Chapter 67 DALIA
DALIA
“Her portrait alone won't be enough. We need something that belongs to her,” I say as I give her Lydia's portrait. My mother taught me the location spell, but I can't quite use it well. I will have to master it. I have a lot of potential with my powers and I will have to discover it all.
“I have my way. It's one of my specialties. As long as I have the person's portrait or photo, it will help. Although it's not a hundred percent certain. Let me say out of sixty percent of times I've used it, it has only worked for twenty percent. ”
“If it doesn't work, we will have to involve Ezekiel. We don't have any choice.” I say and she nods. She spreads the portrait on the floor as she sits with her legs folded. She looks at me, I give her a little nod. She does the same as she closes her eyes and starts chanting. I watch her closely as her body shakes. This is definitely taking a lot of energy from her.
I plan to wake her up if it looks like she will lose herself in the spell because it happens sometimes when you use a spell that drains a lot of your energy, but after a while she opens her eyes with force and blood drips from her nose. She definitely strained her powers.
“You shouldn't have pushed your limit,” I say as I hand her a wipe. She cleans the blood, panting. Her face looks horrific and pale. I'm sure what she saw was bad.
I gave her time to catch her breath before asking, “Did you find her?”
She nods without saying anything. She's still trying to catch her breath.
“Did you see something bad?” I ask again and she nods. I suspect as much. I wonder what she sawm
“I found her, but she's dead already.” She breathed out her words.
“What!” I exclaim with a shock expression. “Are you sure? How could she be dead? How the fuck did that happened?”
“This shows that the witches can go to any extent to protect their cause.”
“You mean they killed her so we won't find her and make her spill the truth she knows?” I ask and she nods. That means they already know that we are trying to find her.
Sarah stands up slowly, looking weak. I think she used much more power than I thought. If only she had any of Lydia's personal belongings, it wouldn't have taken much energy from her.
“Who could have killed her….” She pauses and looks at me with a knowing look. We are both definitely thinking the same thing.
“Lena.” We speak at the same time.
“It definitely must be her. It has to be her, I can't think of anyone else. She knows that we know about Lydia's presence in this pack. But she could have asked her to run away. Why did she kill her?”
“Maybe something happened. Or maybe Lydia suspects we will find her and she kills herself like Annika did.”
“You are right. I knew it…. She will kill herself before we get to her. I wonder why they are so loyal to that coven that cares about nothing but themselves,” Sarah says.
“They are probably still in the dark, unlike you. And about Lena, we are not sure if she's working with the witches” I cut in.
“I'm sure that scent belonged to her. She's the witch that came here with Lydia. Listen Dalia, this is not the time for us to be confused. We need to clear our confusion as soon as possible. We need to know if Lena is a friend or a foe. I told you not to tell Alpha what we discussed but I think you should. And he has to avoid Lena until we find out the truth.”
“We can tell him about other things but not about Lena. He will never believe that Lena is an enemy without evidence because he has known her all his life. There's no logical explanation to why she would betray Ezekiel. What could she benefit from helping the witches?”
“A lot. More than you can imagine. You don't know her, Dalia, and you don't know what she desires. Yes there's no logical explanation but that doesn't mean there's not a chance that she could be an enemy. Everyone has their own motive in this war of life, Dalia.”
“I know.” I sigh and sit on the edge of the bed. “I will find a way to tell Ezekiel. I will make him understand that I'm not trying to ruin his relationship with Lena. We just want to know who our friends are and who our enemies are. But before that, I need to find something in Lena that will make him believe me.”
Sarah nods and moves close to Samara. She strokes her hair gently and I can see the love she has for her child in her eyes. She's definitely worried about Samara.
“She will be fine. I promise that she won't get caught up in this.”
“I trust you, Dalia. I do. But I hope you understand that I'm a mother and I love Samara so much. She and Jerald. I don't think I will be able to live if anything happens to them.”
“I know that you are worried about Jerald but you need to understand that what he did will definitely attract punishment to him. But one thing that I can assure you is that the punishment will certainly not be death.”
“What do you think it will be?” She mutters.
“I don't know but I'm sure it will be a merciful one.”
“I think Lena is a siren. She tried to use her powers on me to make me not tell you guys anything, but it didn't work on me. I knew because I felt that someone was entering my mind. And sirens are good at that. When they noticed it didn't work, they threatened me.”
“Yes. She's a siren. Ezekiel told me. That's one of the help we used to get you out of the mental hospital.” I replied.
“She has been helping you guys, gaining your trust. I think it will be hard to distrust her.”
“She was definitely playing us all.”
There's a little bit of silence before she speaks up. “There's something I saw when I found Lydia. You know, sometimes if you use a location spell to find someone, you can read their mind and learn the last thing they thought about. I think that before Lydia was killed, she had only one word in her mouth….. Tudor.”
“Tudor? Do you mean Alpha Tudor of dark Valley Pack?”
“Yes.” She replies. “ And Lydia definitely died in his pack. Whether that place I found her is Tudor's pack or not, all I know is that Lydia didn't die in this pack.”
“Could it be that Tudor is the Alpha working with the witches?”
“I think so.”
Leon says that his mother used to go to the dark valley pack, which is Tudor's pack. Is there any connection between Tudor and Mrs. Adams? This shows that Annika truly didn't take over Mrs. Adams body in Ezekiel's pack. Could it be that Tudor helped Annika to take over Mrs. Adams body.
“If we get to Tudor, we can get to the root of all these. So you need to tell Ezekiel,” Sarah says. I nod, agreeing with her.
