Chapter 236 The Brilliant Corvin
Chapter 236 The Brilliant Corvin
Thorin always thought that he was at fault for dragging Vespera along. She didn’t deserve his lie, but he had no other option to keep Eve’s name out of danger.
“Packing! I am talking about packing,” said Vespera, hurt.
“Oh, right! That’s a good thing that you are all packed. Mira calls me lazy; I am still packing. See you there in Veyantara,” said Thorin.
“What? What do you mean by see you there? I am coming with you,” snapped Vespera.
“Vespera! I have to go ahead. I have to book a house so that we all can live there. The moment I reach, I will stay in Elder Fenmark’s place. You know he doesn’t like guests. I cannot take you into his house, and I am not letting you stay in any hotel. That is a small town. We don’t even know the security and safety of that place. Please come directly on Monday. Shift to the new house. Live with Corvin and me, and then we will go to the office. Please do this for me,” pleaded Thorin.
Vespera said nothing for almost a minute. “Fine! Fine! I will do as you say. You are, after all, looking for my safety. That’s why I love you, Thorin. Oops! Sorry, I was not supposed to say that.”
“It’s okay. Friends say that to each other. And Vespera, thank you for waiting for me for all these years,” said Thorin. “I don’t know how to repay you.”
“Marry me! Ha-ha, I am kidding. See you on Monday,” chirped Vespera and disconnected the call. Thorin sighed loudly and chucked the phone on his bed. Kaelen, Rynna and Thorin had their dinner together that night. Their son was going away from them after a long time, and they had no idea how long he was going away. They were worried that he might get angry there too and would display his alpha power again. But they were happy that Corvin and Vespera were going with him.
“What about your other friends?” asked Rynna.
“They are from different departments, Mother. Why would they come with me?” said Thorin. They retired early that night, and in the morning, Corvin and Thorin hugged them and left for Veyantara.
“We are going to the land of Jane Doe,” said Corvin while munching on an apple. He was sitting comfortably in the passenger seat. Two cars were in front of Thorin’s car, and two were behind him providing security.
“Heh… what? Land of Jane Doe? Everyone has a name there, you idiot!” snapped Thorin and slapped Corvin’s upper arm.
“No, no, you idiot! Jane Doe! The only girl who can identify Ozul,” said Corvin.
Thorin immediately jerked his car and lost control for a second, but he instantly brought the car in the right lane.
“Woah! Woah! What?” shouted Corvin.
Thorin pressed the brake pedal and stopped the car at the side of the road. The cars following him and driving before him looked at him, and they too abruptly stopped their cars. Two bodyguards from the front and two from behind came running.
“Are you okay, prince? What happened? Do you need anything?” the bodyguards shouted.
“No, no, I am fine! Just go back to your cars,” ordered Thorin.
Corvin looked at him as if Thorin had gone mad. “What was that?” he snapped at him.
“Corvin! I… I forgot about her. She is in Veyantara. She can help us find Ozul. She can tell us what he looked like, what he sounded like. If we add all these details to the AI program I am thinking about, we can get Ozul just like that. Ohh! Veyantara holds every answer I need. I am an idiot! How can I forget about her?” Thorin kept slapping his forehead.
“You know Elder Eirik Fenmark knows her. Officer Daik, Moon Goddess rest his soul, and Eirik, they were the only ones who knew about Jane Doe. You can ask him. he can help,” said Corvin.
“You are… brilliant!!” Thorin removed his seatbelt and jumped over Corvin. He grabbed his head and kept kissing his head over and over again.
“Ew! Ew! Ew! Stop!” snapped Corvin and pushed Thorin away. “Get off, you idiot! Go, kiss your Eve.” Corvin shook his hair as if trying to remove Thorin’s kisses from his head.
“Why do you think I am doing all this? I want to kiss her again!” shouted Thorin and laughed happily.
“You are an idiot!” laughed Corvin.
Thorin started driving again, and they reached Veyantara by noon. Eirik welcomed them with open arms.
“Finally, you are here!” smiled Eirik.
“Elder!” smiled Thorin and bowed down to him.
“Come in! Come in! Let’s get you freshened up, and then we will eat,” said Eirik and gestured to his servants to bring the luggage in. “Your bodyguards can follow him. They will be well taken care of,” Eirik pointed at one of his servants, and all the bodyguards followed him.
Thorin and Corvin were given separate rooms, and they came out after changing their clothes. Eirik was on his couch, laughing and talking over the phone.
“I know, I know, Vela. Okay, I will talk to your mother. No one will give my Vela any more homework. Tell your Mom this, if you are staying at home, why is it called homework? Okay, okay, I will scold her. But Vela, your mom is precious to me too. She gave us you, so she must be loved too, right? Come here, I will give you hundreds of chocolates. Okay? Bye, sweetie.”
Thorin looked at Eirik; he looked so happy on the phone. And it was clear that he was talking to a kid.
“So, what do you want to eat?” asked Eirik.
“Anything!” replied Thorin.
The food was served, and Thorin and Corvin enjoyed the meal. “I have finalised a few houses for you. You can go, check and then book one of them. I will send Sapphire with you. She will help with the houses and anything else you need.”
“Okay, thank you! I can’t wait to start the work. Have you heard anything about the office? How are the people there?” asked Thorin.
“Oh! My prodigy is in that office. Obviously, the office is the best,” said Eirik with pride.
“Your prodigy?” asked Corvin.
“Yes, Maeve. She is my student. I taught her everything, but she surpassed me too. She is the best I have ever seen in IT. Better than you, Thorin,” said Eirik. Pride was dripping from his face.
Thorin immediately choked on his food after hearing Maeve’s name. he started coughing violently, and his face turned red. But Corvin heard the name, and he started laughing like a manic. He laughed so hard that he fell from his chair.
“What? What? What is happening?” shouted Eirik and stood up urgently. He handed a glass of water to Thorin and patted his back. After attending to him, he moved near Corvin and helped him to stand.
“Will anyone tell me what the hell is going on?” asked Eirik.
