some omegas who have been here much longer than her. So really, of what usefulness is she serving to me now?
Fuck me, I should not have protected that backstabber when Alpha Vexhood came calling for her.
This was now the second time I had asked her to follow my instructions, but she had declined both times. I remembered clearly the day when the gods struck the palace with lightning and thunder. I had instructed all the idiots to leave the palace with me to go to Alpha Dominion's pack for safety. But she had declined that too.
I bent down and picked up the note I had given to her from the floor. The paper was slightly crumpled now. I really hope Lyra didn't drop this note on the floor in the presence of Jax. That would spell even more trouble and problems for me. That would be very bad.
Since Lyra had declined to do this important job for me, who should I call to do the job for me instead?
I waited a whole minute, standing there and thinking hard. But no good answer came up in my mind. I realized that I had to do this by myself. I had no other choice now. I had to start going to Alpha Dominion's pack on my own. I really wish to meet Caramel and talk to her.
I walked into my room and started to get dressed up to prepare for the long journey ahead. I had to disguise myself properly so that Jax would not notice me or recognize me like anyone else in the palace might.
I decided that I have to take the entrance gate C to get out of the palace. That way, no one would recognize me or detect that I am going anywhere at all.
I dressed very casually too, trying to look like a normal person. Then I opened the door to my quarters carefully. But I had locked my bedroom door up tight to keep out any intruders who might try to snoop around.
The journey to Alpha Dominion's pack had been nothing but hectic and tiring. The roads were very bumpy and dusty. My feet hurt from all the walking. The dust got into my nose and made me want to sneeze. The sun beat down on my head and made me sweat.
Finally, I had gotten to the front of Alpha Ryder's house. I stood there for a moment, catching my breath. I prayed silently to the goddess that I would not come across that stupid omega that I had a big fight and rancour with the last time I was in Jax's place. That would just make everything so much worse.
I really wished to step into Alpha Ryder's house without any notice from anyone at all, including the guards and servants.
As the goddess Asheteroth would have it, right then I met Freya at the main gate. She was going out somewhere.
"Freya!" I called out to her in a loud whisper.
I quickly signaled to her with my hand to keep quiet and not make noise. I put my finger to my lips in the universal sign for silence. I did this so she would not give many of them insight or information that I am here in the pack.
"Your friend is inside with the boss," Freya said to me quietly, making sure no one else could hear. She was telling me that Caramel was in
side the house with Alpha Ryder right now.
