Chapter 24: You Are Safe Now

Chapter 24: You Are Safe Now

Yvonne

"We can have fun with her and she is a beautiful lady, I am thinking we can make more money for her if we sell the video." One of the men said evilly.

My eyes widened in horror and I turned around to run but there were three other men blocking my way. I immediately wrapped my hand around my stomach, scared to death for myself and my unborn baby. I trembled in fear and I backed off.

"Let me go," I was frightened but I tried to stay as brave as I could.

There were five of them and there was no way I could run from them. The first person that came to mind as fear engulfed me was Nathan but he was nowhere to be found.

One of them took out a camera and my body started shaking in fright. I backed off until I felt a cold surface of the wall hit my back. I am surrounded. Nathan, where are you? I need you right now, something bad might happen to our baby.

'He is not coming, Yvonne. Come to sense.' The voice ringed in my head.

He doesn't love you, the one he loves is back and carrying his child so you are of no use to him now. You mean nothing to him, his family is complete now so he doesn't need anyone else.

The voice kept ringing in my head and I looked in horror as one of them took out something that looked like a syringe. He came towards me with heavy steps and my body turned cold in fear. I put a shaking hand on my stomach protectively as I looked at the other men who were staring and laughing at me evilly and one of them focused on the camera.

"W…what do you want from me?" I tried saying bravely but my voice shook.

They laughed loudly like someone possessed and I felt like they came directly from hell as their evil laugh surrounded my ear.

"I can give you money if you let me go." I said.

The man who was coming towards me with the injection in his hand stopped and looked at me before looking at the camera.

"Really? Do you think I will believe you?" He said and laughed sarcastically.

"I am not lying, I promise." I tried to negotiate and buy some time.

He was about to respond when another man came to him and whispered something in his ear. He raised his one eyebrow and smirked before focusing on me again.

"Let's say I believe you, what are you going to give me?" He put the cap of injection carefully before putting it back in his pocket.

I almost sighed in relief to see that ye was not going to inject me. So now, all I need is to get out of here. I was about to reply when we heard a police siren, the one that was holding the camera quickly put it down. All of them panicked and looked at each other before looking at me.

"Help!" I screamed on top of my lungs ro get the attention of whoever was around.

They quickly ran away, hearing footsteps coming near and I also ran towards the sound of the siren but suddenly I felt like I hit something on the floor and backed away. I stumbled in the process, hitting the wall with my head as my vision darkened.

As I became fully conscious, I quickly checked myself and I was okay except the back of my head was hurting. I looked around and found two young boys who looked like they were in their early twenties, staring at me.

"Are you okay, Miss?" One of them asked as he crouched down in front of me. I backed away suddenly, feeling scared but he stopped instantly.

"It is okay, don't be scared. We are not going to hurt you, relax." He said gently, putting his hands in the air in surrender.

I looked at them suspiciously and I noticed the other guy had some kind of device in his hand. He smiled at me warmly and nodded before kneeling down like his friend.

"We saw a few men surrounding you and figured you needed help so in order to scare them away, we used this to make a police car sound." They both smiled widely.

"It is okay, you are safe now." The one with blue eyes said and slowly brought a hand to my head, assessing my reaction.

When I didn't back off, he patted my head gently assuring me that everything is okay now. The dark moment had passed and now everything is fine. I am safe and my unborn child is also safe. As the realization hit me, my tears rolled down like an unstoppable tsunami. They both panicked and looked like they didn't know what to do. I shook my head while crying so hard.

"T..thank you so much." I tried to say in a broken voice between tears and they realized what I was saying, they both smiled and shook their heads.

"It is okay, we only did what was right. Are you okay now?" He asked gently and I nodded, getting up from the ground.

"This area is not safe, come on let's get you a taxi to take you home." They smiled and I nodded.

They brought me to the main road and stopped a cap for and one of them gave the driver money before speaking.

"Drive her safely to her destination."

"Y.. you don't have to pay for me." I said and took out my wallet from my bag but he stopped me.

"No worries, it is nothing." He patted the side of my head softly and gestured towards the car.

"What about those guys?" I asked hesitantly, I didn't want what happened to me to happen to any other girl. Their eyes turned dangerous in anger but they looked at me and smiled.

"We will handle them, don't worry. We won't let those bastards go and hurt more people." I nodded, feeling very safe around them and smiled.

They both smiled back and nodded, I sat in the car and they waved at me. I waves back, smiling in tears. On my way back home, I decided to tell everything to Nathan and listen to his side of the story as well. Maybe I misunderstood what I saw in the hospital and I also wanted to tell him about my pregnancy. I can't bring myself to believe that he would hurt betray me kike this. He is not that kind of a person.

I reached home and went straight towards the house, the maids told me that Nathan is back and in his study room, waiting for me. My heart thumped in anxiousness, thinking about facing him and I was scared even though I tried to convince myself to believe in him.

He is not like that, he won't just throw me away just like that. Although we had an agreement that we will end this contract marriage if any of us wants to end it but it was before and now, we are happy together, probably in love too.

I must have misunderstood the situation, I am sure there is another side of this story. I took a deep breath to calm myself down and moved my feet towards the study room.
