Chapter 35

Chapter 35

Amelia's POV.

I was filled with so much hatred and disdain for Luna Bella and Dorovan's entire household; they are all nothing far from monsters parading in living being regalia. I hated everything about them, for their evil nature, for the ruthless acts and pain they had inflicted on my people.

I know very much that one of them is responsible for what I saw out there, the person that had taken those women and kept them hidden in that secluded area, in that dilapidated house, must be someone from within this household, someone amongst them is the masterminds this whole thing.

I knew it was one of them that must have captured those with him and kept them hostage, forcing them to go against their wish and do those wicked acts, causing the Alpha to be in that life-threatening predicament, yet they all still live and act like they are all unaware of what was happening to him.

Seeing how heartless and selfish these people could be made me despise them the more; anger boiled down my chest as I recalled their faces one after the other and their evil fake smiles, which they always posed as reality.

“I swear with my life I will see to the end of each and every one of you that was involved in the murder of the only family I had, and I will fish out the person that held those women captive. I will make you all pay dearly for your sins” I muttered through gritted teeth.

“Dispeakable people!” I slammed in rage and got up from the bed, an overwhelming fury surging through my breath as I paced frantically in my room.

If only I could have my way so easily, I know I could have ended this whole thing and wiped this person off the surface of the earth long ago, they don't deserve to live, they don't deserve the breath possess, they don't deserve the air in their lung, they all deserve to die in a painful way, to be wasted just the way they had wasted my family and I will see to it.

‘But first I need to help those witches. I need to save them; I need to get them out of that hell of a place, out of that torture,’ I thought to myself as I slowly came to a halt.

“But how do I start?” I whispered to myself as the question came straight into my head and out of my mouth.

I know I need to get them out of that misery after two months,  and I have to make a plan for that, but I can't do it alone; I don't even know how to do that or where to start. I was more than blank and out of clues as I tried to figure a way out and provide a solution to my present worries.

At that moment, I felt a certain emptiness in my heart, I was missing someone, someone who could have made everything easier for me, someone who could have just come up with a plan and solution as easily and as fast as I needed it, someone that had been my bedrock in this entire journey and had paved way for me so easily in so many ways, I started to miss Kaiden.

I know if Kaiden was here, I wouldn't need to get myself stressed or overwhelmed trying to figure out what I would do to success my targets; he could have made a suggestion and sketched out a plan that would perfect everything for me.

For a moment, I felt bad for making him get angry at me; I felt bad for neglecting his feelings and for acting like I had no feelings for him. I felt bad for making him look weak and vulnerable in people's presence because he loved me, I felt bad for pushing him away for too long.

Kaiden is the only one I can always talk to and my only companion and he volunteered to do that without me asking for it; he had been too kind to me, and he has always been there for me. And that made me feel more than comfortable and free around him, sharing each of my thoughts and personal issues with him. But now that he is not around me anymore, I feel more than confused and lost; I don't even know where to start to help myself out.

I was enveloped in loneliness and saddened as I sat back on my bed, curled up in the bed, and held my pillow tight to my chest with my head resting on it. I thought about how I had debunked his kindness and even how he had tried to help me out on several occasions filled my head.

How he stood by me and did not give a chance for anyone to treat me anyhow in this place, how he had put in all his efforts to see that I was comfortable and happy here, and how he had seen to the smooth running of my plans. I literally know that I could not have gone this far in this mission without him.

“But I wasn't taking him for granted; I was just trying to keep my revenge plans going”. I grumbled and buried my face in the pillow as I recalled how I maneuvered his words the other day to accept Damien's invitation in the presence of everyone.

I was sad and overridden with guilt for my actions as I reminisced everything that happened that day. Buried in my thoughts and sadness, I didn't know I drifted into a deep sleep. I slept off as I was thinking about everything, and in my sleep, I had a strange dream.

In the fragments of the dream, I walked into a strange place, a vast wood filled with fog, dried trees, and dead plants; the entire place was deserted with no sign of living organisms in it. I was confused and didn't understand how I got to the place.

“What is this place and what am I doing here?” I asked myself as I looked around the place, searching for any living being but there was no sign of anyone. I was scared and frightened by the sight of everything there.

Just then, I started to hear a low whimpering from afar. At first, I couldn't decipher what the sound was, and I was also afraid to walk in the direction of the sound, but then the sound came in again, and this time around, it was clearer.

It was coming from a wounded person. I was grateful that at least I was not alone and quickly went to help. The voice became clearer and more familiar as I got closer to the direction it was coming from; it was a female voice, and at some point, I started to wonder if it was one of my relatives —My mother or My aunt.

Just when I was a few miles away,  I caught sight of a woman dressed in a sea-green chiffon gown whimpering on the ground. The fog covered the entire place making it quite difficult for me to see her face, but from her voice, I could tell that it was my aunt.

I hastened my pace to help her but when I got to her, I discovered that her long chiffon dress was soaked in a pool of blood.

“Please, Amelia, help me; I need your help,” she begged, admitting, tears stretching out her hand to me.

Just as I was about to take her hand, a knock came to my door, jolting me from sleep. I hissed and stretched as the knock came again before asking who it was.

“It's me, Orhan, good day, my lady,” the maids echoed from the other end.

“What do you want?” I asked, ignoring her greeting as I opened the door.

“Alpha Damien seeks your presence to discuss some important matters related to your suggestion during the breakfast” the maid stated.

“Very well then, tell him I would be joining him in a jiffy” I instructed the maid before dismissing her.

I sat back on my bed for a moment after the maid had left thinking about the dream I had some minutes ago, I couldn't really understand the meaning but one thing I knew for sure was that my aunt and my people who were demanding revenge, for justice, and that I will ensure they get.

Just then, an idea came into my mind, an idea to secretly and indirectly ask Damien some questions about witches; perhaps he might leak some important information that could help me.

“But first, a cup of tea will do a lot of good in soothing and uplifting his mind,” I muttered under my breath, and the corners of my lips twitched into a smile as I stood up and made my way to the kitchen.

Just as I walked towards Damien's study, I saw Freya walking down in my direction at the same time.
