Chapter 75 SARAH

Chapter 75 SARAH
SARAH

My heart is beating faster as I take them to the forest where the witches' coven is. This is where they have been hiding after the war years ago. A war I didn’t witness. It was during the war that all the witches were killed by Selene. Fortunately, some of the witches survived. My parents included.

Since I was born even before the death of my parents, I have always been told that the lycans and werewolves are our enemies. That Selene killed our brothers and sisters and we should avenge for them.

My father died two years after I was born. My mother blamed me for his death. She was there but it was as if I had no mother. I received no motherly love. All she did was train me to become the lycans and werewolves hater.

I was with the coven with that revenge of a thing until I realized that I don’t need to spend half of my life harboring a grudge I know nothing about. There’s two sides of a story and when I married Jerald he told me their own side of the story.

The witches were killing them and Selene had to step in and protect her children. The witches are the people that started it all and now they are acting like the victims. Raising the next generation with grudge and thirst for revenge.

Their thirst for revenge made them join hands with the devils. A deal I know they will regret because a devil has no friend. I realized this on time even before I fell in love with Jerald and decided not to live my life like my kind. I’m treated more like a person by the werewolves and lycans than the coven. And I won’t join them to blindly trust the devils.

I will do everything I can to stop this war. It's also for the coven's sake. The devils won't spare them if they escape hell and have power to themselves.

“We are here. What do you plan on doing?” Nikolia asks. He’s impatient.

“This is where the witch's coven is. I just need to chant some spell to break the magic hiding the coven.”

“Then start doing it.” Alpha Ezekiel cuts in firmly.

“I will do it but the problem is that I’m not sure if it will work. I’m banned from the coven, so my access to it is revoked too.”

Lena scoffs. “What the fuck Kiel. Should we waste our time trusting this witch? We need to force her to tell us where Dalia is. She’s obviously wasting our time here.”

“Why do you look tense Lena. It shows you are hiding something.”

“Cut the crap bitch and tell us where Dalia is!” She snaps. She’s almost red from anger. I can see how tense she is. She’s scared we will catch her. Can’t Alpha Ezekiel and Nikolai see what I’m seeing?

“I give you ten minutes to prove that you are not deceiving us, Sarah. If you don’t do anything by then to lead us to Dalia. I will kill you.” There’s a strong sound of warning in Alpha Ezekiel's voice. His face is rigid and he’s not joking at all.

I gulp down as I rub my sweaty palm on my jeans. My heart is beating so fast and I’m praying that Dalia should talk to me.

“I will start now.” I mutter as I bring out the magical tools with me and put up an altar. If I’m not banned from the coven, I wouldn’t have needed this but now it’s my only hope.

After setting up the altar. I take a deep breath as I begin chanting the spell. I can feel the energy but they are not letting me in. This is going to be hard. This is me trying to break up the magic set up by five power witches.

I don’t give up, I continue to chant the spell. At some point, I make a small cut on my finger and let the blood drop on the altar. This is a powerful source but I’m still not sure if it will work.

A lot of energy is leaving my body and it’s slowly affecting me. I’m getting weak but I keep pushing. I pushed to my limit and I broke. I cut the spell with a force as I stagger forward and cough out blood, my body shaking and breath heavy.

“Are you okay?” Alpha Ezekiel asks. At least he cares. Maybe there’s still hope.

“I can’t break it. The magic is powerful.” I replied weakly.

“Then what? If you can’t break it, how are we going to believe that this is where Dalia is?” Nikolai spat.

“It’s a very strong magic. I tried but I’m not powerful enough. But believe me this is where Dalia must be because the witches are the ones that took her. There is no other place they would have taken her to if not this place."

“This witch is making a fool out of us Kiel.” Lena is still trying to make Ezekiel not to trust me.

I’m about to say something but the ringing of Alpha Ezekiel’s phone cuts me off.

He brings out his phone from his jeans pocket and his eyes widens the moment he stares at the screen.

“It’s Dalia.” He mutters staring up at us. I let out a breath of relief as my eyes flicker to Lena who looks pale as a ghost. I smile. It’s over for her.

“Dalia. Where are you? You got me worried,” Alpha Ezekiel says in one breath. Beta Nikolai is carefully paying attention to him and he looks as relieved as I am.

“Ok. I’m on my way home right now.” He hangs up and turns to us. “Dalia is at pack house. We need to go.”

“Is there a problem, Lena?” I ask with a smirk as I see her shifting nervously on her feet. She glares at me, ignores me and walks to the car. She’s scared. I can see it, but she also seems relaxed. Does she have a plan? Or maybe she thinks that Alpha Ezekiel won’t believe Dalia if she tells him who she really is.
