ONE WEEK LATER

I stared at my mother who was enjoying the morning sun in the flower garden and my lips curved into a smile.I'm happy that she was getting over the past with each passing day.

She had regained the skin colour and the scars on her body had healed. We used both scientific and herbal medicine to heal my mother because I knew scientific medicine was not enough. She had gained weight over the months and now she was glowing.

The only scar that remained was on the left arm.I think it will never fade away because it was so deep.The scar will forever remind her of everything she went through for the damn seventeenth year to see me again. 

As though my mother sensed that someone was looking at her from the shadows.She raised her head to look at the balcony and I smiled at her.

Now that my mother has found her wolf, she's able to sense danger, smell her mate and sense if someone is staring at her and I'm so happy. I was waiting for the time when she would finally get her wolf back so that she could go back to being strong like she used to be.

Even though mum looked so happy and she was smiling a lot. I could see the sadness behind those brown Hazel eyes which I inherited from her. I know My mother was worried about her mate. She had been longing to see him again because it had been one full week.

My mother confessed to me three days ago that she was missing Grandpa and I was pleased when I heard her words.I'm glad that she had decided to make up her mind and fall in love all over again. I hope grandpa won't break the promise that he made to my mother before he left the kingdom.

I hope he will come back to her.

I think it was a good decision for Grandpa to leave the kingdom for a while.The distance has made my mother realise just how much she is attached to her mate,the mate bond had become strong and she can't deny it anymore.She's longing to see him again.

The relationship between the queen and me is getting better with each passing day. She has been checking on me to make sure that I'm doing fine. She told me how Luciano was stubborn and daring while growing up.He is daring till date because he bend all the rules just to be with me.The queen showed me the pictures of little Luciano,he was chubby and cute.

There is no doubt that Luciano put in more effort to acquire the body that he has right now.

The queen and my mother talked things out and now they are in good terms.Mark talked to me and we settled the difference between us too.I have realised that he is a good person even though we don't talk that much.

I know Mark loves Luciano so because he risked his own life to save Luciano's when the rogue king wanted to slit his throat.Mark was just blinded by revenge and Nikolai brainwashed him, that's why he always thought that Luciano was the bad guy.

Mark opened his eyes and realised that Luciano was not a bad guy.He was just trying to protect them,to protect his family and all the people he love.

It's never too late for someone to change his ways and make up for all the wrongs that they did in life.That's why I forgave Mark and gave him a chance to reflect all the bad things that he has ever done and follow the right path.

Luciano kept Mark on toes by giving him some work to take care of because he didn't have anything to do. Luciano was so happy when he found out that the relationship between me and his family was getting better.

The day passed by pretty fast, Luciano came to check on me in between the day and we ate lunch and spent some time together before he went back to the office to work.

"Mother,  are you feeling nervous?"I inquired when I realised that my mother was looking at the gate which was heavily guarded by the soldiers to make sure that no intruder sneaks into the castle compound to bring trouble.

"I feel so anxious,Hazel.It's already in the evening and the sun is setting but he hasn't shown up yet.  Are you sure he will come back?"My mother asked and I felt the worry in her voice.

I smiled when I heard my mother's words.My mother was so open with me that she couldn't hide anything from me.

"You need to calm down, Mother. What about you distract yourself by knitting like you always do to keep yourself busy?"I suggested and my mother nodded at my words.

"You're right, I will try to distract myself."She nodded at my words, she picked up the half-knitted sweater and continued to knit it.

I tried to distract my mother with stories and it worked. I wished Monalisa could be around so that she could help me with this but, she was taking an evening nap. She had become too sleepy and I couldn't blame her for it.Monalisa is heavily pregnant and days away from her delivery.

Monalisa is going to give birth to a baby girl and I can't wait to see the small version of Lisa. I just hope that the girl won't inherit the grumbling behaviour from her mother because Lisa likes to complain about everything.

My mother and I were still storytelling when we got distracted by a knock on the door. I looked at my mother and she nodded her head at me.

"I will go to check who it is."She said and I nodded to her words. She walked to the door to open.A broad smile graced on her face and I couldn't help but frown, wondering who made my mother that happy.

Before I could wrap my head around what was going on, I saw a pair of strong arms wrapped around my mother and that's when I realised what was going on.

"Mate…"I heard my mother say in a whisper but my ears were sharp to pick up the words. I smiled at the sight and looked away because I felt a little bit shy to watch my mother hugging her mate.

I coughed intentionally and my mother pulled off from her mate's arms. The sight of their reunion made me miss Luciano so much.I wanted to share such a tight hug with him and to bask in his arms for a while and inhale his musk scent deep in my lungs.

I looked through the window and realised that the sky was turning grey and the sun was kissing the castle goodbye.I wanted grandpa and my mother to have some alone time to talk about their stuff because I know they have alot to discuss and it would be better to give them some privacy.

I lazily stood up from the couch and headed for the door.

"Hazel, thank you for taking good care of my mate when I was away, "Grandpa told me and I was speechless.He looked at me then looked back at my mother and she smiled.

"How are Alexa, Sebastian and the twins doing?"I tried to brush off the topic because it felt awkward.

"Alexa is fine.She was so happy to see me. She sent her greetings and told me that she will visit Southern kingdom soon."Grandpa paused and heaved a deep sigh.

"Sebastian is fine too, the pack is running smoothly.The twins had a fever and that's the reason why I couldn't leave Mountain Pack early. I wanted to make sure that they were doing right. I wanted to be there for Alexa and assure her that everything was going to be alright because she looked so worried. For a minute,she thought that she would lose the twins."Grandpa explained to us the reason why he came back late.

"I hope the twins are doing fine now," I said and my lips curved into a small smile. A smile of hope.

"They are a lot better now, there is nothing to worry about.  Sebastian sent his greetings too.''The old man said and I nodded to his words, accepting the greetings.

"It's good to know that they're doing fine.Alexa is welcomed to visit the kingdom."My lips curved into a smile, "I need to take care of something, in case of anything, just reach out through the mind-link."I informed my mother and grandpa then left the room.

Since I missed Luciano damn much,I decided to head over to his office. I twisted the metallic doorknob and walked inside the office without knocking.Luciano was talking to Mark and they looked so happy. They turned their heads to look towards the door when it clicked opened.

"Sorry for interrupting,I will come some other time."I smiled at them and nodded in understanding.However,deep down I was disappointed but I tried so hard to mask it.

I was about to walk out of the office but stopped when I heard Mark's voice.

"It's okay. Luciano and I are done talking anyway. I think I'm the one who is supposed to be leaving because I have alot of things to take of."Mark said as he stood up from the wooden chair.

"Luciano,see you around."He said with a smile and Luciano nodded to his words.  Mark looked at me and he nodded then left the office.

I remained standing in the same spot and looked at Luciano.  He stood up and walked towards me, his steps heavy and my heart thumped wildly against my ribcage.

Luciano closed the door behind me then carefully pinned me on it. He brushed hair strands from my face and then tucked it behind my ear carefully.

I closed my eyes to feel more of his touch but he stopped and I couldn't help but frown. I opened my eyes to look at him.

"Is everything okay?"He inquired and I saw worry in his eyes."Why do you look sad?"Luciano asked in a gentle voice, caressing my cheeks.I closed my eyes again to feel his touch and I didn't want him to stop.

"I came to your office because I miss you, Luciano.  I want to be close to you. I miss your touch, kiss and…"I paused and heaved a deep sigh.

"I just miss everything about you."I confessed and the corner of his lips curved into a smile when he heard my words. Mia groaned in my head.I knew she missed her mate as much as I missed him.

No matter how many hours and days Luciano and I spend together, I think we will never get enough of each other. The Ionging was overwhelming and I couldn't hold back anymore.
