Chapter 29

**Susan's P.O.V**

The Black Crest Wolf's was my pack and family. We all have been their for each other in sickness and losing love ones. My family has aided so many elders that was in the miscommunication with pass rouges. My mother was attacked by one. She told me once that she blessed by the moon goddess herself. She also said that my brother and I was bless with talents of our fathers bravery and courage. For that, I am grateful to be able to have a family and a pack like mine. We are all unique in our own ways.

Who knows, legends maybe come true.

"Hello darling, you finished whipping the tables?" Milly's voice drifting me back to reality.

"Um, yeah. This is the last one." I said giving the table one last wipe clean.

Milly walked up to the doors to switch the sign from "Open" to "Close". Suddenly, the door opened with a Crash. Milly fell back with a thud.

I gasp and ran to Milly's aid. I didn't bother with anything else, I took Milly's hand in mine. I helped her up as I hear footsteps behind us.

Milly moved my body behind hers and looked at who made her take such measures. There was a man with two others. The first man, tall with dark hair and dark brown eyes. He was build like a wrestler. The other two men were twins. High cheekbones and muscled. Brown eyes like stones as the stand legs apart and arms tense at their sides. Each had a hard and unreadable expression.

"What's wrong, Milly? Aren't you going to serve us some of of your sweet dishes?" He said and he took a chair. He swings it around and sat on it. He folds his arms to his chest and placed it on the back of the chair.

"Not with the likes of you, Declán." Milly said sneering at him.

So that's his name, Declán. I thought to myself.

"Aww, Milly. Don't be like that. We are friends, are we not?" Declán said smiling with devilishly smile on his face.

I don't like the vibe that Declán is giving off.

Time to put that werewolf nose to its task. My inner beast said with a smile on her face.

I kept my face neutral, not wanting them to sniff my scent. I sniffed the air, smells of food, sweat and sex filled the air. Finally, I caught the scent of Declán and his henchmen.

They are humans. Humans. No wolf scent whatsoever. Something is really wrong. And I don't like it one bit. I have to tell my dad.

"We are no friends, Declán....." I heard Milly say as I came back to reality. His smile became shadowed. With uneasiness running through my body, a low growl managed to escape from my mouth. Then, all eyes in the room turned to me.

Declán's eyes seemed to flicker a shadowed emotion. Perhaps he feels threatened. He slowly got off the chair slowly and in anger he flipped the chair to the other side of the room. The chair crashed into the wall before falling into large pieces.

Yep, something is really, really wrong.

I gulped hard and small beads of sweat started to form on my lower back. As Declán walked closer, my heart pumped harder with each footstep that he takes. Milly hid my body with hers' even more. His brown eyes got darker, the twins stiffen as he looked at us or maybe me like prey.

"Get out, Declán." Milly's voice was stiff with hate.

"My, who is this cute thing? Hmmm.." Declán said stopping to gazed at me in lust.

"Leave her alone. This is between you and me." Milly said almost growling like a wolf.

"Shut up, old woman. Who's the girl?" Declán's voice echoes harshly through the café.

"No one that you should know." Milly says sternly. Her body tensed as mine was gripped in fear.

Before I could blink, Declán's tall figure moved fast across the room. He took Milly by the arm and pushed into her chest. Her body was pushed a tossed the room into the bottom of counter. Milly's body slumped, her head bowed and body slowly slid to the floor. She laid to her side, bun slightly out of place and face to the floor.

"Nooooooo....." The word came out of my mouth as tears began to form in my eyes. I ran to Milly, only to stopped by constructive arms of muscles around my waist. "Let me go." I said yelling constantly. The more I moved the more I feel like air was impossible to get. Tears came down my cheeks as Declán laughed at me.

"Go on the lookout. Make sure no one comes in. I want have fun with my new plaything." Declán said to the twins, who nodded. Declán sniffed my hair and the twins walked away without looking back at me.

"No, no, no. Let me go. Please!" I said pleading. I was scared. Beyond scared to even process what Declán is about to do to me.

He throws on the ground face first. My cheek exploded with pain and I winced with the impact. Declán took my left hand and flipped me over on my back. He chuckles evilly as his fist comes slamming onto my face. I screamed in pain as I feel the numbness running in my body. Tears pouring out. He then took me by the leg and dragged me as I tried fighting him off. He punched me again.

I kicked him on the leg as he grunts in pain. I kept kicking him. And he kept blocking my kicks with his hands. I managed to get away from him. I stumbled and grabbed onto one of the tables. Before I could stand up fully, I felt a tug on my hair. Declán had my hair in his hand and my neck wrapped around in his fingers.

I feel my teeth begins to crown in my mouth. My wolf growls in fury. She lets out a loud and sicken roar. It echoed through the café. The window in the café shattered to a million pieces and falling with clanging noises. Declán let's go of me and I crumble on the floor.

Laying on the floor, my vision blurs in and out. Before my eyes closes, I see a familiar pair of boots. As my eyes drifts up, it sets on a face that I thought I would never see again.

Nick O'conner came back. Nick came back to save me. My mind began to shout over and over.

My body felt like it was floating. I let out a breath of relief and choking sobs racks my body.

There Nick stood in glory. A man that looked like he was ready for war. I hardly paid any attention to what was coming out of his mouth. His jaw tense, eyes blazing and fists at his side. I groaned as the pain intensified in my body and ran through my veins. Our eyes made contact, his softened as he took in my appearance. My eyes burned as no more tears decided not to flow anymore.

He smiles warmly as he bends down to pick up my crumpled body from the ground. I whimpered as his fingers touch my body. Shocks of fireworks went through my body.

Mate!! My wolf chants to me in my head.

Nick is my mate.

I was happy, shocked and confused. So many emotions ran through my mind.

"I got you, Susan. It's okay, sleep." Nick said to me as I looked him in those chocolate brown eyes. He looks at me warmly. His smile was a small one. I lay my head against his chest as I hear his heart beat.

Darkness blurred my vision one last time.

And when it came, I welcomed it as my body begins to shut down.
