Chapter 71 Taking Action

Emily had just gotten home when she got a message from Eric.

Since their last hangout, Emily and Eric had added each other on Facebook, so they could chat privately.

Eric: [Emily, someone is looking for Med Mastermind on the SkillMasters Website.]

Emily was confused. Could it be James needing Med Mastermind to help Olivia with her pregnancy again?

After thinking for a bit, Emily's fingers flew over the screen as she typed back: [Do you know who it is?]

Eric scratched his head when he saw her message. He had tried to hack in to find out who posted it but got blocked.

Since Emily wanted to know, he was determined to get the info.

With that in mind, Eric kept attacking the firewall. After some serious effort, he managed to dig up some info.

Eric: [Emily, the protection is tight, but I traced it back to the Department of Defense.]

Emily was stunned. What was going on?

After a moment of hesitation, Emily logged into her old SkillMasters account and found the post.

#Urgently Seeking Med Mastermind! Generous Reward for Any Information!

The post was marked urgent and pinned to the top, making it hard to miss.

Emily left her contact info on the post and logged out.

Meanwhile, Matthew was examining a middle-aged man. The more he checked, the more worried he got. The guy's condition was critical. If they couldn't find Med Mastermind soon, he'd have to do the surgery alone.

Someone called out, "There's news!"

Matthew was startled. "What did you say, Steven?"

Steven Hernandez smiled and handed his phone to Matthew, "We just got a message from Med Mastermind. I've already added their contact."

Matthew took the phone and saw the friend request had been accepted, so they could chat.

He quickly typed: [Med Mastermind, I need your help to save a patient!]

Emily saw the message and deleted what she had just typed, then started again: [Give me a call.]

Matthew quickly sent the number.

Emily pulled out another black phone and dialed the number.

This phone was specially made to encrypt info, making it impossible for even the best techs to trace her or eavesdrop. It also had a voice changer.

The call was answered quickly.

"Hello, is this Med Mastermind?" Matthew's voice was excited.

"It's me. Tell me the details," Emily's voice was hoarse through the voice changer, making it unrecognizable.

Matthew quickly explained. The patient had hit his head, causing a concussion and severe head trauma. His injuries were serious. His condition was critical; the surgery needed to succeed so he could wake up and recover his ability to communicate normally.

Matthew didn't say why it was crucial for the patient to wake up, but Emily guessed the person had important info. Otherwise, they'd just need him to survive.

"The situation is complicated. I need to examine him personally," Emily said coldly.

This situation was a bit tricky. Otherwise, with Matthew's skills, he could've handled the surgery solo without the help of Med Mastermind.

Matthew agreed, "Alright, where are you now? I'll send someone to pick you up right away."

Emily paused for a moment before saying, "Okay, but I have some conditions."

Matthew replied, "Go ahead."

Emily thought for a second and then laid out her terms, "First, I leave immediately after the surgery. Second, I won't show my face, and you can't remove my disguise. Third, whatever I need to do, there should be no objections. Just cooperate with me."

She added, "That's it for now. If there are any more conditions, they won't affect the surgery. You know my rules, so I don't need to spell them out, right?"

Med Mastermind's rules were ironclad—no room for negotiation.

Matthew nodded. "Got it."

Emily didn't hesitate and gave him a location before hanging up.

She headed downstairs, ready to go to her secret base, but unexpectedly ran into Mia.

"Emily, where are you off to?" Mia asked, concerned.

Emily was a bit surprised to see her. "Mom, weren't you out shopping with your friends?"

Mia shook her head. "They had to reschedule, so I'll go later. Emily, why don't you come with me?"

Mia's eyes lit up with excitement at the thought. Emily had been back for a while, but she hadn't met Mia's friends yet.

Mia was always envious when her friends bragged about their daughters being so capable and beautiful.

She had already bragged about Isabella; now it was Emily's turn.

"Mom, I have something urgent. Maybe next time," Emily quickly declined, worried Mia would insist on keeping her.

Emily hurried off, and Mia watched her go with a loving smile.

Seeing that Mia didn't call her back, Emily breathed a sigh of relief and drove to her secret base.

Her secret base was set up three years ago after she arrived in StellarisVille. She had hired someone to build it in a villa on the outskirts since she didn't have much time to oversee the construction herself, but she had designed the plans.

Since it was finished, she had only visited a few times.

She drove the car through a hidden passage, found the button, and pressed it to enter the room. Due to the urgency, Emily only had time to put on colored contact lenses and hastily tied her hair up, revealing her slender, beautiful neck. Then she wore a cute mask.

Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Emily saw that above her cute mask, her eyes were striking but eerie. She raised an eyebrow and then pulled out a white coat from the wardrobe. It looked more professional as she put it on.

She also took two surgical knives and hid them on her body. After some thought, she tucked a handgun into her waistband.

After all, her safety was the most important.

The doorbell suddenly rang.

Emily walked over unhurriedly and opened the door to see a handsome man standing there, with several fully armed soldiers behind him, clearly there to protect him.

It was Matthew, her fourth brother.

Emily's eyes curved into a smile.

The last time she had briefly seen Matthew was at the hospital. Her brothers took turns caring for her, but Matthew and Daniel had urgent matters to attend to, so she became more familiar with her other three brothers.
