~Celine~
After applying my natural makeup, I put on a white low-back dress. It had a low neckline that slightly revealed my cleavages.
I packed my black, shining hair in a slick bun and put on a silver necklace whose pendant rested perfectly on the top of my chest.
Applying a red lipstick to elevate the look, I took another look at my reflection in the mirror. A smile crept up my face as I admired myself.
I looked very beautiful.
"I will be visiting his mother, I need to make a good impression.’
Kilhan went to the hospital to bring her home, and she’s now in her room, waiting for me.
The door opened and Alpha Kilhan walked in dressed in a neatly tailored, wine suit. His shirt, trousers, and shoes were black. I instantly fell in love with his look.
“White?” He uttered, checking me out.
“You like it?” I asked boastfully, and he smiled and nodded.
“You look beautiful, Jessica. My mother is waiting.” He answered, offering me his arm.
In excitement, I accepted his arm and we both headed out of my room. Stepping out to the hallway, I realized the house was way busier than I imagined.
There were people, men and women, dressed in blue uniforms. I could guess they were in charge of the meals and drinks.
This wasn’t the only thing I noticed, almost everyone else wore black. I didn’t come across anyone wearing white.
‘Why am I the only one wearing white though?’ I wondered as we walked into another room.
There, a beautiful woman, around her mid-fifties, sat on the bed, her back against the bed’s backrest. Drex and one of the Omegas stood next to her bed.
“Jessica!” She called out in excitement, opening her arms. My face lit up instantly as I moved closer to her and embraced her.
“How are you, Ma’am?” I asked as I disengaged from the hug.
“I’ve never been better. I’m so happy to see you. I feel so well now. My name is Anna.”
“I’m so happy to finally meet you, Mrs Anna.”
“Oh please, just call me Mom.” She answered and I chuckled softly.
“Okay, Mom,” I answered.
“What about your parents? How are they?” She asked, holding my hands.
The smile on my face slowly faded off as I slightly lowered my head.
“I don’t have any,” I answered, gulping hard.
An awkward silence set in afterward, and I raised my head to look at Alpha Kilhan. He had a surprised look on his face because it was the first time he was hearing it too.
“Errm… Mom, we should continue this later. Time is fast spent.”
“Oh yes… when is the party starting?” She asked, and he took a glance at his wristwatch.
“In ten minutes. Mom, promise me you won’t come out of this room. You need to rest.”
“What?! But I need to celebrate Jessica’s stay here.” She answered, looking at me.
“Ma’am, I think Alpha Kilhan is right. You just got back from the hospital, you should rest. Don’t worry, we have enough time to spend together.” I assured her, and she nodded, letting out a smile again.
“Oh my… you’re so pretty and thoughtful! I’m so happy!” She exclaimed, embracing me again, causing all of us to chuckle.
After a while, we all headed out of her room so she could rest. Alpha Kilhan held my hand as we walked to the living room.
“I’m sorry about your parents.” He uttered out of nowhere, and I raised my head to look at him.
“It’s nothing. It was a long time ago.” I answered, and he nodded, smiling faintly.
Getting to the living room, we met the pack members gathered already. The living room was rearranged and a large table was placed at the center, with lots of delicious-looking delicacies on it.
There were about twelve to thirteen chairs around the table.
“Welcome home once again, Miss Jessica.” They all chorused as Alpha Kilhan pulled back one of the chairs in front. Shyly, I stepped in and waited for him to push the chair back before sitting.
Too much attention was on me and this made me very nervous.
After Alpha Kilhan sat, everyone proceeded to take their seats one after the other. Drex and Betty sat on the chairs closest to us and the others followed suit.
At the table, I noticed the same thing again. I was the only one in white and this was pretty obvious. Others wore black with a touch of other colors except white.
It was almost like it was planned. ‘Maybe they want me to stand out.’ I guessed.
Betty wore a short, sleeveless black dress. Her cleavage was pretty visible and her accessories were black, including her lipstick. She looked extremely beautiful in black.
“Clink! Clink! Clink!” Kilhan hit his glass cup with his fork and stood up. Everyone went silent and looked at him.
“Today is a great day for me. I must say today is the happiest day of my life. Having my mate by my side has always been my biggest dream, and today, that dream is a reality!” He spoke, and everyone clapped.
He raised his cups and so did I and everyone else. “Cheers to Jessica.” He added as everyone stood up to clink their cups.
“I’m so happy for you, brother,” Drex uttered, giving Kilhan’s hand a tight squeeze as we sat.
Soon, everyone began to serve themselves, and so did I. I turned to look at Alpha Kilhan and asked;
“What would you like to have?” I picked up his plate, ready to serve his food.
“I’ll eat whatever you want to eat.” He answered, making me blush.
“Are you sure?” I asked teasingly, and he nodded, folding his arms as he watched me select his meals.
First, I scooped a spoonful of white rice and put it on his plate. I added chicken curry, meatballs, and steamed vegetables.
I placed the plate in front of him, and he bowed slightly. “Thank you, beautiful.” He responded with a cute grin, causing me to giggle.
I served out the same thing for myself, and we both began to dig in. Everyone got talking, there were whispers, loud chats, giggles, and laughter.
Admiring how free they were with each other, I remembered my father’s house again. It was never like this. We never had such a beautiful dinner. It was always death and evil missions.
‘I’m so glad to be here.’ I said to Kiara, chewing on my food excitedly.
I looked at Alpha Kilhan’s plate and saw that he was almost done with his food.
Staring at the meals on the table again, I looked for something else to feed him with, and just then, my gaze fell on the peppered skewers. They looked so delicious.
I dug my spoon into it and scooped a generous amount. I moved it to Alpha Kilhan’s plate, and just when I turned the spoon over, Betty slid her plate underneath, causing the skewers to fall on her plate.
I raised my head to look at her, wondering why she did that.
“Kilhan doesn’t eat seafood. He’s allergic.” She uttered with a smile. “He prefers salmon.” She added, putting some salmon on his plate.
“Thank you, Betty.” He answered with a grin.
I let out a feeble smile and sat down as I continued to eat my food in silence.
‘I really don’t know anything about him.’
