Chapter 86 Gone.
Chapter 86 Gone.
Johns POV
After I had killed that first vampire more scattered everywhere from the forest, like a never ending stream of water…
No matter where I looked, another one was coming.
Hundreds, maybe even thousands of vampires were attacking us. And they had one thing in mind.
And I had a pretty good idea what that was…
‘Don’t stop, get closer to the borders. We have to push them out of the territory,’ Titan’s voice rang through my head, so many thoughts racing through my mind as I looked for the next vampire to attack.
“Beta John! We need help over here!” A warrior's voice yelled loudly, echoing across the woods towards me.
Without a thought I pushed myself towards him, knowing I could get them out of the situation they were in.
There were two of them. And ten vampires surrounding them.
Locking eyes with the biggest one I decided he was my first kill.
He smirked when he saw me running towards him, his fangs visibly shown.
“You are all a bunch of dirty muts. If it was up to me I wouldn’t even be here in your filthy pack!” He said while laughing, waiting for me to make a move first.
I didn’t though.
I stopped in front of him, and began circling around him. Looking for any signs of weakness.
“It isn’t too late, you know. You can surrender your pack and give us what we came here for,” he said while not moving, acting as if we couldn’t take him on.
Titan perked up at the mention of what they came here for.
I mindlinked the closest warrior who was fighting a smaller vampire next to me, ‘ask them what they came here for, now.’
“What did you come here for!” The warrior asked between delivering blows.
His voice panting and laced with anger.
The bigger vampire laughed loudly, his eyes even crinkling at the sides.
“What we came for? Don’t you know? We came here for the female alpha. And we won’t be leaving without her.”
Something inside of me snapped.
Without any control over myself I lunged at him, grabbing his arm in my jaw and biting it clean off.
He screamed. So loudly the birds in the trees scattered.
“You fucking mutt! That was my good arm!” He screeched, facing me with a look of pure rage.
With uncalculated steps, he ran at me.
His fangs out and his nails extended into claws.
I waited. Expecting this move.
I side stepped him. Letting my body drop low to the ground before I spun around and kicked him as hard as I possibly could with both my hind legs…
He flew to the ground hard. Grunting as he took the full impact directly to the face.
He got up quickly, coming at me again quicker this time.
I shifted into my human form, my fist waiting for his face just as he neared me.
His eyes widened in shock just as my fist connected with his face, blood splattering everywhere.
I growled as I pulled him to the ground, getting on top of him before my clawed hand drove into his chest, ripping his heart out and tossing it onto the ground before I tore his head clean off of his body.
The vampires around us stopped.
“Ivan. He’s dead…” one whispered in disbelief. Obviously their strongest warrior has fallen.
“You can still retreat! You can leave and never come back. You don’t all need to die today,” I yelled loud enough they could all hear me, vampires from all over the forest stopping to stare in our direction.
“We won’t stop. We can’t stop. No matter what we might die today. If we leave… we die. They won’t allow us to leave empty handed. We have no choice,” a small female vampire said dully, with no emotion on her face. Looking almost lifeless.
I growled, knowing I had no other choice but to take them all out.
I couldn’t let them get to her.
I shifted back into my wolf form just as I felt a pull on the bond between Bella and I.
‘Something is wrong… very wrong,’ Titan spoke up, making my heartbeat even faster.
If Titan sensed something too… something was happening to her.
And that could only mean one thing.
She didn’t listen to me. And she’s out there, right now. Fighting.
I turned around and took off, not able to stay there and fight with the other warriors when I knew something was wrong, that Bella was in trouble.
I had to get to her, fast.
My legs moved faster than I thought possible, the wind slapping my face as I pushed myself as hard as I possibly could.
‘I can’t tell which direction she is in. There’s dark magic surrounding us… her scent is everywhere. It’s going to be impossible to find her since we didn’t mark her!’ Titan freaked out, his voice thick with rage, making a stabbing pain shoot through my chest.
I only did what I thought was right…
I kept pushing myself, not wanting to stop and lose more time.
I kept going in the direction that felt right…
Just as I felt like we would never find her… she howled. A scared, painful howl that was calling out to us.
Asking us for help.
My body moved on its own.
Going even faster if that was possible.
Needing desperately to get to her. To save her.
Her scent got stronger… until it was completely gone. And so was she.
I couldn’t see her anywhere.
As if she vanished off of the face of the earth.
