TWO WEEK LATER

I have been preparing for this day the whole of my life because I knew there will be no escape.It is not a joke to be where the Southern Kingdom is now,we are among the strongest and most developed kingdoms.

All this success came with a lot of patience and sacrifices.It involved sleepless nights, tears,blood and some people lost their lives for this Kingdom to be this strong.

I'm grateful that I have supportive people who have always been there to encourage me when I felt like it wasn't working.Hades and Jonas gave me the biggest support to achieve all this. They helped me build this kingdom from ashes when it was destroyed by the werewolves and Lycans during war.

Even though we faced many rivals who wanted to pull us down, we always found a way to raise and defeat them.  My lips curved into a smile when I stared at myself in the mirror, I was wearing royal attire.

I turned my head to look at Hazel. The servants were helping her to apply makeup and she looked so beautiful even though they were not done.

I can't wait to make her my queen. It's going to be the first time in history for a half-breed to rule a Lycan kingdom. It wouldn't be possible without breaking the forbidden rules.

I'm glad that Hazel came into my life. She was like a dim light that was trying to penetrate in my dark life.I cling onto it so tightly because I didn't want to lose hold of it.

Hazel made me change my mind about everything.She made me change my mind about half-breeds and Werewolves that I hated because I thought that they were the reason why my father was dead.

Hazel has helped in building the kingdom.She helped us with her medical skills to build more digitised hospitals and improve technology since we were lagging.

The servants bowed for me and walked out of our room when they were done preparing Hazel, leaving just the two of us.I looked at Hazel and my lips curved in satisfaction. The make-up enhanced her natural beauty and her brown hazel eyes stood out.

I couldn't help it but imagine doing some sinful things to Hazel as I looked into those beautiful eyes.I took a deep breath and tried to bury the evil thoughts at the back of my mind.

"What?"She asked with a raised brow, the corner of her lips curving into a smile. I know she knew that I was looking at her that way because she looked so beautiful.However, she was just trying to tease me around.

"You look so beautiful."I complimented and she smiled broadly. She was dressed like a royal too and I couldn't help but imagine how the gold crown would look on her head.  I know it will fit her perfectly and there is no doubt about it.

"You don't look bad yourself.You look handsome too."Hazel complimented,  I carefully took her right hand and planted a kiss on her knuckles, behaving like the royal that I am.

"I can't wait to see you wear the golden crown on your head.I know it will fit you perfectly because you have always been a queen.My queen!"I said and she rolled her eyes playfully.

"Just not any queen. You will go down in history because you are the first half-breed queen to rule a Lycan kingdom."I said and saw her eyes well up but Hazel blinked countless times to hold back tears because she didn't want to destroy the make-up.

The wooden mahogany door of our room clicked open.My brother walked in,dragging my mother in the wheelchair with him. They were dressed like royals too and I couldn't help but smile at the beautiful sight.

"Luciano,are you ready?"My mother asked and I smiled at her, heaving a nervous sigh.  Even if I didn't want to admit it, I was so nervous about the crowning ceremony.

"Luciano, I'm going to confirm if my mother is ready. "Hazel informed me,she nodded at my mother and Mark then smiled at them before leaving the room. I know Hazel walked out of our room to give me some alone time with my family and I appreciated it.

"Nervous?"My mother asked and I nodded.  There was no need to lie to my mother because I knew she could see through my soul.

"It's normal for someone to feel nervous because the crowning ceremony is going to be attended by royal families and Southern kingdom citizens.I was nervous too the day I was going to be crowned the queen."My mother explained to me and her lips curved into a smile.She had dreamy eyes and there was no doubt that she was memorising how everything happened.

Mark was quiet as he listened to our mother's words. I couldn't believe that he had changed this much.  The stubborn Mark was buried in the past and now we have a new version of him. He listens carefully and thinks before making some crucial decisions.

"Son, I know you're going to make a good king because you have proved it countless times."My mother was quiet for a while  

"You have fought for this Kingdom to protect it from being taken over by the rogue king and other kings who wanted to take advantage because your father died."My mother paused and heaved a deep sigh,her lips curving into a smile.

"You have brought equality between Werewolves,half-breeds and Lycans.That was a good decision even though I was against it at first.You have done things that your father and I failed to do and I'm so proud of you,son."My mother said and her lips curved into a broad smile.

"I'm going to support you in every step that you're going to make when you become a king."I couldn't help smiling when I heard my mother's words. 

I'm so happy to know that my family is going to be there to hold my hand throughout my leadership journey.Even if I face difficulties, I know they are going to be there to give me the support that I need.

"I have some tricks under my sleeves even though I'm old."My mother said and we both laughed happily.

A grave silence reigned in our room after laughing. Mark cleared his throat and looked at me.

"I'm going to support you,big brother.I hope you trust me now and believe that I don't have any bad intentions towards you."Mark said and his lips curved into a smile. I nodded my head and smiled back at him.

"Just like Mother said earlier, you're going to make a good king," Mark said,his words meant a lot to me.I opened my arms for him and we hugged one another so tightly.

"I want you to know that I will always have your back, Luciano. "Mark assured me when we pulled off the tight hug and I couldn't help but smile.

"Even if I become a king, nothing is going to change between use.I will still be the same big brother who can't stop nagging you,"I said jokingly and we both laughed.

I turned my head to look at my mother and saw her wipe tears from her eyes.  I know she was so happy to see us showing affection to one another.

"Isn't your mother going to receive a hug?"She asked and opened her arms wide for the two of us.Mark and I looked at each other, exchanged some silent words and walked to our mother.We  wrapped our strong arms around her so tightly.

"I love the both of you so much. Nothing makes me so happy than seeing the two of you getting along."My mother said when we pulled off the family hug.

"Prince,we need to get going because the ceremony is about to start.We can't keep the royal judge and everyone waiting. We are ready and waiting for you."Hades informed me through the mind-link.

I turned my head to check the time on the digital wall clock and indeed we were running out of time.We have to get to the Kingdom Arena where all the Kingdom's functions take place, including the crowning ceremony.

"We should get going.I don't want to keep other royals waiting,"I told my family and they nodded. We walked out of my room, Mark pushed our mother's wheelchair and we headed to the exit.

The crowning was going to be carried out traditionally.The golden carriage was prepared to be used by the royal family.Just like Hades had told me through the mind link, everything was ready.

Hades smiled when he laid his eyes on me. Gamma Jonas had come back from the two weeks vacation and he looked so healthy and relaxed. I know he couldn't miss this important event because we have worked so hard for it.

"We have finally earned it!"Hades said and his lips curved into a broad smile.

"You're finally going to be the king of the Southern kingdom," Jonas said and I felt the happiness in his words.

"This wouldn't be possible if not for you guys. Thank you for the support that you have given me all these years."I paused and heaved a deep sigh.

"I will always be grateful for your loyalty and hard work."I nodded my head, agreeing to my own words.

"You have been a good leader to us.  You always showed us the right path and gave us a chance to speak our minds out and make some corrections where we felt as though something wasn't right."Hades said and looked at Jonas who nodded in agreement.

"We wouldn't have come this far without having a good leader.''Jonas backed up Hades's statement and I couldn't help but smile at their words.

I was so happy to learn that my men were satisfied by the way I led the kingdom. I always gave them a chance to give their opinion about everything before making the final decision.

We arrived at the kingdom's Arena after thirty minutes of travelling by carriage. The Arena is located some distance from the castle and that's why it took us some time to arrive.

I stepped out of the carriage and I helped Hazel to climb down carefully. The soldiers rushed to our sides and Hazel gave my hand a gentle squeeze.I know she was so nervous because the Arena was full.

I was nervous too.However,  I tried so hard not to show it on my face. I turned my head to look at Hazel and smiled, reassuring her that everything was going to be alright.

We walked to the special place that was specifically preserved for us and the ceremony began.The queen and king of Malianna kingdom had a chance to talk and advised us about the big task that was ahead of us when we became the queen and king of the Southern kingdom.

"I'm here right beside you, no need to be nervous," I told Haze through the mind-link and I saw her smile from the corner of my eyes.

The ceremony continued,the royal judge read the rules of the kingdom and I'm glad that the forbidden rule was not among them. The crowd cheered in happiness and shouted my name when they realised that indeed it was demolished.

The crowning time that I have been waiting for all these years finally came.I stood up and walked to the podium.I heaved a deep sigh to calm down my racing heart.

"Repeat after me."The royal judge said and I nodded in respect. I looked at my family and Hazel's and they both smiled at me,my men were happy too.

"I Luciano Hernandez of the Southern kingdom vow to respect the rules, rule in justice and I will treat all Southern kingdom citizens equally,"I repeated after the judge and the crowd cheered in happiness.

When I was done taking an oath,the judge carefully picked the golden crown and I leaned forward since it was shorter than me. I let out a deep breath when she finally placed the crown on my head.

"I officially announce the new king of the Southern kingdom, Luciano Hernandez."She announced in a bold voice for everyone to hear.

After being crowned as the king, I went to sit back on the royal chair where I was Sitting earlie.It was now Hazel's time to be crowned as  the queen of the Southern kingdom…
