Chapter 63
Chapter 63
Cassidy woke up with a startled scream as ice cold water was dumped down on top of her naked body. The shock of it was painful in the frosty morning air as she jumped up to her feet and growled at the man who was slowly crouching down with a bucket in his hand well out of her range so she couldn't hurt him… again.
It had been four days. Four long miserable days since she had been kidnapped from her home and brought to this hell hole of a camp.
“Rise and shine bitch.”
Cassidy wiped the water from her eyes and brushed back her hair before her glare was directed to the man. “Why don't you come a little closer and let me give you a proper good morning?” she asked with a sweet tone, but there was venom in her eyes and a promise of death if the man came even an inch closer.
“You were a good lay when you were sedated but you are too crazy for me. My father will break you in and you will lose that attitude of yours.” The man said before he stood up with a smirk when Cassidy’s expression betrayed her moment of fear. “We will be leaving within an hour. I expect you to cooperate or I will drug you again and give you to the ferals this time. They wont be as kind as I was.” He said in a cold, chilling voice before he headed back to go and help break down the camp and get everything loaded into the vehicles.
Cassidy stood, glaring in silence at the man but did not give him any more interaction. When he left, she went to the small pit that was dug out for her and relieved herself, whispering over and over like a mantra for her to keep it together, that James would come and they would kill the man who took her together. Cassidy had quickly learned the man was not her father. Or her brother. He had no idea who she was other than the “BlackStone White Bitch” as he put it.
She only knew him as Nash. He was the caption of this unit of rogues and one of the most vile men she had ever had the displeasure of meeting. He had brought her to this camp and kept her in his tent where the scent of Jennifer clung to all of his bedding. He had used her body over and over while she was sedated and unable to move but awake. She had screamed within her mind for so long she felt she was going insane with the anger her and her wolf felt when they could not stop him. He had left for a few hours at one point and when he came back, the sedation had worn off on her, but she was smart enough to have lain right where he left her. When he returned and tried to use her again, Cassidy shifted and attacked the man. If it hadn't been for the rogue men who came in to restrain her, she would have killed her fathers look alike.
She tore into the rogues that came to restrain her and it took almost half of the camp to get a collar around her neck and get her chained to a tree. She had tried for hours to get the collar off of her. It was too tight to slip over her wolfs head and almost chokingly tight when she shifted back into her human form. She was strong, but not nearly strong enough to break the metal of the chain wrapped around the tree.
Cassidy had been fairly quiet in the three days since she was chained to this pole. Nash woke her up each morning with a bucket of icy river water to her face and threw her some food. She had tried to get some information from the wolf, but what she got was vague and not very helpful as far as she was aware. He was Nash, the captain of this unit of rogue warriors. They lived and died by a Rogue King, a man that even Nash spoke of as if he feared the wolf in charge. The witch had been at the camp before the attack to make and hand out the tonics to hide everyone’s scent for the fight before she was taken back to the king. She had hoped to see this witch, to see that it was true she really existed. Cassidy had watched as the rogues, while somewhat coordinated when they came to fight, they had no discipline or self control when in the camp. They often fought with each other over the smallest things, only obeying if Nash had to step in and that usually resulted in someone dying.
One such instance was when a few of the rogues decided they wanted to try and over power Cassidy when she had still been in her wolf form. There had been five of them that attacked her at night on her first night at the tree. She killed one, ripping his throat into shreds with a well placed bite and severely injured another's leg. By the time she was going after the third, Nash had shown up and taken care of the rest, warning the on lookers that if they were caught anywhere near the white wolf he would deliver them personally to the King when they returned.
Since then, no one but Nash dared to look her way or come anywhere near her. Even now, as rogues were quickly breaking down the camp and loading vans with equipment, she was ignored.

James had gone nearly mad with rage when they had finally tracked down the base camp of the rogues. It had taken three days. Two other packs help and a lot of patience before they had seen a band of rogues heading into a small mountain pass many hours away. James, Alaric, Jett and hunter all followed and kept a good distance back so they would not be detected. James had to be restrained from going in when they spotted Cassidy tied to a tree with a heavy metal band around her throat. He wanted his female back in his arms right then and there and couldn't leave her in the hands of rogues for another day. With some convincing, They retreated back a few miles while hunter was sent back to the pack to bring Jaxson and the warriors that were under the gamma’s command.
Jett and Alaric remained with James who refused to go any further away from Cassidy. They spent the night without a fire or supplies.
“If it is her father… Or her brother… What do I do? I don't want to kill the only family she has left.” James asked in a conflicted tone.
Jett stirred a little where he was sitting, his back braced against a tree. “That man is not her family.” Jett said quietly. “She looks so much like her mother, there is no way if it was Johnathan he wouldn't recognize his own daughter. If it was Sam… he probably wouldn't recognize her either. But either of those men would have known me. I had been the Wildwoods beta for nearly twenty years. Raised Sam as if he was my own. He would have recognized me.” He said in a quiet voice.
Alaric grunted a little and looked over at Jett when the man was finished speaking. It was easy to hear the hurt and pain from Cassidy’s beta over the possibility of his old alpha turning on him. Going rogue. “Is it possible he could have been brainwashed? Ive heard of it happening before.” He offered and Jett looked up at him with a frown.
“Either way he will die for what he did to Cassidy. No matter who he is. If James doesn't kill him then I will.” He said flatly and the other two men nodded in agreement.
In the early dawn hours of the fourth day, Jaxson and hunter returned with fifty warriors who were all shifted into their wolves and ready to fight for their alphas. Jaxson laid a duffel bag at James feet with a blank expression on his face. “I know they are illegal… But they took our Luna. My sister. I want nothing to stand in our way today. There is one for those of us trained to use them and additional ammo clips.” Jaxson said to James. “TallTree's and Masons are to the south and west of the pass. There are rumors that the rogues are centralized in the rockies, but no one knows for sure yet.”
James opened the bag and withdrew the firearms, passing them around and the clips with silver coated bullets to his brothers and betas. It had been agreed long long ago between all wolves that they would not pick up a human made weapon in combat or to harm another wolf. Jennifer broke that rule on him, and he was going to repay in kind to the rogues that took his mate. “Shoot to kill. Through the head. Dont leave any wolf able to heal.” He said coldly.
All the men discarded their clothing, the fabric too much of a hindrance when it came to having to shift into their wolves when the time came and they headed back the way to Cassidy with all the wolves silently following behind their Alpha. The entire group arrived just before dawn when the sky was turning from dove gray to streaks of color just starting to paint the clouds high above them. They waited patiently, just at the edge of the camp, watching the activity as men and women were rushing to break down tents and supplies.
Cassidy had been standing, watching and scanning with her eyes as well. James knew she could feel the bonding pull between the two of them just as strongly as he did. ► I will be holding you soon Cassi. ◄ he whispered over their bond, hoping they we close enough to hear each other and when those beautiful golden eyes turned directly towards him where he was hidden within the woods, he felt his heart swell when she replied back.
► Kill them all. ◄
