Chapter 138
Seeing Martin had no reaction, Victoria had to raise the stakes. She suddenly grabbed the scissors and stabbed them fiercely toward her belly.
Just as the scissors were about to pierce her stomach.
Martin's hand shot out swiftly and firmly, gripping the blade.
The blade cut into his palm, making him frown in pain.
Bright red blood dripped down, falling onto the floor.
Victoria knew she had won her gamble. Martin snatched the scissors away and threw them on the ground.
"You hate this child that much? Victoria, you're even more shameless than I thought!" Martin's other hand gripped her throat tightly.
His facial features were tense, veins bulging on his forehead.
Victoria was in so much pain she wanted to cry but had no tears left—she'd already cried them all out. She smiled at him: "Martin, if you want me to have this child, then sign! Otherwise, once you leave, I have plenty of ways to make it disappear! Your bodyguards outside can't stop me!"
Her words completely enraged Martin.
She almost thought he was going to strangle her to death.
But then he let go of her with hatred.
Martin, with his bleeding hand, bent down to pick up the two contracts from the floor. He flipped them open, grabbed the pen prepared on the table, and signed his name without hesitation.
"Martin, you need to fulfill these conditions right away!" Victoria gasped for fresh air, then spoke.
Because only she knew that this child couldn't be born—it would only die in her belly.
The longer she dragged it out, the greater the chance Martin would back out.
Only by negotiating the terms upfront and getting the actual benefits in hand would they be real.
Martin flew into a rage and threw a punch.
Victoria quickly closed her eyes in fear.
When she opened them at the sound, she saw he had smashed the vase beside her, shattering it all over the floor.
"Victoria, you think you've got me figured out, don't you?" Martin growled.
Victoria's heart ached from his cold, harsh words, but she could still endure it and continue negotiating with him: "It's mainly because your character is too poor, Martin. I don't trust you."
"You don't trust me? This is my child—would I treat him badly?" Martin laughed bitterly. No one knew how much he valued this child!
How much he hoped this child would come into this world and call him father!
Victoria sneered: "Don't you also not trust me? Martin, we've reached this point—there's no trust left between us."
"Fine, fine, Victoria!"
Martin glared at her, saying "fine" several times, then pulled out his phone and called Brian, telling him to bring the stock transfer documents to the apartment.
Brian was a bit confused, unable to understand why Martin would transfer away valuable shares. He instinctively asked, but got thoroughly chewed out by Martin, who told him to get it done before dark or he'd be fired.
Brian moved very quickly. In less than ten minutes, he arrived with a lawyer and bank staff carrying a POS machine for on-site service.
The three hundred million dollars in cash Victoria demanded was transferred to her account.
The fifty percent stake in the Gonzalez Group she requested was also transferred to her name.
Including dozens of properties and one hundred million dollars for Hayden's medical expenses—everything was fulfilled.
By the time all this was done, it was already evening.
Brian left with the lawyer and others.
Martin didn't even want to look at her anymore and turned to leave.
She blocked his way again.
"What more do you want?! Haven't you caused enough trouble?" Martin said impatiently.
Victoria smiled lightly: "Martin, you still owe me one last thing!"
"You're never satisfied, are you?" Martin narrowed his eyes.
Victoria looked at him and murmured: "You need to swear to me that no matter what happens in the future, you'll let go of your hatred and take care of my parents in their old age! Help the Gonzalez family!"
"Victoria, what gives you the nerve to treat me like this?" Martin suddenly grabbed her throat, pushing her against the wall, his eyes red as he demanded answers.
He had satisfied so many of Victoria's unreasonable demands, and she still wanted him to make a vow?
Who did she think she was? They were blood enemies!
Yet she was using his concern for this child to make one unreasonable demand after another.
In the past, when Martin lost his temper, Victoria would panic and be afraid, but now her heart was unusually calm. Perhaps people about to die are all this calm.
"Martin, I know you want me dead. You're hoping I'll die soon."
"Good that you know!"
"I'll let you have your wish—you don't need to be anxious! But you have to make this vow!"
"Victoria, shut up!" Martin was very irritated by Victoria's attitude and roared.
Why was she constantly talking about death, death, death now?
It made Martin furious.
When had he ever wanted her to die? He just wanted her to bear children!
Shouldn't a wife bear children for her husband?
The Victoria of the past had wanted so much to have his children.
But now, to have her child, she was scheming so much!
The Victoria before him didn't seem like the simple girl who loved him from his memories anymore.
Realizing her change, Martin couldn't control his anger and irritation: "I don't want to hear you talk!"
Victoria smiled bitterly. So they'd reached the point where they couldn't even have a proper conversation.
"You have to swear that if you break your promise and settle scores with my parents and the Gonzalez family later, you'll die alone, childless, with no descendants, and die a horrible death!"
"Victoria, you're cursing me to die horribly?"
"How many times have you cursed me? Martin, show some sincerity. Or are you just lying to me? You never intended to help my parents at all?"
"Have this child, and everything will be fine!" Martin's eyes suppressed some emotion as he laughed in anger.
"Martin, I'm not an idiot! Terms need to be negotiated at the very beginning—that's what you once taught me. Have you forgotten?"
Victoria mocked with a smile: "Hurry up, you're just one step away! You swear, and I'll believe you!"
Veins bulged on the back of Martin's hand, his face flushed red as he glared at her, wanting to tear her apart, but his large hand gripping her throat never applied force, some emotion being suppressed with extreme rationality and restraint.
"Martin, is it that hard to make a vow? You really never intended to spare my parents, did you?" Victoria smiled at him, questioning: "You plan to break down the Gonzalez family one by one, torturing them to death one after another—that's your goal, isn't it?"
As soon as Victoria finished speaking, she saw Martin's eyes redden, and a tear actually broke through, as he said the next words through gritted teeth. Victoria was quite surprised. This was the first time she'd seen his tears filled with hatred!
