Chapter 143 The wedding

I looked at Luciano,my husband,the father of my pups,the love of my life,you name it.I couldn't help it but smile.

"Yes, I do," I said in a gentle but firm voice,enough for everyone to hear that Luciano is exclusively mine now!

I picked up the ring and slid it on Luciano's finger slowly,taking my time because it was my day.The crowd clapped for us.I looked my mother's way and she flashed me a broad smile, crying again.

"Is there anyone who has a reason why Hazel Del Mundo and Luciano Hernandez shouldn't get married? Please raise your hand."The judge said and we turned our heads to look at the crowd.It was silent and no one raised his/her hand in the air to oppose the wedding.

"Now I announce you as husband and wife."The royal judge said and the crowd cheered. I closed my eyes when Luciano leaned towards me,before I could wrap my head around what was going on,I felt his lips on mine.

"MINE!"He said in my head and Mia groaned in response. We are finally married! I'm exclusively his and he's mine! My lips curved into a smile as we continued to kiss and I couldn't help the tears that flowed down my cheeks…

The wedding ceremony was so smooth and everything was in order. My mother couldn't stop crying tears of happiness. She was happy that she witnessed her daughter getting married.I was happy too that she was there for me.

Monalisa, Alexa, Sebastian and everyone who attended the wedding congratulated us and wished us goddess's blessings. The food and different kinds of drinks were served and people ate to their heart content.

The music played in the background and the crowd danced to it. The music was slow and soothing. I watched my mother and grandpa as they danced to the cool music and I couldn't help but smile at the sight. They looked so young and much in love.

Monalisa and Gamma Jonas danced to the sweet music too. I was happy to see that Monalisa was moving on from the tragedy that happened to her. 

However, sometimes I could find her crying. I encouraged her so that she could know that she was not all alone,my mother and I assured Monalisa that we would always be there to give her a shoulder to lean on and we would always listen if she needed someone to talk to. Jonas spent more time with Monalisa so that she wouldn't feel lonely and that helped a lot

Hades was sitting on the wooden chair as he watched people dance and talk about business.

Mark was talking to his mother and they were smiling ear to ear. I know they were happy for Luciano. I'm glad that the relationship between Luciano and his family was good.

Seeing everyone joking around and smiling made me so happy because it was my wedding day and everyone was enjoying it. 

Luciano and I danced for a while on the dance floor.The king of forest kingdom called Luciano so that they could talk about something important and I allowed him.Luciano introduced me to forest king and he congraluted us before they walked away from the crowd to talk in privacy.

My mother looked my way and I flashed her a smile. I wanted her to know that just like she's happy for me.I'm happy that she found her destined mate and that they are staying together.

"My love, "I turned towards the source of the voice and smiled.

"I think we should get going,"Luciano told me, the corner of his lips curving into a smile and I couldn't help but frown at his words.

"Where are we going?"I inquired, frowning even more."Secret."He said and winked his left eye at me.Luciano held my hand and helped me to stand up from the chair.

"Hazel," I heard my mother's voice call my name and I couldn't help but turn around to look her way. Before I could say anything, she pulled me into her arms.

"I'm going to miss you so much,take care of yourself, okay."She said after we pulled off from the tight embrace. I turned my head to look at Luciano and he smiled at me with raised eyebrows then shrugged as though he didn't have any idea what my mother was talking about.

I know he knew it damn well but he was just trying to pretend. My mother and Luciano had grown close for the past few months. Sometimes I could find them talking and laughing, as though they had known each other for years and that made my heart melt.

"O-Okay."I nodded my head hesitantly. I know that even if I insisted on knowing what was going on, they wouldn't tell me. All I can do is calm down and watch what that little secret that they are keeping from me is all about.

My mother looked at Luciano and they exchanged silent words which I couldn't wrap my head around.I didn't care where Luciano was taking me,as long as we were going together, it was okay with me.That is how much I trust this man.The man who mended my shattered heart.

I looked at the people who are close to us and realised that both of them were exchanging silent words with their eyes.It was as though they were confirming something which they had already talked about.

By the look on Monalisa's face.I could tell that she know what was going on.I'm the only one who is in the darkness.

"Monalisa…"I was about to protest when Luciano tugged on my hand.

"We are running out of time,Hazel."He told me.When I was about to complain, I heard the faint noise of a plane and suddenly it appeared then landed on the top of the castle.

Luciano led the way, holding my hand into his and he never let it go. My lips curved into a smile and I submitted, following his lead. Nothing felt better than Luciano holding my hand as we walked.

We entered the elevator and soon we were on the rooftop. I looked at the yard and realised that most of the people were staring at us.I spotted my mother smiling at me and I smiled back at her.

"Take care of yourself, princesses. Remember to eat healthy and don't stress yourself too much."She told me through the mind link and I nodded my head at her words.

Just like any other mother,she was worried about her daughter.Even though I'm mature enough and soon-to-be mother, I loved that my mother was watching over me.

Luciano helped me to climb the plane stairs and he followed. I sat next to the window and straightened my gown so that it wouldn't take that much space. Luciano sat next to me with a smile on his face. The pilot started the plane and soon it departed.

"What about the queen's and king's duties? Who is going to take care of it when we are away?"I asked in a worried voice.

Luciano pulled me into a side embrace and planted a gentle kiss on my hair, giving my body a gentle squeeze.

"For the king duties, I took care of the important documents which needed my attention."He paused and gave my body a gentle squeeze.

"Hades will take care of the rest.Mark and Gamma Jonas are there to help too. I trust my men because we have been working together for years.I know their potentials."He assured me.

"Sometimes I would leave the kingdom for weeks and find everything in order when I came back.Incase something comes up,I know they will call to inform me so that we can see what we can do about it. However, I trust them and I know they will do a good job when I'm away."Luciano heaved a deep sigh.

"Grandpa is there to support and advise them too. I talked to the old man and told him to watch over my men for me when I'm away."He explained to me and the corner of his lips curved into a smile.

"What about the queen's duties?"I asked curiously.

"My mother is there to get the work done."He shrugged nonchalantly.

"Isn't it unfair to leave everything to your mother?"I protested, feeling guilty all of a sudden.

"It's going to be okay.My mother has been the Southern queen for over thirty years now. She has a great experience and she finds it easier to take care of the queen duties.''Luciano assured me.However I wasn't convinced, I felt as though I was overworking the former queen.

"I don't think we are being fair to your mother. She played her part as the queen of the South during her time."I paused and heaved a deep sigh, pulling off from Luciano's arms for a while.

"She needs to have a rest,Luciano."I grumbled.However, the corner of his lips curved into a smile.

"You don't need to worry about my mother because she's going to be fine. I talked to Monalisa and asked them to give my mother a helping hand."Luciano explained to me and I was quiet.Now everything made sense, Monalisa knew that Luciano had arranged for honeymoon away from the castle but she never mentioned it to me.

Luciano carefully pulled me in his arms and I let him hold me the way he pleased.I snuggled more closely and basked into his embrace.

"You don't need to worry about anything."He stroked my back and I closed my eyes because his massage was soothing after the long day.

"You deserve some rest too. I have never had a chance to take you out and have some alone time since we started dating."Luciano paused and heaved a deep sigh.

"When you give birth, I know we're going to be busy taking care of our babies and the kingdom."Luciano explained to me and I had to admit that he was telling the truth.I won't have that much time once I give birth to our babies.I will be required to take care of them and run the queen's duties.

"Can you just forget about the queen's duties and everything for a while?"Luciano asked me.

"I Just want us to forget about being royals, power and wealth.I would like us to be carefree for now."He said, his voice low and soothing.

I couldn't help but smile at his words. I wanted some alone time with my husband. I wanted us to forget about everything and focus on just us.I wanted us to pretend as though the whole universe had disappeared, leaving just the two of us…

The sun was setting and I took that opportunity to admire the beautiful sight.Luciano held me in his arms. I didn't want him to let go because it felt so safe in his arms. I felt protected from everyone who wanted to harm me.

After about twenty minutes of flight, the plane landed. I looked through the window and my eyes widened.I turned my head to look at Luciano and he smiled.
