~Alpha Kilhan~
“Thank you so much for coming,” I uttered with a wide smile, slightly bowing to my mother’s friends. “Please enjoy the party,” I added, before walking away.
I raised my head and looked around, scanning the living room for Celine but she was nowhere to be found.
While I moved further away from the guests, about to start a thorough search for Celine, I saw Charles running down the stairs, panting heavily.
I creased my brows and took long strides toward the stairs. As soon as our eyes met, I watched him struggle with trying to keep his composure.
“Come with me.” He whispered as soon as he got down the stairs. He turned a turn to the right and I followed after him, with the guards following closely.
“What’s going on? Where is Celine and Kendrick?” I asked, taking a glance around to make sure people weren’t watching.
“They are nowhere to be found.” He responded with gritted teeth.
“What are you talking about?? She was here with you minutes ago!”
“Lower your voice! People are beginning to stare.” He cautioned me, while his eyes were all over the place.
“Tell me what happened, Charles.”
“Betty came downstairs to ask if we had seen Kendrick. Apparently, Celine left him in her care, but she stepped into the bathroom one minute, and the next, he was gone. Betty said she was going to look for Drex, but she never came back.
“Then Celine went to look for her, while I looked for Drex here, and now I can’t find either of them.” He hurriedly explained.
“What? I saw Drex minutes ago. He wasn’t with Kendrick. He was alone.” I looked back, looking in the direction where I had first seen Drex.
“Look! Drex is here. He’s been going up and down, attending to guests. He was never with Kendrick.”
At this time, I began to fidget. I started imagining the worst thing that could happen.
“We have to find them! They can be anywhere.” I uttered, and Charles nodded.
“I know. I just needed you to know the situation at hand.” After speaking, he turned to look at the guards that were standing behind me.
“Spread out. I need you to find my sister and her son. We’ll keep an eye out for Betty.” He uttered. They bowed and spread out immediately.
At this point, everyone was beginning to stare and whisper to themselves, but I care less. I hastily pulled out my phone and put a call across to Celine. Her phone kept ringing and ringing.
“She isn’t answering the phone. Something isn’t right.” I muttered, looking around again.
Charles and I began to walk down the living room, our eyes scanning every crook and cranny of the room.
“Something…” Before I could finish speaking, Charles’ phone ringing interrupted. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and stared at the screen for less than a second.
I moved closer to him anxiously and listened carefully to his conversation.
“Caesar, tell me.” He uttered, putting his phone on speaker and putting it in close range to me.
“There are weird movements outside the house. At first, I thought it was just the party, but then there was a Van, a blue Toyota Hiace. It was parked in the dark, I could hardly see what was going on, but the movements were pretty sketchy.”
“Send me the coordinates right now.” He answered and turned off the phone.
“We have to leave, now!” Charles added in a loud voice, making his way out of the house.
I ran after him, ignoring the murmurings of the people. I couldn’t believe it. My wife and child were kidnapped under my f**king roof!
“What’s going on? What’s going on?” Their questions kept annoyingly piercing my eardrums.
“Alpha Kilhan! Alpha Kilhan!” I heard Drex call my name as I ran towards Charles’ car.
“Drex, I have to go right now.”
“What’s going on? I’m coming with you!”
“My wife and child are missing, okay? We are going to find her.”
“I’m coming!” He added, hoping in the back of the car.
“You should stay back and overlook things at the house. Charles and I can handle this alone.” I responded as Charles angrily ignited the engine.
“No, Alpha Kilhan. I’m coming with you. I’m your Beta, I should be by your side.” He insisted, and before I could respond, Charles answered.
“You better hold on tight then. This isn’t going to be a smooth ride.” He pulled back the gear. The car reversed and stopped all of a sudden, causing me to lean forward abruptly.
“I warned you.” He added, as he turned the steering aggressively and made his way out of the compound.
“Did you see Betty at all?” I asked, as I firmly held onto the grab handle.
“Betty? No, I didn’t. She was with Celine the last time I saw her.” Drex answered, his voice shivering as the car kept going up and down.
“I think she’s missing too.”
“What?!”
“He has sent the coordinates!” Charles yelled with his eyes on the road. “Grab my phone and check the message.” He uttered, and I nodded, trying to reach his phone, but I could hardly do anything.
We just kept jumping and struggling not to hit our heads.
“I can’t reach it. F**king slow down!”
“Slow down?! My sister and my nephew were kidnapped and you expect me to slow down?! Hell no.”
“But we need the f**king coordinates to track them down. Can I have at least a second to grab the damn thing?!”
He slowed down for less than a second and I hastily grabbed the phone and unlocked it.
“We are going to die before we get to rescue them if you keep driving like this!” I muttered.
“At least we died trying.” He answered.
I heaved a sigh and shook my head. I knew there was nothing I could say to stop him.
His phone started ringing again, and it was the same person, Caesar. I managed to answer the phone amidst the most terrifying and reckless driving.
I put it on speaker and moved it closer to Charles.
“Alpha Charles, I kept track of them until they turned into a street. Unfortunately, our cameras are not in this area. I’ve lost them. I’ve sent the most recent coordinates and video clips of where our cameras stop.
“You are three streets away from them, you should be able to catch up if you’re fast enough,” Caesar uttered.
“Thank you,” Charles answered and pressed the accelerator even harder.
“Be safe, Alpha Charles,” Caesar added before hanging up.
“Hang on, guys! This is going to get riskier.”
