Chapter 142
Victoria was wearing a black jacket that was strikingly conspicuous.
Martin recognized it at a glance—it was Aaron's jacket. He had seen Aaron wearing it once when he came to the Gonzalez Group for a meeting.
Martin didn't get out of the car right away. Instead, he sat in the driver's seat, rolled down the window, and lit a cigarette, hoping it would help him calm down.
But even after he finished the entire cigarette, the two were still at the door of the business van, chatting reluctantly.
Martin couldn't take it anymore. He pushed open the car door, got out, and walked over with a cold laugh. "Haven't you two talked enough? Why don't Officer Hill come upstairs for a coffee and chat with my wife some more?"
Victoria didn't need to turn around to know who it was.
She hadn't wanted Martin to see this, afraid he would misunderstand, but the more you fear something, the more likely it is to happen.
"Mr. Hill, about what I just mentioned, I'm counting on you. And thank you for bringing me back." Victoria looked at Aaron with a grateful smile.
Actually, she didn't want to smile at all, but she didn't want Aaron to feel sad for her.
"Ms. Gonzalez, you're too kind." Aaron stood with one hand in his pocket.
The way they looked at each other made Martin furious!
Were they treating him like he was invisible?
Martin suddenly yanked the black jacket off her and threw it to Aaron.
But his words were directed at Victoria. "What? Haven't I bought you enough clothes? You have to wear another man's jacket?"
Both sarcastic and mocking.
Although Victoria was used to this by now, her heart still ached unbearably.
Victoria didn't want to mock and hurt each other in front of Aaron. Pretending not to see him, she clutched her black handbag and turned to walk toward the apartment.
How could Martin stand being ignored like this?
He grabbed her wrist and yanked her back.
His large hand precisely locked around her waist. Before she could react, he kissed her lips!
A sense of humiliation rose from the depths of her heart.
Victoria resisted, trying to push him away!
But he locked her throat, dominating and bruising her lips. The pain made tears stream down her face.
Aaron stepped forward, frowning. "Martin, what are you doing? Can't you see she's crying? Can't you see she's in pain?"
"Officer Hill, has anyone ever told you that you're really annoying and love to meddle in other people's business? How my wife and I are is none of your concern. Why aren't you leaving? Or do you want to join in?" Martin's cool, thin lips moved away from Victoria's and he smiled provocatively at Aaron.
Hearing this, Victoria only felt it was ironic.
A cold glint flashed in Aaron's eyes. "Even if you're her husband, you should respect her wishes! Not force her."
"I'm forcing her?" Martin laughed, glancing at Victoria trapped in his arms, and smiled gently. "Victoria, tell Officer Hill, am I forcing you?"
Victoria didn't want to drag Aaron into this, so she could only swallow her grievances, looked up at the clean and handsome Aaron. "Mr. Hill, I'm fine. Please go."
"You heard her, my wife wants you to leave." Martin's lips curved in a smile, his eyes full of disdain.
Aaron clenched his fists, but since Victoria had said this much, he couldn't say anything more. After all, this was between husband and wife.
With this thought, Aaron turned and left.
Victoria watched him leave and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
This subtle reaction caught Martin's eye and seemed particularly glaring. She was his wife, yet she cared so much about a strange man?
Could her wanting a divorce really be because of Aaron, this illegitimate child?
Martin's well-defined fingers suddenly grabbed her chin and turned it toward him. "He's already gone, haven't you seen enough? Do you know what shame is?"
He actually said she had no shame.
He didn't know that if Aaron hadn't appeared in time just now, she really would have died from the pain.
Victoria felt her heart had long been shattered by Martin into pieces that could never be put back together.
Knocking his hand away, she ran into the apartment.
Then rushed upstairs.
Victoria remembered Mia's words—Martin knew she had a terminal illness but still forced her to have a child!
He didn't care about her life or death, didn't care about her safety!
He cheated and took wedding photos with Mia!
In front of her, he ate the soup Mia fed him!
What did he take her for?
She was a living person—what did he take her for!
Victoria ran to the second-floor living room, covered her mouth and broke down crying.
Martin followed right behind her upstairs. Hearing her crying, he frowned.
To get a divorce, she lied to him about having a terminal illness!
Taking vitamins as painkillers, acting in front of him—he almost fell for it!
Martin was annoyed by her crying. He grabbed her chin and smiled coldly. "What are you crying about? Upset that I interrupted your date with Aaron?"
"Martin, you're really shameless!"
"I'm shameless? If I'm shameless, would I agree to your shameless conditions? Give you three hundred million dollars in cash, prepay one hundred million dollars for your father's medical expenses? Give you Victoria fifty percent of the Gonzalez Group shares? Victoria, you're really heartless. Are you treating me like a fool?"
Victoria's chin was pinched so hard by him it felt like it would dislocate, tears streaming down.
"Playing pitiful again? You do this every time. Do you think I'm easy to fool?"
"Martin, why did I have to meet you! How was I so blind to marry you! I was so stupid, this must be my punishment for not listening to my mother!" Victoria laughed bitterly.
That's why she got a terminal illness, that's why the Gonzalez family fell into decline, that's why Hayden fell down the stairs and got dementia.
That's why she still hasn't found the hit-and-run driver from Hayden's accident!
Victoria's words made Martin's face frost over. "Say that again!"
"I said I regret it! Martin, I regret meeting you! I regret falling in love with you! I regret it, I regret it!" Victoria shouted with red eyes.
As soon as the words left her mouth, Martin hoisted her over his shoulder.
His shoulder pressed uncomfortably against her. His steps were quick and urgent. Victoria's fists pounded frantically on his back. "Put me down! Martin! What are you doing!"
The anger in Martin's heart could no longer be controlled. He kicked open the master bedroom door and threw her down hard.
She landed on the bed.
Immediately after, Martin's large hands tore apart the down jacket Hayden was wearing. The down feathers floated helplessly in the night, just like her tragic fate.
"You regret it, right? I'll make you regret it! I'll make you regret it!" Martin's eyes were bloodshot. He irritably yanked off his tie, pulled Victoria over roughly, and forcefully blocked her crimson lips.
