Chapter 23 23
Chapter 23 23
"Derek's pov"
"Derek," Jayden replied, smiling widely at me.
"What!" He added, excitedly.
"Is this really you?" I said, as I picked up the last piece toy on the floor and placed it in my shopping bag before standing up.
"It's good to see you Jayden," I added, looking at him in shock.
"It's good see you too man," He replied, as we both bursted into laughter before hugged each other tightly.
Jayden was one of the closest friend I had growing up.
Our parents knew each other as we both stayed in the same neighborhood and that was how we became family friends.
We also attended the same middle school and we were best friends for more than five years.
We were so inseparable that people mistook us for siblings.
"I still can't believe this," I said, breaking the silence.
"Where have you been?" I asked, as we broke the long hug.
"I have not seen you in such a long time," I added, still shocked.
Jayden and I lost contact when I lost my parents and became the Alpha.
I buried myself in grief and shut out most of my friends as I did not want them to see me in my most vulnerable state.
The responsibilities that came from being from an Alpha also became so much that i hardly had time to myself.
Jayden and I would go weeks and months without talking until we eventually completely lost contact.
I tried to hard to reach him after I had finally gotten the hang of being an Alpha but it was too late.
He wouldn't take my calls and I was not allowed into their house as they were not around according to their gate keeper.
"I moved with my family," Jayden said.
"I tried to tell you I was moving back then but you already lost your parents and I knew you were not going to take it well," He added.
"I kept calling you and even went to your house to look for you," I said.
"That explains it," I mumbled, in a low tone.
"You look different," Jayden said, as he looked at me smiling.
"You look different too," I replied, smiling.
"You have changed a lot," I added.
Jayden looked really skinny while we were growing up but he was now bigger and muscular.
"It's really nice to see you," I added, as we shook hands smiling.
"We should catch up sometime," He said.
"Yes sure," I replied.
"Here is my card," Jayden said, as he pointed a card towards me smiling.
"Give me yours," He added.
"It's in the car," I said, as I pointed towards my car.
"Let's go," He said, as we walked towards my car smiling.
I opened my car's door as we reached for parking lot before placing the shopping bag in the back seat before picking up one of my complimentary card and handing it over to Jayden.
"I will call you," Jayden said, as he collected the card from me.
"I really look forward to seeing your daughter," He added.
"You know I have a daughter?" I asked, as I looked at him suprisely.
"The toys," He answered.
"Looked like something a girl dad would buy," He added.
"Oh," I replied smiling.
"I'm looking forward to introducing her to you," I added.
"What is her daughter's name?" Jayden asked.
"Lily," I replied, proudly.
Growing up, Jayden and I always imagined what our families would be like and we would always talk about how we wanted to be girl dads.
"Lovely name," Jayden said.
"Take care," Jayden continued, as he pulled me in for a hug.
"I will see you soon," He added, before walking away.
I watched Jayden get into the car before also getting into my car.
The supermarket was least place i had expected to see jayden after all these years but I was happy to see after almost five years of no contact.
I had thought I was never going to see him again.
I drove out of the supermarket happily as I made my way home.
The gatekeeper opened the door immediately as he heard me horn and I drive into my house.
I parked my car in the parking lot before walking out of the car with the shopping bag in my hand.
I saw a familiar car parked in my compound but I couldn't not place where exactly I had seen it.
I wondered whose car it was as i continued to walk towards the door of my house.
"Welcome," One of my maids said, as she hurriedly walked towards me.
She tried to take the shopping bag from me but I insisted she let me carry it myself.
"Leave it," I said, as I continued to walk.
"Where is my daughter?" I asked.
"She's in the living room waiting for you to arrive," She answered.
I walked into my house happily, eager to show Lily everything I had bought for her when I immediately saw Amanda sitting in my living room with my daughter.
They were sitting together and it further angered me.
"Daddy," Lily said, running towards me.
"Hi my angel," I said smiling, as I lifted up.
"Take her to her room," I commanded, before handing her to the maid who followed me in.
"Yes sir," The maid answered, as she immediately walked out of the living room with Lily in her arms.
I held my anger as I wanted to make sure Lily had completely gone and wouldn't hear my voice before walking towards Amanda in the living room who smiled at me.
"Hi," She said, as she smiled at me.
"I have been waiting for you for a long time," She added.
"What are you doing here and you let you in here Amanda?" I asked angrily, as I looked at her angrily before holding her arms.
"I..just..wanted to say hi," She replied, stuttering.
"You should not be here, I do not want you here!" I stated firmly.
