Chapter 205
Victoria was about to push away his hand from her back, but froze completely.
Her mind suddenly clearedthe cost of pushing him away was just too high, way too high.
Deep down, she knew she couldn't afford it.
Victoria let out a breath, blinking her dry, aching eyes, and let her fingers that had just touched his gray shirt drop weakly to her side.
Aaron caught this movement and frowned, "Martin, can't you see she doesn't want this?"
"Who told you she doesn't want it?" Martin sneered, then turned his head to look at Victoria, curling his lips smugly with a smile, "Honey, tell Mr. Hillare you willing to let me treat you like this?"
Victoria noticed Aaron's concerned gaze focusing on her again.
Of course she wasn't willingshe wasn't into being abused, she wasn't a masochist.
The air pressure in the mall suddenly felt very low, probably because the air wasn't circulating well.
The suffocating feeling made Victoria's breathing quicken.
That's how people arewhen you're happy, even the air feels sweet.
When you're sad, even breathing becomes difficult.
But what could she do about not being willing anymore?
She couldn't do anything, couldn't change anything.
Aaron was a really, really good personat least that's what Victoria thought. He'd finally made it back home, earned his biological father's respect, and deserved a better future.
Not to be tangled up with someone like her.
Victoria looked at Aaron for a long moment.
Martin's hand around her waist tightened even more, seemingly very dissatisfied with her behavior, and also seemingly warning her.
"Officer Hill, my husband treats me very well, so you don't need to stand up for me." Victoria smiled and spoke calmly.
As she spoke, her long, curled lashes trembled like a moth making its final flutters before death.
Martin's expression softened considerably. He narrowed his eyes and looked at Aaron provocatively, "You heard that? Mind your own business."
"Honey, let's go home." Martin deliberately provoked Aaron by kissing Victoria's cheek.
Victoria instinctively wanted to struggle, but didn't dare.
Fortunately, Martin just gave her a quick peck and didn't go too far.
As they passed by Aaron, he grabbed Martin's arm, "Can we talk?"
"I'm not interested in talking to you." Martin sneered. He'd never taken Aaron seriously.
Although his own birth wasn't noble, at least he wasn't a bastard child.
Bastard children were like rats in the gutter, couldn't see the light of day. Even though Aaron had now become CEO of the Hill Group and wore fancy clothes, it still couldn't change his lowly birth.
Martin thought Aaron's mother liked to wreck other people's marriages, so naturally Aaron inherited and carried forward this "fine tradition."
Only being interested in married women wasn't surprising at all.
Aaron glanced at Victoria held in Martin's arms, then looked back at Martin, "About Ms. Gonzalez—you sure you're not interested?"
His tone was mocking.
Martin's expression changed slightly. He let go of Victoria and shoved the car keys into her hand, "Wait for me in the car."
He was curious what Aaron wanted to tell him. About how he and Victoria had an affair during their trip to Rainbow Town?
About how Victoria secretly aborted their child for this bastard?
Victoria worried that Martin would go crazy and drag Aaron into it, and was about to speak.
Martin saw her concerned look and felt uncomfortable. His tone got heavier, "So worried about him? You two really do have quite the relationship."
"No." Victoria quickly denied it.
She knew Martin was the most suspicious type of man.
If she hesitated even a second, he might turn his fire on Aaron.
Martin was smart enough to see through her thoughts. He said irritably, "Then why aren't you leaving?"
"Ms. Gonzalez, no need to worry. Mr. Collins is a civilized man, and besides, the mall is a public place—nothing will happen." Aaron said gently.
Victoria gripped the uncomfortable car keys in her hand, turned and took the elevator, leaving the mall.
Aaron watched Victoria's retreating figure for a long time. The more he looked, the more he felt her life was slowly draining away.
This wasn't a normal person's body at all, no vitality whatsoever, like a flower about to rot. Even though the petals were still fresh, the stem had long been eaten away by worms.
Aaron frowned. Could Martin really not notice that something was wrong with Victoria's body?
Did he truly not know, or was he pretending not to know?
Martin saw his increasingly furrowed brow and increasingly serious, complex expression. Martin felt angry, "Aaron, she's my wife. Haven't you looked enough?"
Right in front of her, so shameless about it?
He thought Aaron really had no taste—to still be interested in Victoria looking like that now was really something.
Victoria's figure had completely disappeared from the mall.
Aaron withdrew his gaze, looked up, and his honest eyes returned to Martin, "Ms. Gonzalez and I are just friends, completely innocent. Mr. Collins, as Ms. Gonzalez's husband, you should trust her, love her. Not slander her based on your own imagination."
"She said she's doing great with me, very happy." Martin sneered.
Aaron's lips curved up in a mocking smile, "Is she really doing great, really happy?"
This sentence was like ripping off Martin's mask.
Of course she wasn't happy.
Of course she wasn't doing well.
Always arguing.
Even having a child required negotiating with him.
"Aaron, there are some things I don't mention—not because I don't know, but because I don't want to argue with you." Martin laughed coldly. He was referring to Victoria and Aaron living together in the rental in Rainbow Town.
Martin turned to leave.
"Since you know, why are you still making her get pregnant?" Aaron's question came again.
He was referring to Victoria having terminal liver cancer.
But Martin didn't catch the deeper meaning, thinking it was a provocation. He turned back with a cold smile, "Aaron, Victoria and I are still husband and wife. Her having children for me is perfectly natural. It's her responsibility."
Actually, his real motive was that he felt Victoria was getting further and further away from him.
So far he could barely hold on to her.
So he desperately wanted a child.
How ridiculous—his marriage had reached the point where it needed a child to hold it together.
"Martin, do you really know what I'm talking about?" Aaron frowned, looking at him strangely.
They didn't seem to be talking about the same thing.
Martin didn't want to hear him talk anymore. He warned him to stay away from Victoria in the future, then strode toward the public elevator with his long legs.
"Victoria has terminal liver cancer. She can't get pregnant. If you really love her, if you really want her to live a bit longer, you should take her to get an abortion! Let her have a liver transplant instead!" Aaron couldn't hold it in anymore. He had to make this clear, spell it out.
Maybe if Martin talked to Victoria, she would listen.
