Chapter 11

"Will what?" I interrupted her. "Will you both go to hell?"

Kelli suddenly fell silent. Her gaze became hollow, as if all hope had drained from her. She slowly sat back in her chair, her whole body seeming to lose its strength.

"You ruined everything, Danica," Kelli said in a low, despairing voice.

"You destroyed yourself, Kelli."

I responded calmly, "You were too greedy. You wanted too much, and in the end, you got nothing."

Kelli said nothing more. She simply sat there quietly, staring blankly ahead.

I stood up, ready to leave.

But the next second, I heard a sound behind me.

My heart raced, and I quickly turned around.

Kelli had collapsed on the floor. There was a pool of blood next to her head, and her eyes were staring at me in despair.

"Kelli!" I cried out, but I soon realized it was too late.

Her lips trembled slightly as she struggled to say something.

I moved closer, trying to hear her words.

"I remember now... I remember everything... you're not..."

Her voice was faint and faltering.

Hearing this, my heart skipped a beat.

But Kelli never finished her words, she took her final breath, her life ending in the despair and madness.

The prison guards rushed in, gathering around Kelli's body and starting to deal with the situation.

I stood aside, overwhelmed with mixed emotions.

"Are you alright?" A guard's voice broke through my thoughts.

I shook my head. "I'm fine. I just didn't expect it to end like this."

The guard nodded and indicated I was free to leave.

I walked out of the prison, and the sky had already darkened outside, with streetlights beginning to light up one by one.

I took a deep breath, letting the cool night air brush across my face.

Kelli's death marked the beginning of my new life!

At that moment, I felt nothing but satisfaction.

...

Not long after, at the Mann family's meeting, my grandfather stood tall on the platform, his eyes sweeping over every family member present.

I stood beside him, my heart filled with anticipation and nervousness.

"Today, I have an important decision to announce,"

His voice echoed through the spacious conference room.

All eyes were on him, waiting for what would come next.

"After careful consideration, I have decided to hand over the management of Mann Group to Alex."

As soon as my grandfather spoke, the room erupted.

Alex, once the overlooked and marginalized member of the family, had now become the leader of the family business.

He stood up, bowed to my grandfather, then turned to me, his eyes full of gratitude.

"At the same time, I would also like to announce that my granddaughter Danica will be awarded 5% of the group's shares, along with two properties located in the city center." My grandfather continued.

A warmth spread through me. This decision of his was not only a material guarantee but also a show of emotional support. He was telling everyone that I was still his most cherished granddaughter.

Alex approached me and extended his hand, "Danica, thank you. Without you, I wouldn't have found Selenis so quickly, nor would I be here today."

I smiled and shook his hand. "Uncle, you deserve this."

...

After the meeting ended, I sent someone to deliver the news to Harvey. Didn't he want the Mann family fortune? No matter what, I wouldn't make things easy for him.

I thought it would be a bit of a blow to him, but I never expected to hear that he had committed suicide in prison because he couldn't adapt to life there. I knew that was just an excuse for the public; he couldn't accept the outcome, and that ultimately led to his end. I had his body donated directly, without even allowing him to be buried in the family plot.

As for Ricky, I found someone reliable to ensure he lived a life worse than death. In this life, I wanted him to experience the same suffering he inflicted on me. And when he got out of prison, Jeff wouldn't let him off either.

Now that Jeff had taken full control of the family assets, how could he forgive a scheming half-brother?

As for my mom, I never visited her, not even once.

She had been willing to sacrifice me for Harvey and Kelli, even willing to hurt my grandfather. I couldn't forgive her, nor did I want to see her again.

Later, I began to use the shares and properties my grandfather had given me to plan my new life.

I invested in some projects and participated in various charitable activities, giving back to society in my own way.

As time passed, I gradually withdrew from the conflicts within the Mann family and began living a peaceful and fulfilling life.

In this life, I cherished every moment and treasured the hard-won freedom and happiness.

I often recalled my grandfather's words.

He told me that true wealth wasn't money, but the ability to live according to your own wishes.

And now, I had finally achieved that.

My life was no longer centered around hatred and revenge.

From now on, it would be nothing but good days ahead.
