Chapter 14 14

Chapter 14 14

Derek POV

I walked towards Lily's room with many thoughts running through my mind.

The moment I arrived at her door, I knocked gently before pushing the door open and strode in.

Lily was lying on her bed, hugging her stuffed animal tightly.

“Lily, Are you okay?” I asked her, walking into the room.

“Daddy?” She said it softly, almost to herself.

She looked towards the door, and the moment she noticed it was really me. Lily turned to the other side of the bed, burying her face on her pillow.

I was more worried about what was going on.

“Are you okay, Lily? Does anywhere hurt?” I asked her, getting so bothered.

“Daddy, stay away from me.” After so many minutes, she responded. She cried, hugging her stuffed animal tightly.

I was more bothered. Lily was already improving. She was already communicating well with me. I couldn’t understand why she was changing again.

“Did Daddy do anything wrong?” I asked, moving closer to her bed.

I managed to sit at the edge watching her.

“I don’t want to see Daddy.” She cried more, refusing to face me.

“I’m so sorry if I offended you, sweetie. Just talk to me, what’s wrong?” I asked her. I was more worried.

Seeing she wouldn’t talk, I was more bothered.

Just then a knock came on her door. I walked to the door and pulled the door open. It was the housekeeper.

“Sir, I heard she was bullied in school today.” She told me.

My eyes widened in shock.

“Who dared to bully my child!” My eyes darkened.

“It’s her friends. They teased her for not having a mother anymore.” The housekeeper added lowering her head this time.

“What!” My jaw slackened.

I never expected that to happen.

I ran my finger into my hair, looking so frustrated.

“How could they do that to my child? They should just wait until I catch them!” I clenched my fist tightly in anger.

“I’m so sorry you have to go through that, my baby.” I went back to Lily’s bed, patting her back.

Lily finally raised her head again. She sits up clutching her stuffed animal tightly to her heart.

“Daddy.” She cried. I immediately pulled her into a hug.

“I’m sorry for hurting you.” I patted her back.

“I have you, right, Daddy? You aren’t going to leave me like mom, right?” She cried more into my arms.

“I will never leave you, sweetheart, because you are Daddy’s little girl,” I assured her.

I gently pulled her out of the hug and stared at her innocent, beautiful face. I was so happy seeing her happy compared to when I came in.

“Should I bring her something to eat?” The housekeeper's voice interrupted us.

“Is there anything you want to eat, sweetie?” I asked her.

I watched her finger-flicking.

“I want what Daddy wants.” She said in her low voice, avoiding eye contact with me.

Hearing that, I smiled softly and turned back to the housekeeper.

“Serve us whatever you cooked. We are eating here.” I told the housekeeper.

She nodded and left immediately.

She came back after a while with our meal. I sat on Lily's sofa, eating with her.

“Are you enjoying it?” I asked her

She nodded and continued eating.

I helped her remove the little grain of rice from her mouth and smiled. Seeing her always melts my heart. I never regretted that I took her from Aria, and right now I’m not ready to leave her.

When it was evening, I decided to visit the garden with Lily. She had her stuffed animal closed to her chest as we wandered around the beautiful garden.

“Is there anywhere you want to visit with me again?” I asked her.

“No.” She replied after taking a long break.

Finally, we sat on the garden bench. Lily rested her head on me and slowly closed her eyes.

“Daddy, do you really like Lily?” She asked me

“Of course I do. You are my daughter, and I love you.” I told her.

I didn’t know what prompted her to ask such a question, but I could see she was so concerned about it.

I wrapped my arms around her and whispered.

“I really like Lily.”

She nodded with a small smile escaping from her lips.

After enjoying the beautiful evening in the garden with Lily, we returned to her room.

“You should sleep now. So that you won’t be late for school tomorrow.” I told her and lay her on the bed.

I covered her with the blanket and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

“Good night, darling; see you tomorrow,” I whispered.

I wanted to take my leave, but a small grip on my clothes drew me back. I looked back to see Lily tugging at my clothes.

“If Daddy really loves Lily, He should sleep over at my room till tomorrow.” She told me.

I smiled a little.

“You want me to sleep over in your room?” I asked her.

Lily nodded.

Even though I had some work to do overnight, I could never say no to Lily.

I didn’t hesitate to sleep right next to Lily hugging her. I patted her back under. I heard her faint snore as she quietly slipped into the dream world.

I looked at her beautiful face until I joined her in the dream world too.

A knock that came on Lily’s door the next morning woke me up.

I tried not to wake Lily up and quietly got out of bed. I walked to the door and opened up.

It was the housekeeper.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“A package is here for you, sir.” She told me.

“A package?” My brows snapped together.

I was never expecting one.

“You should collect it,” I mumbled and tried to close back the door.

“I tried to, but the man insisted that it must be delivered directly to you.” Her voice stopped me.

My brows raised higher.

“Where is it from?” I asked her.

“The man refused to disclose that to me too.” She added.

I was more concerned.

But for a minute I felt it wouldn’t be anything good.

I sighed and walked out of the door, heading towards the living room with the housekeeper behind me.

I opened the door and was welcomed by a young man's face.

“Alpha Derek?” He enquired, and I nodded.

“I was asked to deliver this directly to you.” He told you

I didn’t bother to respond when I took the mini-box from him and closed the door.

“Do you think it’s safe, sir?” I heard the housekeeper’s worried voice.

I ignored her and walked over to the sofa, opening up the box.

The moment I opened up the box, I was expecting something else, but it was a small envelope, a letter.

I opened it up immediately with curiosity, but the moment I read the content, my nose flared up completely in anger. My face hardened, and a vein popped angrily out of my neck.

“How dare her!” I shrieked out in anger, making the housekeeper shiver where she was standing.

“How dare Aria summon me to court to contest for Lily’s custody?!”
