Chapter 33 - All I want is you
Janine.
While I was still in the woods Monica returned with Mr. Ben, and they left the woods. I couldn’t come out because the guards were still there and remained hiding beneath those big trees.
I was still trying to understand what I overheard heard from Mr. Ben. What does he mean that I was a Beta wolf, my wolf wasn’t an Omega as I thought.
She was almost quiet like me and did not react much and on just a few occasions I have heard her in my head, almost like a whisper.
I have already decided that I won’t go back to the Baron, no matter what was gonna happen. I won’t go back to them.
My legs were starting to get cramped when I hid, and the guards were still searching for me, I waited till the night had gotten a bit darker before I shifted to my wolf form and ran.
I ran as fast as I could and was able to lose track of them when I went farther.
I didn’t count the days I spent in there, all I did was try and survive. I did hope that Kaden would come for me, I wondered if he would know that I had gone missing when he was busy at the ceremony.
It was the moment everyone was waiting for in the pack, and I don’t think there would be any time for him to think about me or wonder about my whereabouts.
I had little hope in that, and my wolf seemed already determined to protect me. After I shifted, I didn’t get a chance to transform back into my human form even when I was attacked by lone wolves.
I wanted to live and find my parents. I wanted to live and get back at Monica for everything she did, and I know I wouldn’t be able to do that if I let the lone wolves kill me.
Fighting the lone wolves was more fierce and intense than the guards, they had lived in the woods for long and were stronger than them.
If Kaden hadn’t found me, I would’ve stayed in that wood for a long time, and nobody would’ve known about my whereabouts.
I woke up quite early from a strange dream or was it a blurred memory of my past? Whatever that was, it woke me up.
I sighed and turned on my side just to find Kaden sleeping. His hand was on his jaw, and his eyes were closed, it seemed like he had planned to watch me throughout the night. I made him lay properly on the bed with his head against the pillow, and he didn’t even stir.
I smiled and scooted closer to him on the bed, and allowed my fingers to touch his face.
I wasn’t angry with him that he didn’t come sooner, I was glad he came, that he remembered me and found me important coming with the Soldiers to rescue me. I never thought of that. I placed my head on his chest and listened to the sound of his heart beating against my ears.
When his hand went around my waist, I felt he was waking up, I pulled my head up, and let my fingers trail along the features of his face.
Kaden.
I wanted to call his name, to know how his name would sound in my mouth.
After Kaden’s Mom came to inform us about breakfast, she left.
I had to get dressed and join the Alpha family for breakfast. A maid assisted me with everything I needed and helped me with a bath.
She came back to the room with a dress that was oversized.
“The Luna wants you to wear this.” The maid said and gave me the floral dress. She helped me to zip it up after I wore them. She took my hand gently and led me towards the mirror. “Look at you.” She smiled while smiling. “You’re beautiful despite your scars.”
I stared at her, she reminded me of the first maid in our house, Nana. They accused her of poisoning my food when I was ten and sent her away.
She was the only nice to me in that house and I never believed that she poisoned my food when I was at that age.
I turned away from the older woman beside me, she was shorter with gray hairs and small eyes. I stared at myself in the mirror. The dress was armless, and it was a full length.
I twirled around, it was a beautiful dress.
“Have a seat, I will bring you some sandals. I have seen your size. The Luna wants you to know that you may have to use her things for a while before they can get yours.” The maid smiled and scurried out of the room only for her to return shortly with brown sandals.
She squatted and wore them on my feet.
“They are beautiful, and so are you...” She paused as if to think about something. “Janine.” The smile on her face broadened. I returned it and stood up from the bed.
“You should head downstairs for breakfast with the Alpha.” She lowered her head at me, I shook my head, I didn’t want her doing that to me when I wasn’t entitled to anything.
She seems to understand. “You’re the Alpha’s mate. You’ll have to get used to it and every worker in the mansion will treat you the same way.” She explained.
“Come. I will take you downstairs.” She walked toward the door and led me out of Kaden’s room, I glanced at the room before I left, there were several posters of basketballs on his wall and a picture of him with his parents smiling brightly, he looked the happiest when he played sport. The trophies he won were arranged on a shelf close to the bed, and the Alpha title was placed above them.
I walked out of the room and took the stairs. Our moments were beginning now, and I didn’t care what others would think about me anymore, I just wanted to be with Kaden.
