John POV
The hint from Vincent made me realise that the twins were just hiding their power and influence all this while. I don't know why, though, but knowing about it has actually made me know who to offend and who to dare not.
Back to Richard. Hearing that he was about to elevate his power how can they keep calm anymore? Because once Richard succeeds they might change from being his friends to being his subordinates which they can't even digest whenever it came to their mind. Although Richard understands the human mind and knows how dangerous it can be, he still underestimates it as it hasn't even been up to two weeks since he told them about it, and they set him up, which ended up killing him.
After finding out how tightly secured Richard's property was they tried another strategy which was to marry Grace and through her become Natalia's father, then they would hurry her education and help her smoothly inherit the position before making sure that every wealth that got into Natalia account will be drained into theirs, with time their wealth will grow more and more as anyone who inherited his assets even though they might not reach Vincent level, they will still not be at the same level with us.
And once again, fate played with them as Grace rejected all of them, giving none of them any face; that was when I noticed she must have been aware of the whole asset thing. And because Grace gave none of them any chance to target her at all, they have no other option but to give up because killing Grace will do them no good and even bring the eye of the government more to them.
Everywhere was calm until Grace married Jake, reawakening their wild desire once more. But this time, they need more people to make their plans and have a higher chance of succeeding, but is it that easy to get people as rich as you just because you want to? But my case is different.
I have no other option than to join in, the main reason being because of Vincent's suppression. The world thought that the John and his son is the leader and CEO of Largo but what none of them knew was they I am only but Vincent toy CEO who he orders about and commands to do his bidding. If I'm told to kneel for a whole day for a single error then I have no option than to do it or else I don't even know how I die.
The oppression was so unbearable that he totally ordered my wife to be exempted from the family and become the head cook, as she originally had nothing to do with the Largo's, and I dare not question that. He also told my elder sister that any time she is visiting, she is forbidden to bring any of her sons to the family as they have nothing to do with Largo even though she is Largo; that was why my sister came earlier during the event with none of her two sons. Originally, because of that order, she refused to ever step foot into the Largo family ever again, but this time Vincent sent him a message, 'Either she is present or she watches her two sons be trained to become one of his men' with such a 'simple message' how dare she not come? She was already here even before we woke up for the day.
He was the reason why my son Ethan has no girlfriend or date as he told him not to be distracted and focus on managing the family companies or he could step down and retire; how can my son bear to be useless and not do anything? So, he would rather become a figurative CEO than a happy, useless lover. I have seen my son beg Vincent many times for rules I wasn't even aware of, even to the extent of going on his knees, but Vincent will only stare at his submitted self and still not accept his plea; I will ask him what Vincent ordered but he will just smile it off and leave. He is just the manager of Largo Technologies and not the CEO of Largo.
Just like me, we are both Vincent managers, so when 'they' call me to join them in their plans, how can I still say no? Unless I'm deranged and love going on my knees for my fellow man whilst begging for mercy, that's the only reason I could say no to such an opportunity.
At least if their plan succeeds, I won't only be acquiring a wealth not weaker than the current Largo wealth but I might succeed in merging the wealth I acquire and the Largo wealth whilst reaching Vincent level. If it failed I could entirely make away with the wealth I acquired with my sons whilst leaving the Largo technologies to the real owner, Vincent. But now Vincent is starting to make friends with Grace which is not a good thing to 'us' Infact it's a very bad news.
I have known Vincent for a long time to know that he rarely interacts with anyone at all. "I will have to call them" I took in a deep breath and dialled a number whilst leaving the balcony and entering my room.
"Hello, little John", a voice sounded from the other side.
"I have told you to stop calling me that, but you seem not to listen; you are only two years older than me, which is nothing, Andrew", I gritted out, but he only chuckled.
"When you love going on your kneels for another man with your head hung low like a housewife, you are already a little", he said. Originally they shouldn't have known if not for the fact that he came to my house once and Vincent happens to appear, I panicked because I knew that he came to punish me for not reaching the plan he told me about the new deal, I should have not thought much and accepted the punishment but Andrew was fucking there.
