Liam

I didn't mean it, I didn't mean to throw the glass towards her and I could have sworn I died on the spot as I watched the half-filled glass go for a stomach, I was relieved when it missed her.

I was speechless as she looked at the glass then back at me, she turned and rushed out of the house, by the time I rushed after her, all I saw was a car driving off.

I was mad at myself and I hated myself for almost hurting her, I waited for hours hoping she would come back so that I could apologize to her, but I didn't see Laura, not that day, not the next day Ethan came.

"Where is she?" I asked Ethan looking behind him.

"Where is Laura?"I asked and he frowned.

"I don't know, she's gone," He said and I blinked repeatedly confused.

"What do you mean by gone?" I asked holding one of his hands.

"I mean she left already,"

"My goodness, how come? I didn't get to apologize!" I said running a hand through my hair.

"Apologize? for what?"

"I made a big mistake yesterday, I was angry and I threw a glass cup at her, it almost hit her stomach, I swear I didn't mean it,"

"You did what?" He asked and I sat on the couch because my legs were beginning to shake.

"It was a mistake, I tried following her but she left in a car, I didn't know she wasn't going to come back," I said feeling a headache already.

"Well, she's gone,"

"Where is she? I'll go there, at least to apologize to her," I said and he shook his head.

"I'm sorry Liam, I don't know," he said and I shook my head in disbelief.

"But... But she said she had something important to tell me, she hasn't told me yet,"

"You are wrong Liam, she did, she said it but you didn't hear her, she wrote it but you didn't read it, she even sang it as a song but Liam you didn't listen," he said but I wasn't really listening, I could feel myself slipping away.

Like that I lost myself, I became like I was when Laura left the first time this time there was no pressing big project to distract me.

For days I couldn't go out, I didn't have the energy to do anything, I felt more miserable than I felt the first time Laura left, I barely noticed thing around me, everything just felt black, like Laura took the light in my life and left me in total darkness.

"You can't keep being like this, it's been two weeks and you look miserable," Ethan said and I nodded.

"I don't know Ethan, I don't have the strength," I said and he sat beside me on the couch.

"Just say anything, talk to me and let me know you'll be fine,"

"That's the problem, I don't think I'll ever be fine again, you know I wasn't like this with Nathalie, I don't know what is going on with me anymore, after all, she did, I still yearn for her, I want her to come back, Ethan, I think I'm dying," I explained and he stood up.

"Laura is going to be really mad at me, I know I'm going to break my promise," he said pacing and I stood up confused.

"What promise, do you know where she is?"I asked hopeful but that hope was shattered.

"I was telling the truth, Liam, I don't tell know where she went, I wish I did but she refused to tell, she's been planning it for so long and she didn't let anything slip," he said and I frowned.

"What do you mean by she's been planning to leave?" I asked and he stopped.

"We both knew she was leaving, she told you countless times Liam, I thought you'll be suspicious or you'll put up a little fight but you didn't and I was bounded by the promise I made to her," he said and I could feel myself begin to feel impatient.

"What are you saying, Ethan? I don't understand, talk to me," I demanded and he murmured something I didn't hear.

"Laura didn't do anything wrong, she did everything to protect you," he said I frowned.

"Everything was planned, Laura made all of us promise to help and as your friend I wanted to help you, the text from Natalie and the story I cooked up about seeing Laura with a guy were planned, Laura didn't take your money, the 50 billion dollars is in an account and I have the details with me, she didn't take a dime," Ethan said and my legs gave out, I crumbled to the floor.

"There is no man anywhere Liam, Laura didn't fake anything, her love for you is genuine, she stayed alone for over two months while we worked on the final proposal, all she had was Tracy and Isabella visiting and bringing her news about you, sometimes she would beg Isabella to take a picture of you so she could see you,"

"She was never interested in your money, we planned it so that she and the babies would be safe, and you would have a chance to work with Don Pablo, we were going to tell you about the whole thing after the result came out, that was what I was going to tell you that night in the conference room but I was called away and you got into an accident,"

"Laura refused to tell you the truth because she believes she's cursed and she's been bringing you nothing but bad luck, she was at the hospital because she wanted to stay with you to make sure you are feeling better before she left,"

"We tried out best to convince her that she's not cursed but she refused, she made us promise not to tell you anything but Liam, I can't take it anymore,"

"A lot of times I wanted to punch you for being mean to her, but it was not possible, she is very tired Liam, almost always tired but she refused to leave your side, the babies, your babies are taking so much of her strength that I'm even scared of her health,"

"When she told me she would find something to do to earn money once they are settled, I felt bad so I offered to give her 500 thousand dollars, guess what, She said no,"

"The ring, Liam the ring you were asking for that made you say those harsh words to her was with her, she didn't sell it, she wore it as a necklace because the babies made her so fat she couldn't keep it on her finger," he explained and I shook my head in regret.

"Ethan, I think I'm going to die," I said and he moved closer to me.

"I was mean to her, I was very mean to her, I said harsh things to her, I said a lot, I called her names but all she was trying to do was protect me," I said unable to stand up or even do anything.

"I wish I could have told you earlier, but I couldn't, I'm sorry,"

"Ethan, you don't get it, the woman I love, the woman I'm crazy about was trying to protect me but I was mean to her, I called her a whore, I called her a fraud," I said and for the first time in a very long time, I cried like a baby.
