Chapter 128 Family dinner
FEW DAYS LATER

I stared at my reflection in the mirror and my lips curved into a smile. I was wearing a red comfortable dinner dress, white flats, white fur coat and my hair was pulled up into a burn, leaving two hair strands on each side of my face.

Rebecca helped me to apply light make-up, enhancing my natural beauty. I was about to turn around because I was satisfied with my appearance when strong arms wrapped around me from behind and he rested his hands on the baby bump.

Luciano rubbed the baby bump gently and planted a gentle kiss on my cheeks, "You look so beautiful," He said and inhaled my scent deep as though it was the sweetest scent.

"You smell good too, "He whispered in my ear and nibbled on my earlobe,I couldn't help but moan.

"Not now, Luciano. We have dinner to attend, remember no one is allowed to miss it."I warned and all he did was chuckled. I looked at him in the mirror and I didn't miss that evil smile on the corner of his lips.

"We can always find an excuse as to why we didn't show up," Luciano said shamelessly and I groaned at his words. I was trying to be serious but Luciano was joking.

Luciano decided to take a break from work for the past few days and spend more time with me.Mark helped him with most of the work now that he knows how to run the kingdom.Luciano has been teaching Mark how everything is done and now he is a pro at it.

Hades and Jonas were there to support Luciano when he was too occupied. Mark and Hades were the ones who did most of the work because Jonas was taking care of Monalisa.He wanted to be close because Lisa is close to her due date.

Luciano brought some files to our room and I helped him to go through the kingdom reports and some business proposals. Sometimes things got heated while working and we ended up tangled in sheets.

The relationship between my mother and grandpa was getting better with each passing day. They spent most of the time together.Grandpa helped my mother to train so that she could gain her wolf's strength.

My mother's wolf is weak beacause it has been inactive for more than a decade.At some point,mom got discouraged because her wolf was so slow in gaining the strength.However, grandpa didn't give up on her.He encouraged my mother to keep on going.Our support lifted her spirit and she promised to fight to be strong for us.

I heaved a deep sigh and turned around to look at Luciano.He was wearing a black suit which fitted him perfectly and a white spotless shirt beneath the suit coat.His hair was tied into a ponytail and he looked handsome.

Luciano raised his eyebrows at me when he realised that I was staring at him.

"What?Have you decided to change your mind about the dinner?"A chuckle tore from his lips.

"Maybe some other day.We need to get going,I don't want us to be late for dinner."I held Luciano's hand and we walked out of our room because I knew things wouldn't go well if we stayed in our room any longer.

Monalisa and I arranged a family dinner to bring all of us together. I invited Alexa and Sebastian to join us because we have become a family.They arrived few hours ago with the twins,I welcomed them in the castle and showed them one of the guest rooms where they could rest as they wait for dinner.I'm glad that Luciano's father built a big castle which can accommodate many people.

The twins have grown over the weeks and they looked so cute.I carried them in my arms and talked to them even though I knew they didn't understand a thing.The feeling of talking to twins made me long to hold my own.The twin boy looked more like Sebastian,he has blue eyes like him.

"It's all your fault!"I told Luciano through the mind link and gave his hand a tight squeeze. Everyone was already seated on the table in the flower garden ready for dinner to be served.

"What took the two of you so long?"Hades asked and the corner of his lips curved into a wicked smile. Whatever he thought that we were doing that made us delay was something…

Sebastian and Alexa were sitting side to side. The twins were not around and there was no doubt that they had fallen asleep.

My eyes searched for my mother and I realised that she was sitting next to her mate.They were talking to the queen and I saw them laugh. 

The sight of everyone present and happily talking to one another made my heart flutter. Monalisa, Jonas, and Mark were present as well.

The sky was bright and it looked beautiful.I informed the head of the kitchen servants that everything was ready and they brought food.

Claudia,the head of kitchen servants poured wine in everyone's glasses except for me and Monalisa since we are pregnant,we can't drink wine.Claudia went back to the kitchen when she was done and silence reigned the flower garden.

"Monalisa and I arranged come together dinner so that we can celebrate how far we have come despite all the challenges that we faced as a family." I said and my lips curved into a smile.

I picked the glass of orange juice and raised it in the air.

"I would like us to cheer for the new beginning as a family,"I said, everyone raised their glasses and I could see smiles on their faces.

"Cheers to the new beginnings."We said in unison and cheered to one another.

I looked at Alexa and Sebastian who were sitting on the opposite side of the table and smiled at them. I wanted them to know that we are good.Alexa is now my Step-sister and Sebastian is my step-brother-in-law.

I turned to look at the queen and Mark who were sitting side to side and nodded at them.  They smiled back at me and drank their wine happily.I turned my head to look at Luciano when he touched my thigh under the table.

"This dinner plan is a good idea to bring our families together."He told me through the mind link and I smiled at him.

"Says someone who wanted to ditch dinner and do some other things…"I joked and Luciano groaned in my head.

Luciano served me.He knows all of my favourite dishes so I was not worried. We began to eat dinner while joking about random things.

"I really miss drinking wine.I swear I will drink to the fullest once I give birth to repay all the days that I watched you guys drink."Monalisa grumbled and we laughed.

"Don't tell me you're going to be a drunk mother."I teased Lisa and she groaned at my words as she sipped on her juice.

"Well,I won't allow our daughter to end up with a drunk mother."Jonas said and Monalisa looked at him with gravely eyes.

Luciano couldn't stop looking at me and each time our eyes locked,I couldn't help but smile at him and he smiled back.Dinner felt so lively and everyone ate to their heart content.The servants cleaned the table when we were done eating.

"I wish life could be this carefree,"Luciano and the corner of his lips curved into a smile. He looked around in admiration.

"I would have chosen a peaceful life if I had a choice.All I want is to raise our children in a calm world."Luciano paused and heaved a deep sigh.

"However, I think that would never happen because I was born in royalty and I'm a royal.I have every reason to get worried.I'm worried about the kingdom and everyone's welfare."The corner of his lips curved into a sad smile and he turned to look at me.

"Hazel,"  Luciano held my hands and gave them a gentle squeeze, "No matter the heavy burden that I carry, I will try to be a good husband to you and a good father to our kids."Luciano said and his words held a promise.He planted a gentle kiss on my forehead to seal the promise that he had just made to me and I couldn't help but smile.

It was overwhelming to see Luciano make an effort to make up to me.I know he has a very busy schedule and alot on his table but he always found a way to make sure that I didn't feel lonely or unwanted.

If Luciano is trying to be a good husband to me and good father to our unborn babies,I will give him full support.I will try my best to be a good and understanding wife and a good mother to our unborn babies.I know together we can be strong.I believe together we will make a good family too.

Marriage is a bed of roses and thorns.I know that we will face some challenges on the way.However,I just hope that we will grow even more stronger together.

"Hazel," I heard a feminine voice call my name.I turned around to check who it was and realised that it was Alexa.

"Prince,can I borrow Hazel for a while?"Alexa addressed Luciano in respectful way because it was necessary.

Luciano looked at me and I nodded at him, exchanging some silent words which no one could understand.Luciano looked back at Alexa and nodded in agreement then left the two of us so that we could talk in privacy.

"Here, I brought you a glass of juice."Alexa handed me,I smiled at her and took the glass of juice.

"I'm sorry but I can't give you wine because you're pregnant,"Alexa said teasingly."It's fine."I said and sipped the juice.

"What about we go to seat on the bench?"Alexa suggested and I nodded to her words. We walked in silence and sat on the wooden bench.

I looked around and realised that Sebastian and Luciano were talking and I saw them smiling.I never thought that one day Luciano and Seb would talk without threatening each other or even laugh.

It reminded me of the day that Sebastian sent his warriors to attack the South. The prince was so mad and promised to kill Seb if he ever tried to attack the South again.

"Hazel,I would like to thank you for helping me find my father."Alexa paused and heaved a deep sigh.

" I was so happy when he came to visit me in the East.I couldn't believe that indeed he was still alive.When I asked you to help me find him,I thought maybe he was dead.I had embraced myself to receive bad."Alexa smiled,I felt the happiness in her voice as she spoke.Indeed she was so happy to find out that her father was still alive. 

"I know how it feels to lose your parents.And the worst thing is if you don't know whether she/he is still alive or not. I have been there before and I know how it feels."I told Alexa and she nodded in understanding.

"When my father told me that he had found a second mate and that it's your mother, I was so surprised and I couldn't believe it."Lexa continued to explain and I gave her my ear.

"I'm happy that my father has finally found a second chance mate after so many years of being lonely.I saw the happiness in his eyes when he informed me about the news.."Alexa had dreamy eyes,she was recalling her father's look when he told her about finding his second mate.

"My father has been through a lot and nothing matters to me other than seeing him happy."Alexa looked at our parents who were dancing to the soothing song that was playing in the background.

"I'm happy for my mother too."My lips curved into a smile.

"Your father told me everything that he has gone through. My mother has gone through a lot too. I think they deserve to be happy."I turned my head to look at Alexa and she nodded at my words, agreeing.

"That makes us family," Alexa said in almost a whisper and I nodded to her words.

"I don't want our parents to be worried about us. I would like us to make things easy for them. Let's forget about everything and have a new beginning."I explained to Alexa and looked so happy when she heard my words.

"To the new beginning,lil sister."I raised my glass of juice and Alexa cheered.I'm one year older than Lexa and that makes her my little sister.

She's twenty-four years old and I just turned twenty-five a month ago.

"Cheers to the new beginning, big sister."Alexa said and I saw a twinkle in her eyes.

"Remember to always listen to your big sister."I joked and we both laughed.Our parents turned to look at us and they smiled.
