CHAPTER 74

In a quick and precise movement, she extended her hands toward Jeff, and with a power that seemed to transcend the ordinary, she pushed him forcefully, throwing him away.

The force of the push startled not only Jeff but also the triplets, who stared in astonishment. Dorian, still catching his breath, looked at Cassian and asked, perplexed, “Is this... is this some kind of vampire power?”

Cassian, equally surprised, shook his head in disbelief. “I... I don't know.”

The werewolf, momentarily surprised, stepped back, growling in frustration. The other werewolves hesitated, watching the interaction between Ignis and Jeff.

Ignis looked at Jeff firmly. “I don't want to fight, Jeff. There are bigger things at play here.”

Jeff, still in his lupine form, bared his teeth and roared, challenging Ignis. The other werewolves began to approach, undecided on how to proceed.

Ignis raised her hand, signaling them to stop. “You don't need to go down this path. There are other options.”

However, Jeff was determined to pursue his own interests. He advanced again, but before he could attack, Ignis channeled more lunar energy and created a wave of light that pushed him away once more.

The scene was surreal in the parking lot, with Ignis skillfully controlling the surrounding elements. Jeff, still struggling against the supernatural barrier, began to realize that he might have underestimated the powerful fairy.

Ignis, patiently, looked into Jeff's eyes. “You chose this path, but it doesn't have to be this way. Surrender; I can help.”

A mysterious and pulsating energy emanated from her. Then, with a quick and precise movement, Ignis pushed Jeff with her outstretched hands, and a wave of energy hit him.

Jeff, surprised, was thrown back with force. He collided with the parking lot ground, sliding for a few meters before stopping. His body reverted to its human form, and he lay there, stunned and bewildered.

The other werewolves watched what had just happened. Ignis remained in the same place, her posture confident, but her eyes now returned to their usual tone.

“This could have been avoided, Jeff,” Ignis said serenely.

Jeff looked at himself, confused to realize he was human again. In a desperate impulse, he tried to transform into a werewolf again but failed. His eyes widened, and he stared nervously at Ignis.

“What did you do, Ignis?” Jeff questioned, distressed.

Ignis, with a smug smile, calmly replied, “I did nothing, Jeff. Just remember that what the Goddess grants, she can also take away. And now, she has taken the wolf from you.”

Jeff looked at his hands, still processing the change. Despair began to spread in his eyes. “Undo this, Ignis, please.”

Ignis, coldly, affirmed. “I'm sorry, Jeff. It's too late for that now. You've lost your wolf forever.”

“Attack Ignis!” Jeff ordered, expecting a revolt.

However, the other werewolves, unable to comprehend Jeff in his new human form, just stared at him confused.

Ignis, in turn, addressed the werewolves, calmly explaining, “You can't understand him anymore. Now, he's just a human. I hope you see this as an example.”

The other werewolves, confused, began to disperse, ignoring Jeff's orders. Ignis looked at him with compassion.

“I'm sorry for you, Jeff. I hope you can escape what's coming.”

“What's coming?” Jeff asked, desperate.

Ignis sighed, her expression serious. “The world of werewolves is ruthless, Jeff. Now that you're just human, you're vulnerable. I suggest you disappear while you still can. Be strong.”

Ignis turned her back, leaving Jeff in the parking lot, confused and powerless in the face of the turn in his condition.

She turned to face the van where Cassian, Dorian, and Kane were hiding. Her eyes met the triplets'.

“I hope you saved a piece of pizza for me,” Ignis said, trying to lighten the tense atmosphere with a touch of humor. “After all, I'm still starving.”

The triplets emerged from their hiding spot, still processing the whole situation. Cassian questioned Ignis, “What did you do to Jeff? And what are these consequences?”

“Jeff chose his path, and the Goddess decided to take away his wolf,” explained Ignis, trying to ease the situation. “As for the consequences, that's something he'll have to figure out for himself.”

Dorian, still processing the information, asked, “And what about the other werewolves that were with him?”

Ignis replied, “They'll probably go their own ways. Without a leader, they might disperse.”

Kane, intrigued by everything that had happened, asked, “What are you exactly?”

Ignis laughed gently and said, “I've already explained, haven't I? I'm a Peeira, a kind of fairy.”

Kane crossed his arms, suspicious. “Fairies don't throw blue energy balls.”

Ignis laughed, revealing a glint of humor in her eyes. “That's because I'm not a common fairy. You three are special, and so am I. A Peeira has unique abilities.”

Dorian blinked several times, processing the information. “So, you're like a super fairy?”

Ignis smiled, agreeing. “Something like that, yes.”

Cassian, still cautious, questioned, “Why did you help us? What's your interest in us?”

Ignis sighed, looking at the triplets with tenderness. “I have my reasons, and helping you is part of my purpose. Besides, I like you.”

“Thank you for saving us from Jeff,” said Cassian, receiving a nod from Ignis.

“My mission is to protect you,” she replied, smiling gently at Cassian.

Kane held Ignis's hand, looking at her with curiosity. “Are you hungry?”

“I'm famished,” admitted Ignis, smiling at Kane.

Dorian, holding Ignis's other hand, excitedly said, “I hope you like garlic pizza.”

“I have a question,” Ignis began. Cassian nodded, indicating she could proceed. “Do you really like garlic so much?”

Kane made a face and replied, “I hate garlic.”

Dorian agreed, “I'm not a fan either.”

Ignis seemed intrigued and decided to ask another question. “So, why did you order pizza with so much garlic?”

“It was Cassian's idea,” said Kane, pointing to his brother.

Ignis looked at Cassian with a raised eyebrow, surprised. Cassian scratched his head, awkwardly, and explained.

“I thought that maybe you were a vampire,” Cassian admitted, sheepishly.

Ignis blinked, surprised, before bursting into laughter. “A vampire, me? No, my dear Cassian. You three need to learn more about our world.”

The triplets exchanged amused looks as Ignis guided them back to the room.
