VALERIE'S POV
F*cking hell! How dare he! How dare Ambrose treat me like a doormat.
Does he not know me enough? How can he accuse me of not telling him something so important?! Why didn't he believe me? Was his love so easy? It only took one turbulence to flip the boat of his love and throw it into the ocean.
I paced around the forest in nothing but pure rage.
Even Logan hasn't gotten back to me after he left like that.
Nothing is going right around me.
"Aaaaahhh!" How the hell am I supposed to control this burning rage inside me, which is fuelling these powers even more?
What the hell do I do now?
'First, take a calm breath, maybe?' Adele commented, and I was honestly wondering if she knew me at all.
A calm breath? Does she find me in any position to take a calm breath right now? Calm is a word that is not in my dictionary for miles.
'If it was meant to be a joke, let me tell you, it was a bad one,' I gritted my teeth at Adele before punching the tree lightly to not hurt my knuckles in my rage.
F*ck!
I took a step back when I saw a hole in the tree where I punched.
I looked at my fist that suddenly had gotten the power of some giant monster and couldn't help but look ahead, even more unsure.
How am I supposed to control this kind of power so easily? Who should I go for help and ask -
'You are a half-breed! A half-vampire?!' Ambrose's words echoed in my head, and I placed my hand over my head as suddenly everything started to make sense.
Ambrose was right. I had vampire qualities. I was a fool to have not noticed it earlier. The craving for blood, elongating fangs whenever I am triggered with any emotion like lust and anger, that growing of nails, everything was a living sign, and I couldn't see it.
How could I not?
'You are mine,' A voice suddenly echoed in my head, and I closed my eyes as a strange headache shot through my head. It was like my mind was going into a flashback and trying to think about something I shouldn't.
Something I shouldn't remember. The broken pieces of snippets were starting to appear. It was a memory of when I was five years old.
It was a night. I was in some kind of forest. My dad was around because I could hear his laughter. It was a full moon. What were we doing there? This place wasn't in the pack. Our pack doesn't have such types of trees. I kept my eyes closed, focussing on whatever image I was receiving.
"Twinkle twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are.
You are a werewolf in the No-man land
And I am a Leech looking for a bride at hand,"
The song. Yes, someone sang this song when we were walking back home. Dad's car had broken midway in the forest when we were returning from the Heavens Pack. Since I wanted to venture out and spend my holidays while traveling somewhere nice, he promised me he would bring me to the mountains once he accomplished his last task given to him by the alpha.
We were returning from the Heavens Pack to report things to our alpha. It was a tense situation because of how my father was reacting. He didn't tell me anything, but I could see it on his face.
And then suddenly, out of nowhere, we heard the rustling of leaves. My dad hid me behind him, and then someone ----
At the age of five ~~~~~~
"Dad, this is no adventure. You promised to take me to the mountains. You are a liar. Pack matters to you, and I don't. You don't love me the same anymore. No one loves me. Woohoo, woohoo," my five-year-old self cried, and I could see Dad looking at me from the corner of his eyes, amused.
"Stop being dramatic, Val," My dad said, and I pouted even harder.
"Dad! You know about girls! When they cry, you don't call them dramatic. You console them. How will I live with this big boy who knows nothing?" I slapped my forehead in pure annoyance, and Dad's laughter echoed in the quiet surroundings.
"This boy knows what to do, my love. But this little girl is not easy to handle either. Look at her, just five years old and is already lecturing me," Dad chuckled before sighing.
"Baby girl, I know what I promised. But I never promised we would go straight after visiting the pack, remember? First, we report it to the alpha like a good beta bloodline and then we go and have some fun, okay? You want to take after me, don't you? This is how everyone's training starts," Dad ruffled my hair, and I hummed begrudgingly.
It's not like I had a choice either.
"So, what place would you like to visit? There are so many mountains with pretty trees and locations. Do you have anything specific in mind? That you must've seen online or heard your friends talking about?" My dad asked as we walked side by side on the empty road.
The pack was around 15 kilometers far from here, but we were sure we would find someone along the way if the border patrol decided to patrol the forest too. Dad's phone ran out of battery, and we had no other means to reach them.
He was too tired to change into his wolf form and carry me on his back to the pack, and like a proud little beta, I didn't want to be a burden on him.
"Baby, I know you are getting tired. We have been walking for five kilometers now. Please bear with it a little," Dad said, and I grinned at him, showing my teeth.
"I am alright, Dad. Nothing can break your unbreakable Valerie. I am the future beta of the pack, after all," I said, and Dad laughed at my choice of words.
"I am glad it's you with me, my love, and not your sister. She would've gotten on my nerves by now," Dad and I laughed at his comment collectively.
"Valerie, -" Dad suddenly grabbed my hand.
"What -"
"Sshh, someone is here," Dad said, and judging from his stance, I was sure it was no one good.
My sense of smell and hearing wasn't developed, and I couldn’t find who it was.
However, the rustling of the leaves was too loud for me to ignore.
I quickly grabbed my dad's leg and pressed my face on his thighs, feeling scared now. It was too dark here, and what if it was someone mean? I trusted Dad. He has won many battles, but right now, I was a burden on him.
As if lightning struck us, Dad was suddenly pushed far away from me, and my body hit the tree with a jerk.
"Dad!" I wailed when my head hit the ground, and pain shot through my body.
"Dad, where are you? Dad!" I cried.
"Valerie! Don't cry, baby. I am coming for you," I heard his struggling voice somewhere far, a bit too far, and I hiccuped, bringing my legs close to my chest.
I couldn't see what hit us. However, the force was too hard.
"I am scared, Dad," I murmured softly, knowing all too well, he couldn't hear me.
"Why are you scared, my love? I haven't come to harm you," I heard an unfamiliar voice, and I raised my head, widening my eyes, scared even more.
"Who- Who are you?! Where is my dad?! Don't come closer. My dad will kill you," I crawled further into the tree, hiding behind it, but the man was quick on his feet.
I couldn't even see when he appeared right in front of me, holding me in his arms.
My voice stuck. It was as if my throat was dry and constricted because of all the fear I was feeling.
"Twinkle twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are.
You are a werewolf in the No-man land
And I am a Leech looking for a bride at hand," He sang with a soft smile, but it only looked creepy to me.
"D...d.." I tried calling for Dad, but no matter how hard I tried, no voice came out.
"Your eyes are so pretty, my love. It's what attracted me to you. Your eyes and your voice. I have been looking for someone for so long and had never guessed I would find that someone in you, such a little girl. I can see my future in your eyes. Can you see it? I will be waiting for you," the man with hazel eyes smiled, and I didn't understand a thing.
He was looking for someone, but he found it in me. He will wait for me? See his future in my eyes? How is that position? What was all that?
"Since I will be waiting for you, I should ensure you do the same, no? Let me leave you with a mark. My mark," The man said, and I watched in horror as his teeth elongated and he bit into my hand.
"Aaaaahhhhhh!" A scream came out of my mouth at the intense pain, and I saw darkness engulfing me.
The next thing I knew, I was swept into someone's arms, and someone was fighting verbally around me.
"You can't take her away! I feel and understand your feelings for her, but she is a child, for god's sake! You can't claim her right now," It was my dad's voice.
"I will be returning later then," the unfamiliar voice said, and I gulped before falling into the dark slumber.
What was going on?
The next time I woke up, I was in an unfamiliar room. The first thing I did was call my dad.
"Dad!! Dad!! He bit me, Dad. That cruel man bit me, Dad!" I cried in his arms, and he consoled me.
"Sshh, baby, nothing like that happened. You will forget about that memory from now on, okay? You didn't meet anyone. We never went on any trip, and you never got bitten, okay?" He said to me.
"No, Dad. How can I forget?! What are you talking about? You can beat that man, right? You can beat everyone. I want you to beat him," I flailed my legs, my gaze flickering to the bite mark on my hand that was almost dimmed.
"You will forget, Valerie. I will ensure it," Dad said before calling in a woman. I know her. She was a hypnotist witch.
"Do it," He said to the woman.
"Remember one thing. Any trigger can escalate her memories back. It's not legal for us to fight against nature and delete what is bound to happen," she said.
"Just do it," Dad huffed, and she immediately placed her hand on my head, wiping the memories.

Present~~~~~
I looked at my hand where that bite mark was supposed to be. I rubbed the area furiously until it became red, and it was there. The slight hint of two spots under my skin. They were too faint for the naked eye to see, but maybe my hybrid powers were helping me.
With a loud growl, I picked the largest stone near me and threw it in the air. Damn him!
