Chapter 34
Alpha Lennon
In the pack, I had no one who was related to me by blood. The last person who could have been useful to me now was my father, who was dead. But maybe, if I tried to find some sort of connection in the pack, I would be able to get a few of my blood-related step-siblings or something because my father was known for having multiple affairs after my mom.
"Yes, I am ready to give you that. But you have to give me enough time. I will surely come back with the reward." I shifted right in front of her and marched out of her old house.
It had been a week since I had seen the seer, and my mind was still racing with ideas for how I could find my blood relative in the pack. Maybe I could ask Delta about my father's affairs if he knew about any. It was so frustrating that whenever I was close to Daphne, something would happen, and it would create hundreds of miles of distance between us.
I angrily pushed open the door of my chamber and was startled for a second when I found Yvette waiting there on my bed. It was very uncommon for her to be in my chamber in the middle of the day when Beta Jaime was not on duty. I instantly closed the doors behind us and, with angry steps, I walked towards her.
"What do you think you are doing here? I told you that we needed to be more careful. Now just get out of here!" I grabbed her arm and tried to make her move out of my room.
But she protested against my forceful eviction of her and pushed me away with her hands.
"Stop it, Alpha Lennon. You are crazy. She spat out. "I knew it. You are worried that Jaime might catch us. If that’s the case, then you shouldn't have started this affair with me."
"Just shut the f*ck up, Yvette!" I ran my hands through my hair. This b*tch woman was my downfall!
She touched my face with all sorts of loving expressions on her face. "Listen, I need to tell you something."
"You can tell me about it tonight. But for now, I have to do something very important, so you have to leave." I was in no mood to listen to her stupid stories when I had to find the person who could help me find Daphne.
"It's more important than that." She blushed as she took a seat in front of me.
"What's it all about?" I was growing restless, and her acting all weird didn't help either.
"I am pregnant." She told me without moving her gaze away from me.
As soon as the words left her mouth, I found the world spinning around me. It was as if I were punched in the gut, and it became impossible for me to keep on standing in one place.
"What?" This was the only word I was able to speak out, and others remained stuck in my throat.
"What? What's that reaction for? I am so happy about our future together. This child will bring fortune to the pack, and I won't be childless again." She ran a long hand over her belly.
"And you think it's so easy! What will they say about this bastard? Have you thought of that?" I squeezed her arms painfully, and she hissed out in pain.
"Lennon, stop. You are hurting me!" She cried out in pain.
"Yvette! This is going to be disastrous!" I shouted, not caring if anyone would hear me.
"This won't be. I will leave Jaime for you. Mark me as your mate, and make me the Luna of this pack. They need me and my child. No one will protest if you agree." Her eyes shone brightly as she spoke of being the next Luna.
"This is absurd." I left her arms and closed my eyes to calm myself down.
"You can't say that. This child is yours. It's your blood, Lennon! He deserves the recognition," she said.
My ears pricked at her words. My blood. My child.
I stared down at her stomach, and the words replayed in my head. The seer wanted my blood. And this was my child.
So to get what I needed, I had to extend my act of deceit. She needed to believe that I wanted her to be my mate and raise the bastard little pup.
With that in mind, I touched her belly with tears of happiness in my eyes. "Oh, yes. Yvette! You are right. I’m so sorry if I reacted violently. I was just surprised."
"It’s okay. "What is important is that you accept your heir." Her voice was soft again, and she relaxed after I hugged her.
"Thank you so much. You gave me something I was dying to have. That's my blood!" I hugged her even tighter.
"So, let's announce it. I will first reject Jaime, and then you can mark me." She said this before planting a kiss on my lips.
"No, not now. First I need you to visit a place with me. It's something I consider lucky, and would love to take you there with me." I said.
"Yes. Of course. As you wish, I am always ready for anything." Her seductive smile didn't work on my heart this time.
I could feel my hands shaking from excitement. After all these weeks, this was finally going to work in my favor. The pregnancy and her ambition to be the next Luna were alarming to me. In no way would I ever let the pack or Beta Jaime know about this forbidden affair.
If there was someone who deserved to be Luna, it was Daphne.
I asked Yvette to walk closely behind me so as not to grab any attention as we both took the path to the Seer. The happiness couldn't be controlled on my face as the distance grew smaller.
Once outside the pack's borders, I let my wolf surface and allowed Yvette to ride on my back. Since she was pregnant, she wouldn’t be able to shift. The path was tough and challenging, so I made my pace a little slower. I couldn’t afford to lose the pup until he was ready to be sacrificed.
When we arrived at the seer's domain, I carefully placed Yvette on the ground and reverted to my human form. She gave me my trench coat with a smile on her face, and we proceeded to walk. Her eyes scanned the scary woods, and her grip on my arm tightened.
"Where are we, Lennon? This is so scary," she whispered in my ear.
"It's not that scary. Let's get inside. I have a surprise for you." This eased the tension from her face, and I held her hand in mine.
The Seer watched both of us, and her eyes rested on Yvette for too long. She gave a smile to both of us.
"Who's this?" Yvette muttered in my ear again. I went behind her to hug her petite frame. She again relaxed in my arms.
"Close your eyes," I whispered. She followed my command without questioning it.
My dagger was in mid-air and the blood oozed out of her body when I pushed it deeper into her neck. She couldn't scream or fight against me because of my death grip around her waist.
As the blood fell on the dirt, the seer's eyes changed to a red color, and her magical potions illuminated.
"You paid for the service. Now it's my turn to offer you the information you have been seeking for so long," she said, staring into my eyes.
Yvette's lifeless body continued to bleed on the ground, and I had to walk past her to get closer to the Seer.
"Now give me the f*cking information I bought with the lives of this sl*t and her bastard pup!"
"Your mate, Daphne Forster has been hidden in the Blood Moon Rider's pack since the time she left your pack," she said, her eyes still glowing with crimson light as she stared past me.
I gripped the bloodied dagger strongly, and the realization slapped me in the face. The way Alpha Calle had reacted when I had been there was already suspicious. "How dare you hide her from me, Alpha Calle!"
"One more thing. Daphne is a white wolf. If you mate with her, then you will be the most powerful Alpha in history because your powers will be doubled. White wolves, according to legend, are direct descendants of Goddess Luna.
I listened to her intently. Daphne had been with Alpha Calle, and I couldn't track her down. Moreover, she was the white wolf, and if anyone got to know about it, then she would become a topic of discussion. I won't allow myself to lose her again. And if she had some powers, then it was me who had to get them and rule over the world, and no one else.
As the seer stopped speaking, her eyes returned to brown, and everything appeared to have returned to normal.
"Now Leave!" She went back into her room, leaving me alone with the dead body and my dangerous thoughts.
