Chapter 76: Dalia
DALIA
The witches thought they were wise. I played along with them in their game. That night I followed Lena into the bush and they knocked me out. I regain consciousness after a while and I realize I’m in the trunk of a car. I didn’t make a sound or alert them that I’m awake.
I carefully raise my head a bit to know how many there are. There are about three girls. One is controlling the wheel while the other is sitting beside her. The third one is in the back seat.
I’ve been thinking of how to steal the prophecy book from the witches and I came up with a plan. If I want to know what their plan is, I will have to enter their mind.
I close my eyes as I try to enter their mind. I have been learning how to enter people’s minds and finally I figured out how to do it without even them knowing. They won’t detect my energy or know that someone is snooping around in their mind.
To enter someone’s mind, I just have to relax. Gather all my energy as I try to focus and channel my power on the person I want to enter their mind. And if I want to leave their mind, I will also do the same. I will try not to stay more than five minutes in their mind or else I will be trapped in their mind . I don’t know how it escaped my mind, but I remember my mother teaching me this. It’s one of the powers I possess.
My mother told me that I possess a lot of powers. Ones even beyond me and slowly I will discover it all. At first, I thought my mother was selfish for sending me away to go stop the war without telling me what to expect but now I realize that it is beyond her powers. This is my destiny. Only I know how to fulfill it.
Only I can find the answers and my mother had her trust in me. She guided me and taught me a lot of things that would help me. I’m able to do a lot of things right now is all thanks to my mother
Ezekiel is yet to tell me what she did to him in the past, but whatever it is, I believe she has her reasons. He thinks he shouldn’t trust her and I shouldn’t trust her too. Maybe there was a point in my life I thought so. A point when I didn’t feel her love but now I think I understand her. Not fully, but I will give her the benefit of the doubt.
Focusing my mind on the girl driving the car, I slowly enter her mind. I want to know what their plan is. Maybe I can even find out where they are hiding the prophecy book. I didn’t find much in the girl’s mind except that the witches are working with the devils.
I leave her mind and enter the mind of the girl on the passenger seat. I find something in her mind. Something very important. There aren't two groups of witches working differently. It’s only one group and Tudor is helping them. Tudor is the one that sent those strange creatures that nearly killed me at the dungeon. He acted on his own and the witches were mad at him. I wonder how he made those creatures, though I didn’t find any clue from her mind.
The coven sent Annika to bring me out of the pack alive. When she failed, they sent another one known as Lydia.
Lydia is the witch that put a curse on Samara. Lena helped her and now Lydia is dead. Tudor killed her, but they don’t know why.
The witches want me dead because they need my blood. Apparently, my blood is needed to open the gate of hell. My death is the key to open the gate of hell and that’s why the witches want me at all cost. And for that to happen, they will sacrifice and cast a spell on me. It will help open the gate of hell.
I’ve already spent more than five minutes in her mind. If I stay longer, she will catch up and then I will be trapped. I quickly left her mind. I got useful information from her mind. Now I know why they need me alive. I can’t believe that I am the key to open the gate.
I still need to know about the prophecy book and where they kept it.
I focus as I enter the third girl's mind. Her mind is strong, and it’s hard to penetrate. She has a strong magic. I think she’s a powerful witch. Entering her mind is taking a risk. She will catch up on me even before five minutes elapses. But I still take the risk. I enter her mind and quickly search to know if she knows where the prophecy book is.
Luckily I found it. They kept it in a sacred library. I etched the location in my mind. I’ve not done this before. But I will still give it a try. It’s the only way to get that book.
But the problem is that I can only teleport to places I’ve been to and know very well, and not to places I get through someone’s mind. Yes, I etched the location in my mind before leaving her head, but it will still be hard for me to teleport there since I haven’t been there before.
I gave it a try and I failed ten times. During those ten times I failed, I appear in unknown places and luckily I didn’t meet dangers in those places. I even appeared in my office at the pack hospital. I wanted to go tell Ezekiel that I’m fine, I’m sure he must be worried about me now but it’s not the right time. I need to get the book first.
For the eleventh time, when I feel so weak and exhausted, I even cough out blood. I appeared at that library and of course there’s magic protecting the book. They put a spell to alert them when someone who is not meant to touch the book touches the book.
I found out the moment I picked the book and tried to focus on teleporting and then I heard footsteps approaching. Luckily, I was able to disappear before they entered the library. I was not able to focus my mind on where I should appear so I found myself at the pack’s border.
I’m already so weak and it’s already late morning. I exhausted a lot of my power. I still need to teleport back to the pack house. I’m not with my phone. I would have called Ezekiel to come pick me up.
With the last strength I have, I teleport back to the pack house and I find myself in my room. I cough out a large amount of blood but I still manage to find my phone and call Ezekiel before I collapse on the floor with blood all over my body.
