TWO WEEKS LATER 

I felt Luciano pull me close to himself and planted a gentle kiss on my hair and I hummed in response. I wrapped my hands around him so tightly,my lips curving into a smile.

"Good morning."His voice was raspy since he had just woken up from sleep. I blinked my eyes countless times to get rid of the blurry vision.

"Good morning too."I responded lazily and he chuckled, "Do you want to sleep some more? For me,I have to wake up since I have a lot of paperwork to take care of."Luciano informed me, giving my body a gentle squeeze.

"No! I would like to help the queen with the workload. She has been working a lot lately with the help of Monalisa and my mother. Many business proposals are coming in and we need to take care of them. I need to go through some pending kingdom reports too."I explained to Luciano and he was quiet for a while.

The former queen has been working so much and I felt bad for her. I just wanted to help in some way even though she asked me to take a break because I'm close to my due date.

I'm grateful to have my mother and Monalisa because they helped the former queen to run some duties. My mother was always there to help me get through the fatigue that came with the heavy pregnancy and made sure that I was doing alright.

Luciano checked on me often and I liked the fact that he was close to me. He was helping me go through the third trimester which was getting the better of me.

My family was so worried when I became sick a few days ago .Luciano was afraid that we would lose our babies in the process and the fact that they were there to support me,made me happy.

"Don't overwork yourself, okay. I don't want you to put our babies and yourself at any risk. I can't take it if anything bad happens to you, Hazel."Luciano said and gave my body a gentle squeeze. I felt him press his lips on my hair and I smiled.

I felt the fear in his voice. I know Luciano hasn't gotten over what happened a few days ago. He's afraid to see me on the hospital bed fighting for my life.He doesn't want to experience the nightmare ever again.

"You don't need to worry about anything, Luciano. I know you are afraid that I will fall sick again. I will take care of the baby and myself."I assured him, my lips curving into an assurance smile.

"I don't want to be useless. I want to make myself useful, Luciano.I'm good now, you don't need to worry about anything.Just sitting around and watching everyone work themselves so hard is kinda boring and it makes me feel guilty.It's not like I'm crippled or anything.I just want to keep myself busy because the day is so long without doing anything constructive."I assured him once again, pouting so that he could allow me to go back to my normal routine.

"Is it boring too when you are around me?"He asked and the corner of his lips curved into a wicked smiled.I groaned in response to his question.

Why was he trying to ignite the fire inside me when he knows damn well that he needs to leave for work because he has piles of papers waiting for him in his office? Luciano can be so annoying sometimes.However,I love him in every way.I love his serious version and when he's teasing around.

"What about we try it and see."I asked with a raised eyebrow and it was his time to groan.He pulled me into his arms and inhaled my scent deeply into his lungs as though it was the sweetest scent.

"It's just that,"He paused and heaved a deep,"I can't help it but get worried whenever I recall a few days ago when you were sick,Hazel.It was tormenting to see you laying on the hospital bed with ventilator pipes in your nose."He said in a low voice.

"I can't imagine losing you Hazel.I can't imagine losing you and our babies because you're my life.You are the reason why I wake up every single morning and look forward to the next day.You're the reason why I'm sane now, because when I lose you,I will go insane.I don't want to go back to the darkness that I'm trying to crawl away from."Luciano confession his inner fears.I know it took him so much courage to confess to me.

Everyone knows Luciano as the strongest, ruthless and emotionless king that has ever existed.They don't know that the emotion part of him exist too.They don't know that he feels sad, anxious,scared and he hurts like everyone else.Only people close to him know about it, especially me because he never hides any emotions from me.

I wrapped my hands around Luciano tightly, assuring him that I will fight for us.I was happy to know that Luciano cared this deeply about me, that he was afraid to lose me,and so was I.

After staying in each other's embrace for a while,we pulled off and Luciano's lips curved into a smile.He brushed hair strands from my face and tucked it carefully behind my ear.I closed my eyes momentarily to feel his touch before opening them once again.

"I don't want to keep you in a lockdown because you're not my captive.I'm giving you the desire of your heart.You can go and help out in the queen's office.All I'm asking you is to be careful."Luciano told me and I nodded my head at his words and smiled in assurance.

Luciano finally agreed to my suggestion to go back to the office.We woke up and headed to the bathroom to take a bath.Luciano cared for me and I allowed him to pamper me.

When we were done taking a bath,we changed into comfortable clothes and asked the kitchen servants to bring breakfast to our room.

Rebecca was not around because I let her go. I asked her family to come pick her up and she couldn't believe it. Becca was so happy to see her family again after such a long time. She promised that she would come to visit someday and I assured her that she is so welcome

Luciano demolished the slave camps and the slaves were allowed to go back to their homes. Those who didn't have anywhere to go were allowed to settle in the South and Luciano gave them free land because of the services that they have done for the Southern kingdom.He also gave them animals and farm inputs to start their lives.

Luciano accompanied me to the queen's office and my mother-in-law smiled when she looked at us.

"Mother, don't overwork her, "Luciano grumbled and I groaned at his words. However, he ignored my reactions, as though he hadn't heard me in the first place.

"You don't need to worry about anything."Luciano's mother assured him and he nodded."Take good care of yourself."He turned his head to look at me and I flashed him a gentle smile.

He planted a kiss on my forehead,he nodded to me then turned around and walked to the door. Luciano was about to twist the metallic doorknob but stopped midway and turned to look at me just to make sure that I was fine before he walked out.

Monalisa and my mother joined us later in the queen's office and helped us go through piled-up work. We talked about random stuff to keep us busy as we worked.

Luciano came to check on me and we ate lunch together. He couldn't stop serving me more vegetables and fruits.I could tell that Luciano took to heart the doctor's instructions…
