Chapter 248

Chapter 248
Natasha's POV

I watched as Victor was dragged toward the black sedan waiting at the estate gates by two security guards. Dried blood crusted his nose, yet he still struggled like a trapped beast.

Alexander's strong arm wrapped around my shoulders, offering a small comfort.

"You'll regret this! All of you!" Victor twisted his body, rage burning in his eyes. "The Morgan family will crumble in your hands!"

Grace walked slowly toward the car window, her fingers gripping the door edge. I'd never seen that expression on her face before—a mixture of anger, disappointment, and relief. "Thirty years, Victor. I served you for thirty years, and I've never seen a more pathetic werewolfolf." She slammed the door shut, the sound echoing in the quiet night.

I felt satisfied seeing Victor finally getting the punishment he deserved, facing legal consequences.

"Is it over?" I asked softly.

Alexander shook his head, his jaw tight. "It's just beginning. But at least he won't hurt anyone anymore."

Just as I was about to head inside, a commotion came from the trees at the edge of the estate. Security personnel dragged a struggling figure from the bushes—Madelyn. Her clothes were covered in dirt and leaves, as if she'd been hiding in the thicket for hours.

"Let me go! I work for Mr. Morgan!" Madelyn shouted in terror.

I broke free from Alexander's embrace and walked toward Madelyn. For so long, I had considered her a friend.

"Why?" I asked.

Madelyn hung her head, shoulders slumped, unable to meet my eyes. "Money... it was money at first. Then Victor threatened my family..."

"So you decided to lead me to the cliff edge?" Tears welled in my eyes, not just from the betrayal that put me in danger, but from feeling my genuine friendship had been worthless.

Alexander let out a cold laugh and stepped forward. "Take her away. Make sure she's in the same cell as Victor."

I couldn't wait to see Madelyn locked up with Victor and all the other bastards who had hurt my family.

A uniformed officer approached, bowing to Alexander. "Mr. Morgan, the station is ready to receive the prisoners. Any special instructions?"

Alexander straightened his cuffs, expressionless. "Ensure all documentation is complete. I don't want anyone escaping punishment due to procedural errors."

After the officer nodded and left with the last police car, the yard fell silent. A wave of exhaustion washed over me.

"Hey," Alexander gently caressed my cheek, his thumb wiping away a tear. "You're shaking."

I suddenly grabbed his wrist. "An hour ago," I choked out, "an hour ago I thought I'd lost you. I watched you in my arms... your blood..."

"Shh," Alexander pulled me into his embrace, his chin resting on top of my head. "I'm here." His hand stroked my back, surrounding me with warmth and security.

I breathed deeply, inhaling his familiar scent mixed with the metallic tang of blood. "I should have been stronger. If I'd controlled Astra's power sooner..."

"No," Alexander cradled my face, his gaze determined. "You're already stronger than anyone. You saved me, saved our child."

We walked into the estate. I stood up from the sofa and paced to the window. "I should go to the police station, give my statement now. The sooner this ends, the better."

Alexander shook his head, the corner of his mouth lifting. "Don't rush." He poured two glasses of water and handed one to me.

"I just want to finish all of this," I took the glass, our fingers touching, a small current passing between us. "I don't want anything left unresolved."

Alexander sat in the armchair, leaning forward. "You know, those dreams of yours, those premonitions... they're not coincidences."

"What do you mean?" I frowned.

"Ancient texts call it 'Moonlight Reflection.' It's an extremely rare ability, almost non-existent even among werewolves." Alexander's voice held a hint of reverence.

"So the visions I saw... weren't hallucinations?" My eyes widened as I recalled the cliff and Victor from my dreams.

"Not hallucinations," Alexander shook his head. "But possible futures. Not always accurate, but always connected to truth."

I stood at the bookshelf, my fingers sliding across the spines of ancient books, contemplating what this all meant. If Selene Elder were still here, perhaps she could tell me more...

"What are you thinking?" Alexander approached from behind, his hands resting lightly on my shoulders.

I turned, brow furrowed. "I don't know how to control this ability. I don't even know what Astra really is." I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration, feeling helpless.

"We'll learn together," Alexander took my hand and kissed it. "You won't face this alone anymore."

I smiled faintly, my eyes moist. "Sometimes it feels too bizarre. Lunawolf, foresight abilities, a mixed-blood child..." I caressed my abdomen.

Alexander's gaze softened. "Every challenge, we'll face together. That's my promise."

Looking into his eyes, I thought, I have a family now. At least we can learn together and support each other through all of this.

The fireplace crackled, casting light on our faces. Alexander gently lifted my chin. "You know, when I first saw you, I noticed your eyes."

"My eyes?" I couldn't help but smile. "Why? Because I was too afraid to look directly at the scary Alpha?"

Alexander shook his head, his thumb caressing my cheek. "Because they reminded me of the sky. The feeling of freedom."

I moved closer, placing my hands on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. "The first thing I noticed was how cold your eyes were."

"And now?" Alexander asked softly, his forehead touching mine.

I looked up at him, gazing into those blue eyes now sparkling with tenderness. "Now they're bluer than the sky over Selene City," I whispered.

Alexander slowly leaned down, his lips gently touching mine in a kiss full of love.
