Chapter 37 Gavin's Message
Grace, feeling a tinge of guilt, silently turned and entered the hospital room.
But the tears in her eyes fell to the ground.
Inside the room, Henry's phone rang. It was Celeste.
Henry answered the call, and her voice carried a barely noticeable hint of resentment. "Mr. Montague, Mr. Garcia will meet you at the Emerald Oasis Hotel in an hour. Should we go pick up Mr. Garcia now?"
Henry responded flatly, and then hung up the phone.
He placed the phone beside him and looked at Grace with a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Mr. Garcia is coming to Evergreen City. I remember you play the violin quite well. If you agree to the condition I just mentioned, I might add a clause for you to study under Mr. Garcia."
With that, he knew he had made himself clear. Regardless of Grace's reaction, he got up and left the room.
Grace watched his departing figure and then glanced at the message on her phone.
[Grace, I'm back. How about we find some time to meet up? I'll treat you to a meal.]
Grace picked up her phone, replied to the message, and then put the phone down. Her eyes were red.
Looking at the empty room, helplessness and pain overwhelmed her, and she clutched the blanket and cried out loud.
Henry saw Grace's broken state through the glass door and couldn't help but sneer.
"Even at this moment, you don't forget to message Lucas. How deeply affectionate!" He emphasized the last word heavily.
But he didn't care about these things because he believed Grace would give him a very satisfactory answer.
Downstairs, a stretch limousine stood out brightly in the night.
Feeling particularly cheerful, everything seemed exceptionally pleasant to him.
After getting in the car, Celeste noticed Henry was in a good mood. But if he had just divorced, he shouldn't be in such a mood, and she quickly figured out the reason.
For a moment, she felt a bit regretful, realizing her chances were getting slimmer.
Henry gazed through the car window at the closed window that belonged to Grace.
He suddenly thought about their future life. They would play the roles of a loving couple, though there would be only sex and no love, which was exactly what he wanted.
His wife didn't need to have feelings.
After all, most couples in their circle were like this. Amara was an example. Although she and Caleb seemed harmonious, there was no love between them.
They would even help their husbands cover up their affairs to maintain their status. Even if the husband got tired of them, they still held leverage over him.
And wasn't that exactly his current situation?
He didn't love Grace, and Grace didn't love him.
This was the best possible state.
If possible, in a few years, he might allow Grace to have a child of the Montague family.
That's all she wanted anyway.
On the road, outside the window, Henry saw Lucas cleaning up fireworks on the roadside and found it amusing.
He didn't pay any attention, just thinking about Grace's violin playing, which felt increasingly familiar.
Soon, the car arrived at the Serenity General Hospital.
But before seeing Elodie, he frowned slightly because her table manners were too unrefined. Aurora had previously used this as a reason to reject the idea of her becoming a daughter-in-law. Elodie smacked her lips when she ate, and he wondered if Gavin could tolerate it.
Compared to Grace, she was far inferior.
Celeste, who paid close attention to Henry's subtle changes, knew he was worried about Elodie's manners. "Mr. Montague, I will teach Miss Williams some dining etiquette later. Mr. Garcia is very cultured and might find Miss Williams' smacking sounds hard to accept."
Henry didn't respond, just thinking about Grace's choice.
Seeing this, Celeste was sure about what she said and went into the hospital to meet Elodie.
On the way, Celeste found Elodie's deliberate outfit amusing. Wearing a white cake dress, she was already short and still chose to wear a dress. But she would get angry when others called her unrefined.
