Chapter 51

Marion was furious because Clarie had found out about the plan she had laid out neatly without telling anyone. Marion was frustrated, she screamed and roared. She didn't expect that the plans she kept hidden tightly could still be discovered by other people, including her archenemy-Clarie.

"Bastard! How did she know that I'm not pregnant with Lucas' child?!" growled Marion, she scrambled things on the table, messing them up until they scattered and shattered on the floor.

Prang!

"Did that bastard leak everything?! I have to settle accounts with Alex!"

Elsewhere, Clarie calls her husband to ask when he is free to eat out with him.

"Hello honey. I'd like to eat out with you, when do you have time?" she asked.

"Tonight I can, honey, I'll try to get home soon."

"You don't have to go home, we'll meet in person at the restaurant," Clarie pleaded.

"Okay, I'm closing then, honey, I have a client meeting in five minutes. Love you, Clarie."

"Yes," answered Clarie curtly.

She put her cell phone on the table. Clarie looked at Daniele and Alex, the three of them discussed for a long time, talking about plans for tonight. After finding a solution, Alex left to get back to work and prepare for later tonight. While Daniele and Clarie talked for a while, then they both went home together to Daniele's flat.

Clarie had texted Marion telling her which restaurant to meet at. Marion just read it, didn't reply. But, even so, Clarie and Daniele were sure that Marion would come because of her threat.

At eight o'clock in the evening, Clarie had been sitting waiting since 1 hour ago at the restaurant of her choice, she was waiting at a table in the middle, parallel to the restaurant's main door. She occasionally glanced at the clock on the wall in the restaurant, she waited anxiously for her husband and Marion, who had not arrived since earlier.

Clarie, who was getting restless, sent a message to her best friend, saying that her husband and Marion had not arrived yet. Daniele texted back Clarie, telling her not to worry, she was sure Marion and her best friend's husband would come. And sure enough, 5 minutes later as Clarie accidentally glanced at the door of the restaurant, Marion appeared. The woman wore a black above-the-knee dress, matched with heavy makeup, matching her bold and flashy personality.

Unlike Clarie, she polishes her face with flawless makeup. Using a pastel pink dress, Clarie looks elegant with a diamond necklace that Lucas gave her.

Marion approached her, since the woman arrived her face had looked sour, not showing a face that was pleasing to the eye. Marion shifted a chair, sat down on it then placed her tote bag on the table, then took off her sunglasses.

"I come here which isn't mean I'm not afraid of your threats," Marion said straightforwardly, looking calm. "But, I came here to prove that the child I'm carrying is Lucas's."

Marion smiled, and so did Clarie, she just chuckled at Marion's explanation.

"Hehehe ... Never mind Marry, you don't need to be acting anymore, you need to know that Lucas also doesn't believe that you are pregnant with his child," said Clarie, dropping Marion's confidence.

"You bitch! Why do you have such a petty mind?! You don't have a heart, no wonder Lucas is more comfortable with me...he doesn't want to spend time with a woman like you," lied Marion.

Clarie was a little irritated at Marion's words.

"You called me just to ask this? You just want to make sure the fetus I'm carrying isn't Lucas' biological child, right? That won't work! Never mind, Clarie, you better give up and hand Lucas over to me... because he will still be completely mine forever," Mariom leaned back in the chair, folded her arms, and smiled crookedly.

"Why are you so confident, Marry? I have proof that you are pregnant with Alexander's child, that lawyer for your papa's messenger!"

"Shut up bitch!" Marion cursed standing up, glaring at Clarie and her hand reflexively hit the table, enough to make Clarie surprised.

"That's the truth, isn't it?! You can't dodge it anymore, Marion!" cried Clarie could not stand a woman like Marion.

"What do you mean, Clarie said that?!" Lucas said, he was already standing behind Marion sat down. "Why is Marion here, Clarie?" asked Lucas in surprise, he then pulled a chair and sat in the middle of the two women namely his ex-wife and his present wife.

"Come on, Marry ... explain everything, what does Clarie mean by saying that you are pregnant with Alex's child and not mine ?! Lucas demanded, his eyes starting to turn red, his hands clenched, looking at Clarie and Marion alternately.

"N-it's not like that, Luke! Clarie is lying!" Marion said starting to panic, she grabbed her ex-husband's hand, hoping that his wife's words would not be consumed.

"Is that true, Clarie?" Lucas's eyes were sharp, piercing to the core, but Clarie casually answered.

"Just ask her! She will be honest or continue to lie and be a coward forever." Point Clarie at Marion.

"Answer honestly, Marion!" Lucas snapped, glaring at his ex-wife.

Marion had tears in her eyes and Clarie was sure that the woman was acting.

"You don't believe me, do you, Luke? Even though we've been together for more than two years, and you've only known her briefly, but you trust her more, I really can't stop thinking about your thoughts, Luke!" Marion was crying, she covered her whole face with her hands.

Clarie just looked away at Marion's attitude. Lazy to stare at the drama that is being played by that petty woman.

"Answer the truth, Marry! Whether you are carrying my child or not!" Lucas snapped emotionally.

Marion didn't move and suddenly Alex appeared from behind Lucas.

"That's my son, sir. You don't need to worry, because I will take responsibility," said Alex loudly.

Lucas and Marion stared at Alex, then the man came closer to Marion, stroking her back but the woman brushed it off roughly.

"Liar! You're not the father of my child! The father is Lucas, not you!" Marion insisted, glaring at Alexander.

"Come on, Marry, end everything and I can help you start a new, better life," suggested Alex.

"Why are you so sure?!" Lucas asked, standing up to look at Alex.

"Because I have proof that what Marion is carrying is my child, not yours. We had that relationship in the romance booth when Marion was in prison," Alex explained as he took out a piece of paper he was carrying, the results of his DNA test report and the fetus she was carrying. Marion.

"Liar! Go you son of a bitch!" chased Marion to Alex, pushing the man's body, but Marion's strength was not that big and made Alex unable to leave there. "Go away! I'm sick of you! How dare you admit that you're the father of my and Lucas' child!"

Lucas grabbed the paper that Alex had brought before Marion tore it up, Marion was held by Alex while Lucas read the results of the examination.

Suitable?! Lucas gasped, he was completely tricked by Marion.

"So you lied about this, Marry?! How could you!" Lucas growled, he glared at Marion. "I hate you Marry, don't let you appear in front of me again or you will suffer the consequences!" Lucas threatened pointing at Marion.

Now Marion was crying for real, wailing like a madman until her make-up came off and her face became hideous. Lucas grabbed his wife and took her away from there.

"Calm down, Marry, I'm here for you, I'll take responsibility, Marry. We can start a new life," Alex said soothingly, but Marion was stupid, instead she kept moving trying to escape.

However, Alex held Marion's body tightly, and suddenly Marion bit Alex's arm, the man suddenly released his hand from her body, the woman ran fast to chase Lucas and Clarie who were already in the parking lot, Marion intended to harm Clarie.

Marion's right hand held the knife that she took from the restaurant table, she ran fast and was about to stab Clarie's stomach from behind, but luck was in Clarie's hands. Marion slipped because the road was slippery because of the rain, and subconsciously her right hand wanted to support her body, but the knife stabbed into her own stomach instead.

"Argh!" shrieked Marion.

Lucas and Clarie turned to Marion who was groaning because the knife had lodged in her stomach. Even Alex who saw the incident ran in a hurry from inside the restaurant, he immediately looked at Marion and approached the woman to help her.

"Hold on, Marion, I'll save you," said Alex, cradling part of Marion's body.

Lucas and Clarie wanted to help, but Alex forbade them.

"Go... I'll take her to the hospital, you guys go now," Alexander pushed out, his eyes moistened seeing Marion in pain.

Clarie and Lucas had to obey Alex's orders because it was for the common good.

Three months after the incident, every morning Clarie always vomited, Lucas suspected that Clarie was pregnant. If that is true, he will be happy because his little family is complete with the presence of a baby in their midst.

"Are you all right, honey?" Lucas asked, standing beside Clarie, rubbing his wife's back from the nausea and vomiting every morning.

Clarie also doesn't want her to wear perfume as usual, she will also vomit just because she smells Lucas' perfume, it's weird but it really happens, if Lucas uses it Clarie will get angry and kick her out, you can't come near her. Clarie became very sensitive, if she found things that she didn't like around her, including the pungent smell of socks, Clarie would go berserk all the time if Lucas forgot to put them carelessly.

"I think there's something wrong with me, Luke," Clarie said, holding her stomach, staring at her reflection in the full body mirror.

"I think you're pregnant, honey," Lucas replied, hugging his wife from behind. The look on his face was so happy, Clarie caught it.

"Are you ready to be a dad, honey? You have to change his diaper, and pamper him all the time, are you ready for that?" Clarie teased, glancing at her husband in the mirror.

"I've been expecting him for a long time, Clarie. I'm good enough to be called papa..." Lucas chuckled.

"You want to see it in my stomach?" she asked.

"Yeah, let's go to the doctor," Lucas replied.

Clarie was lying on the patient's examination bed, accompanied by Lucas standing beside her, they both stared at the screen that displayed an image of the fetus in Clarie's stomach.

"Congratulations Mrs. and Mr. Henderson, your baby is healthy, and the gestational age has entered 8 weeks, pay attention... here are the eyes, yes, several organs have developed, here are the nose, mouth and ears. They are about 2.5 cm, yes. .. like a strawberry," explained the female doctor.

"Have you had a heartbeat, Doc?" asked Lucas curiously.

"This, it's already beating... the sound is so clear."

There was the sound of a fetal heartbeat, and Lucas and Clarie looked at each other. Soon their small family will be equipped with the baby they are looking forward to, their hopes will come true, live happily together forever.

"Thank you, honey, you have completed my life." Lucas kissed Clarie's forehead full of affection and love.
