After the devastating conversation with Alastair, my tears threatened to fall, but I refused to let anyone see my weakness. I transformed into a wolf and ran through the forest, leaving behind the oppressive presence of the clearing center. With each step, the pain of Alastair's rejection intertwined with the lost hope of a different fate.

I ran among the trees, the breeze caressing my fur as I tried to escape the shadows closing in around me. Finally, I stopped in the middle of the forest, heart squeezed, and took a deep breath to contain the tumultuous emotions.

“I know you're there, Hunter,” I whispered, my voice laden with sadness and frustration.

In response, a lupine figure approached silently, revealing the gray wolf I had come to love. Hunter nuzzled his snout against mine, seeking solace in the darkness that surrounded us.

“What happened?” he asked, his piercing gaze seeking answers in my tear-filled eyes.

I told him about the conversation with Alastair, about the harsh reality of my fate being determined as an omega, and the fact that Alastair vehemently opposed me becoming Hunter's Luna. “He said he will never accept me as his Luna.”

Hunter remained silent for a moment, absorbing my words. Then, he lifted his head with determination. “What Alastair said doesn't matter. Tonight, in front of the entire pack, I will make you my mate, my Luna.”

My heart leaped at his words. Hunter was willing to defy the alpha's orders, to fight for the love we shared. He wasn't willing to accept a fate that would separate us.

I felt inundated with a mix of emotions, but hope began to shine timidly. “Hunter, I...”

Before I could express my feelings, a third presence emerged in wolf form. Cierce, with his dark fur, approached with agility.

“Sibyl is looking for you, Fierce,” Cierce announced, interrupting the moment between Hunter and me.

He looked at me intensely. “Go. We will meet again tonight.”

I silently thanked him with my eyes, promising to return as soon as I could. With one last nuzzle, Hunter pulled away, and I followed Cierce back to the pack.

As I ran alongside Cierce, he gave me a curious look. “What are you doing talking to the alpha heir without permission?”

“I'm changing my destiny, Cierce,” I declared, determination echoing in my words. “I won't accept being just an omega. Tonight, Hunter and I will challenge the rules and forge our own path.”

Cierce looked at me, his eyes reflecting a mix of surprise and admiration. “You're challenging Alastair?”

I nodded confidently. “I won't accept a destiny I didn't choose. And if challenging Alastair means a chance with Hunter, then so be it.”

Cierce nodded, understanding the depth of my words. Together, we continued our way toward where Sibyl awaited us. I was determined to fight for the love I deserved.

The wolf pack could impose its rules, but my heart and the promise I shared with Hunter were stronger than any tradition.

The day of Hunter's coronation unfolded before us, and I, alongside Cierce and Sibyl, awaited the arrival of the daughters of the neighboring pack alphas. A palpable tension hung in the air as the she-wolves emerged one by one from the shadows of the forest.

The first to arrive had a coat as white as snow, followed by another of a gray hue, and so the procession of potential Luna candidates for Hunter continued. However, it was the arrival of a red-furred wolf that captured my attention. Her fur gleamed like fire in the sunlight, indicating her prestigious lineage from the Alpha King, Garnet's pack.

Sibyl approached me, whispering, “You will be in charge of Zora, the red-furred wolf.”

I furrowed my brow, surprised by the choice. “Why me? And why not Cierce?”

“Simple. You were raised by Alastair and carry the manners of a higher status. You'll handle Zora better than Cierce,” explained Sibyl, her eyes fixed on Zora as if anticipating challenges. I nodded, accepting the responsibility entrusted to me. Cierce gave me a supportive look, understanding the challenging task ahead.

Approaching Zora with respect, aware that the red-furred wolf wouldn't easily accept an omega as her caretaker, she scrutinized me from head to toe, her voice echoing with a mix of challenge and superiority.

Accepting the responsibility, I approached Zora, who eyed me with an evaluating expression. With all the seriousness I could muster, I introduced myself, “My name is Fierce, at your service, Zora.”

Zora's eyes gleamed with a silent challenge as she analyzed every detail. It was evident she expected more than just the assistance of a common omega. Her posture indicated she was accustomed to a higher standard.

“I hope you're more than just an omega,” Zora said, her voice tinged with disdain.

“I may not have the noble lineage like yours, but I have loyalty and dedication to offer. I'll do my best to ensure tonight is as pleasant as possible for you, Zora,” I replied, maintaining composure.

Zora nodded with minimal approval. “We'll see if you can keep your words.”

I faced her, ready to take on the challenge imposed by this prestigious lineage wolf. The pack gathered to witness not only Hunter's coronation but also the selection process for the next Luna.

I guided Zora through the event, introducing her to the other she-wolves and facilitating interactions. Gradually, I began to understand her personality, realizing the complexity behind her confident expression. Zora wasn't just a wolf of noble lineage; she was a leader in training, a future alpha seeking a strong and equally determined partner.

I started guiding her to the area where the potential Luna candidates awaited, showing her the quarters prepared for them. Zora didn't hesitate to express her opinion on every detail, as if inspecting a new territory.

The walls of the room designated for the Luna candidates for Hunter felt like they were closing in around me as I held Zora's belongings. She spoke with a tone that made it clear she was accustomed to being heard and respected. Zora commented on her distinguished lineage and the role she believed she had in the pack. “My family has a long history of leadership. I won't accept anything less than being the Luna of a future Alpha King.”

“Your family must be very proud of your lineage,” I commented, trying to ease the tension in the air.

Zora smiled coldly, her eyes fixed on me. “We are a strong lineage, and I will ensure that this tradition continues.”

I nodded, recognizing the determination in her words. “Undoubtedly, you are an impressive candidate, Zora.”

She transformed from a wolf to a human before my eyes, a fluid metamorphosis that left behind her red fur in exchange for red hair and green eyes. Zora stared intensely at me and then posed the lingering question.

Zora gave me an intrigued look. “Do you really believe that a wolf like Hunter deserves such a position?”

My response was careful, “Hunter is strong, compassionate, and fair. He possesses the qualities necessary to lead our pack.”

“Do you think Hunter is up to the position of Alpha King?” My heart swelled with unwavering love for Hunter, and I responded passionately, “Hunter is strong, compassionate, and fair. He possesses the qualities necessary to lead the pack.”

Zora narrowed her eyes, measuring my words. “I hope you're right. He'll have to prove it in the coronation test.”

The mention of the coronation test piqued my curiosity, and my gaze sought answers. As Zora dressed in her human clothes, she revealed information that caught me off guard.

“It's not easy for any werewolf to face a grizzly bear alone.”

My eyes widened at the revelation, and bewilderment washed over me. “A grizzly bear?”

Zora looked at me with an intrigued expression. “You didn't know about Hunter's test? He has to face the grizzly bear that attacked the pack. What kind of omega are you that you didn't know that?”

I swallowed hard, my mind spinning as I tried to process the information that had somehow escaped me. Hunter's test involved proving his strength and ability to lead the pack, I knew that, but now facing a grizzly bear that had killed and injured several of us, alone... My heart felt like it had shrunk in my chest.

“I... I wasn't aware of that specific detail of the test,” I admitted, feeling momentarily disoriented.

Zora studied me for a moment before asking, with a sharp glint in her eyes, “Are you in love with the heir, Hunter?”
