Chapter twenty-seven - A friends advice
[AZRAEL]
They threw me out of the packhouse as if I was an old rug. No respect, not even a tiny part of it shown.
My mate was right at one point, I had no power here, but that's not for long. I will fucking destroy everything in my way if needed, but she will end up in my arms. I took a deep breath and rushed out of their territory; let's see how this place will look after I come back with my men.
"You know we could easily take them all down on our own, right?" an annoying voice from the back of my head appeared once again.
"I think you have made enough problems for me by now, will you shut up," I growled back at him.
"You know I'm right," he now whispered.
"Yes, I know, and? I'm not about to kill them all to take her by force, yet. First, we will show them who's stronger, let's say scare them, only then we'll see how we should act afterward. If she doesn't come with us, then we will destroy the whole pack and take her," I was reaching their territory border and looked back at where my mate was.
I sighed and shifted into my wolf, taking off as fast as never. I have to get back to my pack before evening. We both were exhausted, but none of us cared.
"Alpha," suddenly, my betas voice sounded in my head. I didn't even notice how I already got back into my territory.
"I'm just arriving, get into my office. I should be there in about 10 minutes. Oh, and bring the whiskey."
I blocked him out and continued to run. In no time, I was next to my packhouse. All that was left was to take a quick shower, change, and go to my office, where Colin must be waiting for me.
I didn't want to lose any time, so I rushed through everything and soon went to see my best friend.
As always, he was there, waiting for me, with a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. I casually sat down in my office chair and let myself to shrink into it.
"What's going on?" he asked without any hesitation.
"Hey, a simple "hello," would be more appropriate, don't you think so?" I spat back at him. Somehow everything is pissing me off, pushing me to the edge. Even my wolf seems to be easily irritated.
"Fuck off Azrael, what the Hell is going on? First, you find her, get obsessed. Then you abuse her, try to make things right, and the last thing I know, our Alpha has left the territory for a damn month, without leaving any clues for where is he. Have you lost your damn mind?" he almost yelled at me, handing me a glass full of whiskey.
Alpha in me wanted to rip him into pieces. My wolf wanted to hurt him bad, for the disrespect he just has shown. But my human side just sat there and listened. Sure, he is rank lower than I am; he is my Beta and my right hand. But the first and the most important part is my brother, my best friend.
I sighed and closed my eyes.
"I don't know what the fuck is happening to me. I can't explain it. I'm absolutely out of my comfort zone, and I feel like a damn kid," I barely spoke.
"Do you want to know what I think?" he asked and casually took a sip from his glass.
I just hummed, before drinking my glass dry.
"Ok, so. I'm happy for you, my friend, but... But you have to change, and by that I mean CHANGE A LOT. Your short temper is not your allay at this point; both of you need to chill those hotheads.
I know what are you thinking about, and it won't happen, you can't take a risk this big. You need to work on your attitude first, decide what you want and how you want it. Then you'll think of what to do to succeed. You've become sort of miserable without her around, and if you're going to change it, first, you have to change yourself. If you go for your plan, she will reject you. Honestly, everyone around here is anxious about you. We need our Alpha, we need our Luna, but we shall have none of you won't stop thinking with your dick, rather than your head. That girl is something, and you know that. Change, do something to PROVE to her that you deserve a place next to her. Do something, brother," his emotions were mixed. I could quickly notice that he has been drinking for a few days, and only a few of the things he was saying did make sense.
"How?" I whispered under my breath, sliding fingers through my hair. I was way too tired for this, I do need some proper rest, but she's all that I have on my mind. It's like I'm cursed, yet it's all I'd ever wish for.
"Change your attitude. Your ways with pack and people, you can't force her to love you, you can't use Mate bond against her, but you can make her fall for you," he calmly filled my empty glass and stood up. I didn't say a thing, knowing our conversation was over.
His words kept playing at the back of my head.
"You can make her fall for you," was all I was hearing. Even my wolf seemed to understand a few things now; he kept mumbling about how he'd wish to listen to those three magic words leaving her lips. Truthfully, I want to hear that too.
After that, I could easily die happy.
I turned around and looked out of the window. I didn't notice how fast the night has come.
"No matter what, we're under the same sky... I promise I will do everything; I will change, you will love us one day. But until that, goodnight, my little, perfect mate," I whispered to myself, somewhere deep down hoping, that she could hear me, even though I knew that she couldn't...
