Chapter 181 New Spokesperson

Chapter 181 New Spokesperson

Julie and Leo stared at the TV interview, both pouting with sullen expressions.

Evelyn walked up from behind and saw the broadcast featuring Hannah and Harry's interview.

Over the past month, Hannah had frequently appeared in the public eye with Harry, successfully crafting a new image for herself—a single mother raising her son alone while struggling to keep Scott Corporation afloat.

Public opinion online had reversed, with considerable sympathy for Hannah.

Though the heat around Ryan's incident had died down, Hannah and Harry had gained significant attention.

"You two—you get upset when I don't let you watch, and you sulk when you do. What exactly do you want?" Evelyn's voice came from behind.

Both children turned around and ran to her. "We're worried Harry will learn bad things from that wicked woman."

"Why is she so awful? You and Ryan have nothing to do with each other anymore—you're separated! Why does she keep slandering you and Louis?"

Looking at Julie and Leo's innocent faces, Evelyn didn't know quite how to explain.

The two children could already distinguish right from wrong. They knew what was good and what wasn't.

Evelyn was their mother. They knew her better than anyone and didn't want to see others slander her.

She affectionately touched both children's heads and, after a moment's thought, patiently explained, "Everyone is different. We can't control what others think—we can only make sure we ourselves are kind people."

"So, are you two ready?"

Seeing Evelyn's delighted expression, the two little ones obediently shook their heads, genuinely unsure what they should be ready for.

"I'm planning to have you two become spokespersons for a children's cold medicine."

The children's faces lit up with excitement. "Like Harry?"

Seeing their joy, a smile appeared on Evelyn's face.

Though the children had never made any demands, she knew that attending the same kindergarten as a child star like Harry would naturally invite comparisons.

"But didn't you say before that you didn't want us to be too conspicuous?" Julie asked carefully, her face full of obedient concern.

Seeing her cautious expression, Evelyn felt a pang of heartache.

This children's cold medicine was a research achievement from their laboratory.

In fact, the domestic branch of the lab had already been established, but she hadn't wanted too much publicity, so she'd kept it low-key.

Especially now, with so much controversy swirling around, she didn't want her affairs to affect the laboratory.

But this was their independent research and development after all. The lab staff had all recommended it, which was why Evelyn came back to ask the children's opinion.

"Because this cold medicine is a research achievement from Mommy's laboratory, you two are the most suitable spokespersons."

"If you don't want to, you can refuse."

Hearing this, Julie and Leo visibly brightened. Seeing their delight and innocent smiles, Evelyn felt warmth spread through her heart.

As long as she had these two children, everything was worthwhile.

"Of course we're willing!" Julie immediately agreed, and Leo chimed in, "Since it's Mommy's research achievement, of course we should be the spokespersons."

Seeing the children's happiness, Evelyn's smile deepened. She decided on the spot to take them to the shoot the next day.

At the appointed time, Evelyn brought the children to the photography studio. After giving them a few simple instructions, she stood aside and waited while reviewing the work log Leona had sent her.

It clearly recorded Ryan's physical condition over this period.

Fortunately, Evelyn had previously reminded the medical staff to keep Ryan under strict observation, and they'd quickly discovered something suspicious.

Some time ago, surveillance footage showed someone sneaking near Ryan's room disguised as medical personnel.

Every time this person left, Ryan's condition would deteriorate.

The medical team quickly analyzed Ryan's blood samples and discovered someone was secretly poisoning him.

Through the surveillance, they soon traced the person's secret contact—it was Hannah.

The hospital staff knew this was no small matter. If Ryan actually died in their facility, they could face serious trouble.

But they didn't dare openly offend Hannah, so they could only try to stabilize Ryan's vital signs—keeping him neither awake nor dead, to avoid arousing Hannah's suspicion. The longer this went on, the more evidence of Hannah's actions would accumulate.

After reading the contents, a contemptuous cold smile appeared on Evelyn's face, though her eyes held greater determination and resolve.

Louis had previously mentioned that the Windsor family overseas was currently opposing Layla, and the situation was delicate—one wrong move could trigger everything. They couldn't act rashly.

Either strike with a killing blow, or lie low for now.

It seemed Leona's thinking aligned with Louis's.

At this thought, Evelyn sighed helplessly, knowing the real confrontation was about to begin.

Just then, Louis suddenly appeared, walking straight toward her. "What are you looking at so intently?"

Evelyn smiled and shook her head, discreetly darkening her phone screen. She didn't plan to tell him about Ryan.

"Data from the laboratory. Our research and development has been quite successful."

"I was just thinking about you, and here you are already. We really are connected."

Hearing Evelyn's words, Louis's face showed a hint of pride. "Need you even ask? I knew you were thinking of me, so I couldn't wait to see you."

The two chatted and laughed. Louis gently drew Evelyn into his embrace, and together they watched the two little ones cooperating with the photographer for the commercial shoot.

He'd come today because the Windsor family had nearly encountered trouble as well.

Since publicly announcing their relationship, Louis had responded once, stating that his marriage to Chloe was not legitimate.

His attitude had angered both the Windsor and Taylor families, making the relationship between the two families extremely awkward.

He'd thought Marcus would surely fly into a rage and restrict him. But unexpectedly, Marcus had discovered that Ryan's assault was connected to Layla.

He naturally guessed this was Layla's scheme, perhaps deliberately targeting Windsor Corporation.

Therefore, Marcus turned a blind eye to Louis's actions.

After all, compared to the Windsor-Taylor marriage alliance, dealing with Layla's overseas forces and various illegal operations was currently the most important matter.
