Chapter 47

Aurora's POV

It was awkward waiting in the Pack Hospital to talk to the Pack Doctor, Sally. John was acting weird and wouldn't look at Blake or me. I knew it was because Blake and I were fully mated now. John seemed uncomfortable around us. I could see he was holding back from saying something to Blake.

I could feel from the Matebond that Blake could care less what John thought about him and me being fully mated. He was happy that I was finally fully his, and he wasn't going to let anyone tell him how to act with me.

While we walked to the Pack Hospital, Blake had his arms wrapped around me, and they were still wrapped around me while we waited for Sally to come into the room. I knew John didn't like that because of his facial expression, but I couldn't move away from Blake. I loved the way his body felt on mine. I loved his touch and was sure I would never be able to move away from him.

"I thought you weren't going to wait to finish the Mating Process with my sister?" John said, finally breaking the silence.

"Yeah, but things changed. Unfortunately, there was no other way to stop her heat," Blake replied.

"Don't act like you aren't happy you finished the mating process. You have wanted to Mark my sister since the first time you saw her," John said.

"You are right, John. I did want to become fully Mated with Aurora since the first time I laid eyes on her, but I was waiting until she was ready. I had no idea she would go into heat, just like you didn't know. So don't try to make it seem like I meant for everything to happen like this. It was beyond my control," Blake said. I could hear the annoyance in his voice and feel through our bond that he was becoming impatient.

"I guess everything worked out for you," John mumbled.

"Look, John. I am not going to put up with your attitude anymore. So get over it, man, because Aurora is mine, and there is nothing you can do about it," Blake growled.

"She is still my sister," John replied

"And she is my Mate. We are fully mated now, and you know what that means," Blake said.

"STOP ARGUING," I screamed, and they both looked at me.

"I am tired of this. Both of you need to stop your arguing," I said. Before I could finish what I was about to say, Sally walked into the room.

"Hello, Alpha Blake, Beta John," Sally said, and then she turned and smiled at me. "Hello, Luna Aurora. Congratulations on you becoming fully Mated. I know you are going to make a great Luna," Sally said.

"Thank you, Sally," I replied with a smile.

"Thank you, Sally. What have you found out? Is there anything in the tea that might be why Aurora hasn't shifted?" Blake asked.

"Yes, I am afraid I found quite a few different herbs inside the tea that the Luna had been drinking. One of them being wolfsbane."

"Wolfsbane," John and Blake said at the same time.

"Yes, I am afraid so."

"What is wolfsbane?" I asked. I was beginning to worry that my mom had given me something terrible by the way Blake and John were acting.

"Wolfbane is a drug that harms our wolves," John said.

" The elders have banned the use of wolfbane in the Werewolf Community. It is against the werewolf law to have wolfbane on any Pack Territory because it is harmful to our wolves. Before they made that law, Alphas would use wolfbane to punish their Pack Members when they did something wrong. Some would give too much, which ended up killing their wolves, leaving them wolfless. That is why they banned it," Blake said.

"And that is what you found in the tea?" I asked shocked

"Yes," Sally replied

"I can't see my mom giving me something that could harm me. I am sure she didn't know the wolfsbane was in there," I said, not wanting to believe what they were telling me.

"I am sorry, Luna, but it looks like the wolfsbane was intentionally put into the tea; as I said before, the wolfsbane wasn't the only herb that was put inside the tea. Normally when wolfsbane enters a werewolf's system, they feel excruciating pain, but you didn't. That is because there were other herbs in there to make sure you didn't feel any pain while drinking it. I believe your mother had this made by a witch," Sally said.

"My mom would never do that to me," I said

"Aurora, you and I know mom didn't want either of us to know about werewolves. We both know how upset she was when I left home after shifting for the first time. I think she was worried that you would shift and leave her, too," John said.

I thought about it and knew he was right. My mom never told us anything about werewolves being real. She never told us anything about our father. When John left, she was so sad. Then, about a week after he left, she started making me drink the tea every morning, saying it woudl keep me healthy. I should have known something was wrong by the way she watched to make sure I drank every bit of it. Even after I told her how much I hated the taste, she still watched me while I struggled to drink every last drop.

"Oh my God. My mom drugged me." I couldn't help the tears that began to come from my eyes. I felt like I was going to throw up. How could she do that to me? I was her child, and she gave me something that could hurt me, something that could possibly kill me. All because she didn't want me to become a werewolf.

Blake pulled me onto his lap and hugged me close to his body. I wrapped my arms around him and inhaled his scent as my face was in the crock of his neck as I cried.

"Everything is going to be okay, My Love. You are okay."
