Chapter 131 Longing

I looked through the window and realised it was already evening. I was not that surprised how the day ended that fast because I woke up late.

I spent the afternoon and evening with the ladies since the men were busy taking care of the kingdom. We ate lunch together while storytelling and I helped Lexa to take care of the twins.

I realised that Dean, the twin boy, is more stubborn than Ava. All in all, they looked so cute. Sebastian called Alexa to inquire how she was doing with the twins and she assured him that they were doing alright.

I heard the love that Sebastian has for his family and I couldn't help but smile. I was happy that Sebastian cared about them that much. He was doing his best to be a good husband to Lexa and a good father to the twins.

Heaving a deep sigh, I turned my head to look at Lexa who was breastfeeding one of the twins.

"Lexa, I think I should get going, "I informed her and she nodded in understanding, the corner of her lips curving into a smile.

"Thank you for helping me with the twins."She told me and I gave her a polite smile, "You can call me if you need anything or reach me through the mind link. Luciano gave you access to the kingdom's mind-link because you're now a member of this kingdom."I informed Alexa and she looked so happy when she heard my words.

"Can you please tell the prince that I said thank you?"Lexa asked me and I nodded. I looked at her one last time and smiled then left the room.

"Luciano, are you there?"I couldn't help but inquire, I have been trying to reach him through the mind link to no avail.

I know Luciano too well, he would have reached out to me because it's already evening and the sun is setting. Perhaps he's too busy in his office that he decided to block anyone who was trying to reach him through the mind link.

However, there was this knot at the tip of my stomach which wasn't going away no matter how hard I tried to shake it off.

"Perhaps he's busy with work."I convinced myself, making an excuse for Luciano because that is how much I love him. I know he would never mind-block me without any valid reason for doing so.

I wanted to go to Luciano's office to check on him and bring him a cup of coffee which would help him get through the evening but I decided to dismiss the thought.

I figured out Luciano might be talking about something important and I don't want to be the reason behind the confusion.

Taking a deep breath to calm down, I headed towards our room to wait for him to come back to me.

Our room felt so cold and quiet without Luciano around. I just wished he could be here with me, wrapping his strong hands around my body so tightly and burrying his head in my neck, inhaling my scent deep in his lungs like he has always done.

The thought of it made lips curve into a smile,I longed for him even more.

Taking a deep breath,I sat on the couch.I touched my belly and rubbed it gently, "Mummy is missing your daddy so much,"My lips curved into a smile.

"Mommy is missing Daddy because she loves him so much."I paused to catch my breath. Since I didn't have anyone around to talk to, perhaps talking to the babies might help me not to feel so lonely.

"I can't wait for the two of you to meet your daddy. He is a very good person. I know he will protect us from anyone who wants to harm us,he has already proved it a thousand and one times. I know he is going to be a good father to the both of you."I couldn't stop smiling. I talked to the babies and I felt them move in my stomach because of the rubbing effect.

"Are you agreeing to your mommy's words?"I chuckled, "Mommy will always be there to guide and listen to you even if everyone else wouldn't want to listen to whatever you want to say."I was quiet for a while then heaved a deep sigh.

"I know I'm not perfect just like everyone else, I have my shortcomings"I nodded, agreeing to my own words.

"However, I promise you one thing. I will try to be a good mother to both of you."I said and my lips curved into a smile.Whenever I thought that our babies were growing in my tummy and they depended on me,it gave me strength to keep on going. 

I waited for Luciano but he was nowhere to be seen.My eyelids become heavy with each passing second and I decided to lay on the couch to take a nap.

I woke up to someone touching my face and I couldn't help but frown in my sleep.

"Luciano,you have finally come back to me. I have been waiting for you."My lips curved into a smile as I blinked countless times to get rid of the blurry vision.

"Mother?"I frowned when I found out that it was not Luciano who was touching my face. I was disappointed but tried so hard to put on a smile. I realised that my mother was brushing hair strands from my face.

I looked towards the window and realised that darkness had fallen, "I have come to wake you up so that we can have dinner."My mother said and her lips curved into a smile.

"Dinner is ready?"I asked and she nodded, "Yes, I have been waiting for you to show up in the dining hall but you didn't. That's why I decided to come and pick you up."My mother informed me and I smiled.

"Where is Luciano?"I couldn't help but ask my mother, "I don't know anything about the prince and his me. I think they are still working on something. Your grandpa hasn't come back since he left too. I think they must be busy."I was relieved when I heard my mother's words.

"It's too cold, you need to wear something heavy."My mother walked to the closet, picked a heavy knitted sweater and handed it to me. I smiled at my mother and took the sweater then put it on.

I know I'm a big girl and I'm about to have kids of my own, however, I felt so happy whenever my mother pampered me. I know she was doing all this to make up to me for the lost seventeen years. We walked out of my room and headed to the dining hall to have dinner.

It was just us ladies since the men were not around. The queen was present, I smiled at her and he smiled back at me.

"You're awake, sleepy head, "I told Monalisa through the mind-link and she groaned at my words.

"Says someone who just woke up few seconds ago."Lisa told me and now it was my turn to groan. I sat on the chair and began to devour the delicious food.

I didn't eat much since I didn't have a big appetite, "Are you already full? Are you okay?"The queen inquired and I felt the worry in her voice.

"Yes, I'm already full. It's just that, I don't feel like eating much today."I explained and she nodded.

"It happens to pregnant women sometimes. I think it has to do with hormonal changes because when a woman is pregnant, the body undergoes many changes."She explained and I nodded in agreement because what she was saying was right.

"Remember to always eat something so that you don't starve my grandchildren.Even if you don't feel like eating, do it for the kids. And remember to always eat a lot of vegetables and fruits because that helps "The queen said and I smiled when I heard her words.

"I'm not that cruel to starve the babies to death."I joked and we both laughed happily.

I couldn't believe that the queen cared that much about her grandchildren.When she told me that she had accepted my relationship with Luciano and that we had her blessings,I couldn't help but doubt her words.

I didn't believe her entirely because I knew she used to hate our kind with passion.However,now I believe because I know she cares about them.

We talked some more in the dining hall about pregnancy experiences after we were done eating dinner.The queen,my mother and Alexa shared with us their experiences during their pregnancy. I bid everyone goodnight and headed to our room.I can't wait to wrap my hands around Luciano so tightly.

I frowned when I saw Luciano's men but he was nowhere to be seen. Hades walked towards my direction and by the look on his face, I could tell that something was off…
