VALERIE'S POV
"Are you sure about this?" I asked Blue, who grinned in return.
This doesn't look like a good idea. Now, I wasn't some saint. I have been to pubs before, but this was the first time I was entering a pub with pack wolves around.
After Logan warned me to stay clear of them, I only entered all the human pubs. My friends might not know what other species they would be dancing with here, but I know them. And it was stupid of me to even agree to it.
"Oh, cut the crap, Valerie. Stop acting like a wuss. Everyone here knows what a sucker you are for dancing. So just let it go and dance the night out. I am here to protect you girls," Brandon said, and Monty grinned, making me chuckle at his tactics.
I know he was doing this to bring Brandon and me closer. Unfortunately, he doesn't know this kind of relationship is impossible with a girl like me.
It's not taboo to have relationships with humans among werewolves, but here I don't even know what I am and what kind of threat I pose to others.
"Should I bring juice for you?" Brandon held my hand, and I looked into his shy eyes.
"Who drinks juice in the pub?" I grinned.
"Hell yeah! Here is my girl!" Blue shouted over the music, and everyone chuckled at her words.
"Are you sure you would be able to hold your liquor?" Brandon confirmed, and I grinned.
I am the girl who drinks wolfsbane to feel drunk and dizzy. I would be able to handle more than just a few bottles of booze. I kept my thoughts to myself before nodding.
Bobbing my head to the sound of beats as I swayed my hips a little, I smirked at Monty and Eve, who were trying to dance with each other but were too shy to initiate.
Walking to them, I deliberately stumbled on Eve, pushing her into Monty's arms.
"Oops, my bad," I winked at Monty, who widened his eyes before looking down at Eve, who was blushing hard before nodding at me.
Well, since I am already here, I might start enjoying it. If I stay close to my human friends, no pack member will approach me mindlessly.
"Here, you go," Brandon handed me the glass, and I drank it in a single go before slamming the empty glass on the counter.
"Woah, you’ve got some experience," Brandon commented before drinking his, and I smiled before walking to the dance floor where Blue was dancing with some guy.
'Let go,' Adele closed her eyes, enjoying the music, and I nodded at my chilled-out wolf.
If she isn't worrying about anything, it means everything is alright, and I don’t need to worry about other wolves.
I closed my eyes to feel the beat and raised my hands in the air, moving my shoulders and hips to the beat.
"You dance indeed well," Brandon commented, and I was too engrossed in the music to reply to him.
This felt good. Relaxing and refreshing.
'Yummy,' Adele commented out of the blue, and I hummed when I smelt the alluring scent.
The scent of sandalwood, citrus, orchids, and wet soil was -
Wait, why was this smell so familiar? I opened my eyes and looked around, my pupils dilating in the dark, when I finally found him sitting on one of the couches, talking to some men with a concentrated look on his face.
I am sure this is a pure coincidence.
I kept swaying my hips to the beat as I remembered what happened at my flat.
After we watched movies, he was bold enough to suggest sleeping at my apartment, and honestly, judging from how aroused I was, I wouldn't have minded that.
Thankfully, he got a call from his beta, and left, or I can't even fathom what would've happened between us.
Even the sight of his was arousing me. The way his upper two buttons were undone, giving a clear view of his olive skin, his shirt wrinkled around his torso, and his sleeves rolled around his elbows was making me wet just by looking at him.
'You want him to touch you,' Adele whispered in my mind, and I hummed.
It won't be my first time, but I want to know what it would feel like to be touched by a man like him. I have had some experience with my human friend whenever my heat relapsed in the past months.
Having a release is the only option to go through the heat without forcing yourself to have intercourse with anyone you don't want and attract other wolves.
And my friend back in the states was more than happy to help me through my heat phase. As much as I hated to use a human like him since I knew he liked me, I needed him.
I wasn't ashamed of it. It was a natural process for us werewolves. Every she-wolf goes in the heat after finding a mate to initiate and fasten the mating process. It was my bad luck that my mate didn’t want me. I am already doing a great job maintaining my chastity by not having intercourse with anyone. Besides, I have taken help from only one human so far.
He was an aspiring celebrity living with me in our shared apartment. When Logan heard of it, he pitied my situation and said he could help me through this, but I honestly didn't want to jeopardize our relationship.
I don't give two damn about that human, but I can't mess with Logan.
I raked my gaze on Mr. Alpha's body shamelessly, wanting to touch myself. I wonder what kind of magic his long and strong fingers wrapped around the glass would do to my pssy when they would run against my weak spot.
Feeling a pool of heat forming in my abdomen, I gulped and looked away slightly.
"It's alcohol. I am sure of it,' I shook my head when I realized my trail of thoughts.
'Don't hide your emotions, my love. It's normal for us werewolves. And for rejected wolves like us, our only source of pleasure comes from such unclaimed men,' Adele said, and if she was trying to motivate me, it sounded really messed up.
'Don't be disgusted by it, Valerie. Liking someone doesn't turn you into a whre. You are still a virgin, and honestly, even if you have fun with a few wolves and humans, I will respect you the same. Having one mate and saving yourself for them is such a useless rule. Our mate didn't save himself for us,' Adele scoffed.
I know she was saying all this because she was hurt by what Damian did to us, and I felt terrible for her.
She was really waiting for our mate to show up even though she couldn't come out and meet him. Damian's betrayal broke her.
Though I was trying to live my life, she had only one hope. All she wanted was for us to be loved, and Damian made sure we didn't get anything by rejecting us and turning us into rogues.
It's so hard to trust people now.
As I was lost in my thoughts, my heels twisted, and I almost fell if not for Brandon, who held me.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his emotions clear in his eyes, and I smiled before nodding.
"Thanks," I said and was about to remove my hand from his when he interlaced our fingers.
"Dance with me?" He asked, and I smiled genuinely.
These humans are all I have to take my sadness away right now.
"I know you won't stay for long, and it breaks my heart," Brandon whispered in my ears as he turned me around, maintaining a respectful distance, and my gaze landed back on the man sipping wine.
"I am not sure. I might stay or not. It all depends on -" I quickly turned around when the alpha put the glass down and looked up towards the dance floor.
"What do you mean?" Brandon asked.
"I don't know. Maybe I need more drinks," I smiled sheepishly at him.
"You are one mysterious girl," Brandon sighed before he flicked my nose.
"I will be right back," he said and went away, making me sigh.
I took a deep breath before closing my eyes to forget about the memories that surfaced.
'Let go, Adele,' I told my wolf the same thing she said.
"Dancing without me, are you?" I heard the familiar voice that sent chills down my spine when he grabbed my shoulders and forced me to look at him.
His gray eyes were full of emotions, and his lips were turned into a subtle smile.
This man was nothing ordinary. He was walking sx, and my body's reaction to his presence, voice, eyes, and smell was more than enough evidence for it.
"Have you come here to kiss me and complete your quota of the day?" I looked at him with a smile, and he grabbed my jaw, raising my head slightly.
He bent to my eye level before kissing my cheeks.
"It's pure coincidence, I swear, but seeing you in this tight dress hugging your as and making it so appealing, I wish it shouldn't have. Let me be the man who sees you like this first before anyone else," he whispered, and my heart skipped a beat at his choice of words.
"Are you flirting with me, alpha?" I took a step back, and he smirked before snaking his hand on my waist and pulling me infinitely closer as our chests collided.
"No, my sunshine. I am suggesting it directly. This is what I want and need. Who told you to look this beautiful? Your name should be on top of the sinners' book for looking this angelic and devilish at the same time," he bent and placed his lips on my neck, making me take a shaky breath as my heart fastened.
"Your heart is beating fast again. Do I make you nervous, my love?" He asked, and I was about to answer when with the speed of light, he brought us to the first floor inside a room, and I widened my eyes.
What the hell? Was this allowed? We were in a pub with humans.
Isn't this like breaking rules? I looked into his eyes for answers.
"I don't know how many rules I am going to break for you," he whispered before his hands slid down my thighs and his lips crashed on mine.
I could feel how his fingers were raising my satin dress, nearing my core, and this was the time when I should have stopped him, but I didn't want to.
