JAYDEN: I so want to go back to that Pack and finish the job of killing that bastard. How dare he lay his hands on our mate! Steel wants his pound of flesh from his ass. And if I knew I wouldn’t be put in the king's cells for disobeying a direct order, I would go back and kill him. I guess I will just have to satisfy myself. knowing that some of his injuries won’t fade. And they will leave scars. Not that he will live long enough to understand that. But it gives my wolf and me some satisfaction. But right now, all I want is to get Chi home, where I know she will be safe and nobody can touch her except for Caiden and me.

CHIARA: It took a bit to get the guys to finally let me go after what Nate did. I think they shocked more than just Jearmy. The look on Emmery’s face was a bit wary as well. But the twins were making things up to me. I didn’t mind. But I knew I was going to have an adrenaline crash on the way home. Just telling him we were leaving first because you want to go home.” Caiden said. I nodded, and we hit the road. I fell asleep by the time we reached the main highway home. I knew I would. I felt Jayden lift my legs and feet onto his lap, and my head was in Caiden’s lap, and that’s how I woke up when we finally reached the pack. And we got back before dinner. “Guys, I want Jake's for dinner tonight with all of us there. Including Brandi with her mate, and I want Cory, Hayley, and his cousin to come if she is up for it. I’d like to meet her, and maybe get to know about what our home was like.” I said. “Anything you want, baby girl.” Jayden said. And I watched his eyes glaze over. IESHA: I was on pins and needles all day. I was worried for Chi. I couldn’t concentrate on anything while they were gone. I just kept pacing back and forth in our suite all day after they left. My only consolation was that Leanna and the twins were there with her. I know she has gotten stronger, but what if they have to really fight their way out? What if Black Willow is totally corrupted, and they try to murder everyone? I couldn’t shut my brain off until I heard they were home. Oh, thank the goddess. But before I could take three steps toward the door, Chad caught me up and swung me off my feet. “Slow down love.” He said. “I can’t, I’ve been so worried all day, I need to see her and make sure she’s ok!” I tell him. “I know. But they just drove through the gate. Give them time to park.” He said with a chuckle in his voice. “Ohh!” I growl and wrinkle my nose at him. To which he picks me up, kisses my nose, and chuckles even more. “Not fair.” I say. “I know.” He answers, then he puts me down, and we walk out of the suite together. By the time we get downstairs, their SUV pulls to a stop in front of the front door of the Packhouse. I can’t help it. I fly off the steps and straight to Chi, and wrap her up. “Oh goddess, you’re back.” I breathed out. “Hey, Esha, I’m ok.” She says. “I was so worried, my brain wouldn’t shut off all day. I kept thinking about what-if scenarios all day.” I said. For an answer, she hugs me tight. “Jake’s tonight.” She said. “We have a new member. And she came from my home Pack.” She said. I nodded at that. Then the next thing I know, the rest of the twins' ranked unit was there, along with their mates, including Brandi and her mate. Ok, wow. I wasn’t expecting that. But hey, I’ll go along with it.

CAIDEN: I watched Iesha with our mate. It was like a wall came down, a door opened, something releasing? I don’t know, it’s hard to describe. She seemed like she was freer. No more shadows. It was liberating watching her. I feel like she has almost completely emerged from her shell. I think when she finally does allow us to mate, that will be the completion of her total transformation into who she was truly meant to be. And I will be right alongside her every step of the way, encouraging her not to hold anything back. But right now, it’s time to get her fed. So, it’s off to Jake’s for her favorite burger.

JAYEN: I feel that there is a change in Chi. She feels lighter somehow. I can’t put my finger on it. But I don’t think I need to. I think that it has to do with her knowing that our mother can’t reach her from beyond the grave. That, that ghost has now been put to rest. And she can breathe. And being a witness to that change makes her all the more beautiful in my eyes. I feel like our mating won’t be too far off now, either. I will cherish the moment when it happens.
