Chapter Seventy Four; Peaceful Dialogue With The Rogues.

Alpha Xavier’s POV

We parked our cars at the demarcation of the rogue territory and decided to complete the rest on foot.

Some people including the medical team were asked to wait behind and guard our cars also looking out for enemies that might come to attacks from behind.

We proceeded to enter through the gate, there was no one guarding the gates, instead it was left in desolate as we saw some people running halter shelter trying to find refuge,

We didn’t have time and tried pursuing them, even calling unto them, but not one stood to listen to us, they were still running away.

No matter how they ran though, they were too weak and malnourished to run faster than us even if they tried but we didn’t have much time to play hide and sick with anyone.

I plunged forward and caught the person whom my hand landed on, it was a young teenage boy and he looked very scared that he actually peeped his pants upon being caught by the ferocious looking man.

I lifted him up by the collar of his shirt so that his face was in direct level with my face fir easy communication and his legs were dangling in mid air

“Where your leader?”

“He… He..”. The boy was stammering and didn’t say anything tangible for three minutes and it was driving me crazy.

I lifted up my sword and brought it towards his neck threatening to chop it off maybe it will make to talk faster.

The boy instead curled up his legs and shut his eyes, fear was practically written all over him.

“Leave that boy alone!”

A small and funny voice sounded beside me towards the left, I turned only to see a young, no nit young, a small girl standing with a kitchen knife in her hand.

I look around and saw that the place was still going haywire but she dared come back to face the bad guys alone, such bravery couldn't be found anywhere in the world.

“Little girl what do you want?” I asked her.

“My brother”. She replied immediately still holding on to her knife as if she was threatening me, I couldn't help but he marveled at her.

“Okay my little girl, where’s your brother? you should go find him”

“You’re holding him you dumbass!” She shouted back earning gasps and excited shouts and whistles from my men that were following me.

Even Jason was looking at me like am really defeated by the small girl.

Actually even I am surprised by the guts she carried and strangely I didn’t feel any need to just eliminate her in the moment.

“Alpha do you want me to get rid of her?” It was my Beta who suddenly remembered that he was supposed to have my back and decided to redeem himself.

“No, don’t worry” I mind link him and approached the girl with the boy still on my hand.

“Melissa you should run away, don’t come!” He suddenly found his voice and urged his sister to run away but she was still adamant.

“No brother, before mother died, we promised her that we would take care of each other, I promise not to leave you”

I actually felt bad hearing the girl talk so fondly about her mother and her brother, I wondered how her mother died that she had time to make them talk about taking care of each other before she died.

A place in my heart tugged and I think I was feeling sympathy and affection towards the little girl who might as well be an orphan.

“Melissa, do you want me to give your brother back to you?”

“That’s what I said old man” the girl resorted Bach, now it’s her choice of words that were affecting me, how can she call me old? Such a young handsome face if mine can not bear this.

“I am not old” I wanted to say, but ai didn’t get a chance to, I heard heavy footsteps and loud voices coming from a short distance.

About time that the leaders of the people come.

Raising my head, I was suddenly reminded that I was in a rogue community, the people were looking so rough and dirty, they had long guns and sticks in their hands, and still they looked so lean and malnourished, they couldn't stand a chance even if they tried.

But even at that, we came for a business and I couldn’t just risks being loosing my guard. I dumped the kid to the side and shued the little girl to go and tend to her brother.

“You have killed our Lord and now you are here in our territory without our permission but with weapons, Alpha, how mighty do you actually think of yourself?”

Hmmn, that’s not a tough question, actually I don’t think that I am a highly acclaimed person, but I intend to use them do that my name will travel out loud abroad.

But I wasn’t going to let them know this thing.

“Yes, I have gotten rid of your Lord, but that’s because he only attacked me first, now to answer your question, I’ll tell you how might I think of myself, I have permission from the elders according to old traditions just eliminate all of you In dwelling, you do know of the traditions though right?”

I stopped mid sentence and looked at the person who was leading the other group of fighters, they were not really much, about a dozen of them, the man was scared but tried so hard to mask it.

Good, I ant them to be scared, then they’ll know who’s the boss.

“I could have just used a module and destroyed all of you at once but I didn’t, you know why, because I am very mighty, with such a big heart that I am actually willing to let you live”

Shock and surprise was written in their face, the brave man standing in the front wanted to talk but I didn’t let him continue,
