Chapter 26- Her Beauty

"What are we doing here?" I wonder if Lydia is now shopping for gowns and dresses scattered on Cath's bed. This is my first time here in Cath's dorm. It is the same size as my dorm, but she has much more furniture and appliances.

"Tonight is the Grand Magical Ball, 'Thea! We must prepare now. We're going to Magical University later," Lydia said without even looking at me. She is busy looking at the dresses.

"Let's go!" Cath pulled me over to her walk-in closet and handed me a black cocktail dress and accessories.

"Wear it all," said Lydia. They both smiled at me and shut the door closed. What now? I never thought I would wear this. I'm not a girly-type kind of woman.

I prefer flat shoes over heels like the black stiletto I'm currently holding. I prefer big shirts to dresses. I gasped and began to change my clothes. There is a full-length mirror inside the walk-in closet so I can see what I look like while changing. When I put on the black cocktail dress, I couldn’t help but smile.

"Is this me?" I whispered to myself. I smiled and it's not bad after all. I wore a necklace, bracelet, and even earrings. It fits and I can’t help but be amazed. I don't usually compliment myself. I don't even consider myself as beautiful. But now, I know I'm beautiful. I'm starting to see the beauty of who I am that I've never seen before.

I went out of the walk-in closet; Lydia was also wearing a dress as well as Cath. They were stunning. Lydia is wearing a blue pencil cut dress that has embossed lines on the tip of the dress. Her curves are surfacing. Her hair is tied in a messy style that made her so gorgeous even more.

Cath is wearing a maroon tube-style gown. Her whiteness and her beautiful body are very obvious. Her hair is loosened down. I smiled. They're so beautiful and they possess the beauty of a royalty.

They were looking at me. "You do realize how beautiful you are with that dress, right?" Lydia said incredulously as she looked at me.

I scratched my head so hard and averted my eyes. I'm not used to compliments nor how to react with it.

"Come here. We'll fix your hair." Cath smiled and offered her hand which I gladly accepted.

They made me sit in front of a mirror and they started fixing my hair. They curled my hair that makes it wavy. They kept it relaxed. They put a little bit of makeup on my face.

"I can't wait to see Isaac's reaction when he looks at you," Cath said.

Isaac suddenly came to my mind. I'm excited just by thinking about how he looks like wearing a suit.

We finished and Lydia spoke, "Come on. They're already waiting in front of the Academy."

We walked out of the Academy; the other students were distracted by us, so I was even more embarrassed.

Until we reached the front door of the Academy, I was completely embarrassed when I saw Isaac. He's looking straight at me.

Isaac is wearing a black coat and a black turtleneck inside, his hair is in a brushed-up style, he's wearing a silver necklace that complimented his suit. He was so handsome, and I couldn’t help but be amazed. As I stood in front of him a smile spread across his lips.

"A masterpiece," he uttered. I feel like my cheeks were red at that time. He offered his hand. "You're the epitome of perfection, Althea."

He made me feel beautiful even more. I felt like I can be who I am when he's around. He offered his hand which I immediately accepted, and he led me to the car where the others were waiting.

Kurt is wearing a blue coat and tie, he looked so handsome and manly, as well as Kristian who's wearing a gray tuxedo. They are so handsome.

As I got in the car I turned to Isaac. "Well, you do know you look ravishingly handsome." I quickly avoided his gaze and closed the door. I left him stunned outside.

A minute after, he sat in the passenger's seat, while Lydia and Cath were next to me. When we arrived at Magical University we immediately went to the grand hall where the Grand Magical Ball was being held.

Many people greeted us, and the emcee announced that the Alexandria Academy team had arrived.

The motif of the ball is red and white, and many tables are scattered throughout the hall. We sat at our designated table. I can't help but feel conscious of what I look right now. Eventually, I felt Isaac's hand on mine, so I turned to him.

"Don't be nervous." He smiled. I felt my hand calmed down for I knew they were with me and they would not abandon me.

The program started and some performers went up to the stage to perform. Some of them sang, and dance. Andrei's group was just across the table, I noticed him looking around at our table.

"Excuse me," Isaac said he's going to the restroom then he left. I turned to Isaac's parents who were sitting at a table not far from us.

His father is handsome, and Mrs. Zecharia is as beautiful as ever. Isaac got his features from his dad, but he got his eyes from his mom. I smiled, a family of perfection.

"The dancefloor is now open for those who want the dance," the emcee announced, and the students began to stand up and dance.

I was shocked when someone stood next to me as well as the others. Andrei stood in front of me. "Can I have a dance with a beautiful lady?"

"I can't--" I was stunned when he came closer making me back away.

"I won't take no for an answer," he whispered. He offered his hand and I accepted it violently, he's too persistent.

He led me to the dancefloor, and we started dancing. I can feel the gazes of the people, looking at us.

"What are you doing?" I asked him but he didn't even bother to answer. He's wearing a navy-blue coat at the top, but the button of his long sleeves was kind of unbuttoned again, revealing his tanned skin. He's grinning from ear to ear while holding my waist. He's handsome as well yet I can't stand his presence

"Whatever your problem is with Isaac, don't include me." He chuckled then tightened his grip, making me closer to him. I closed my eyes in annoyance.

"I'm not that kind of person. Althea. I want to help you--shit!"

"Sorry," I said as I intendedly stepped on his foot. I hate arrogant people like him. I was about to walk away, I flinched when he grabbed me by the waist again, but someone pulled me away, and when I looked back it was Isaac.

I could tell just by looking at his face that he's angry. I gulped. This is bad timing.

"Stay away from my girl, Andrei." There was anger in his voice. I bowed down, we were in the middle of the dancefloor and we were probably grabbing people’s attention.

Andrei raised his hands as if he's giving up. "Alright. I'm out." He smirked and it was as if a thorn had pulled me out as he walked away. But I was shocked when he said something before, he left, "Better watch your back, Isaac. I know your secrets."

I turned to Isaac; he's looking at Andrei's direction with so much rage. I held his hand, so his attention went to me. I smiled. "Can I have a dance with you?" I need to divert his attention.

His expression immediately softened, and he smiled. "My pleasure, baby."

He put his hands on my waist and I put mine on his shoulder. We danced along with the rhythm of the song.

"Through drought and famine, natural disaster..." he sang along the music. It is not tiring to look at his face. "...My baby has been around for me..." He held my chin making me look at him, it was as if he was saying the lyrics to me.

"Kingdoms have fallen, angels be calling..." He kissed my forehead and I closed my eyes as his warm lips touched my skin. "...none of that could ever make me leave."

I smiled as he tightened his grip on me. At that exact moment, I felt euphoric being by his arms. "Every time I look into your eyes, I see it..." he sang again, but we sang the next lyrics at once.

"...you're all I need."

Only then, I've realized how I truly feel about him. I'm in love with him. I'm in love with Isaac Villanueva.
