Chapter 50

"Who are you? Why do you want to know?" Alex asked back, he was trying to hide his disappointment a while ago.

Daniele chuckled, she covered her mouth. While sending Clarie the tape, she interrogated the man in front of her.

"Please answer, who are you for Marion?"

"None of your business!" Alex got up to leave Daniele.

"Hey, Bro, I can help you get it!" Danny exclaimed when Alex was slowly walking away from him.

"Who are you? Are you an enemy or a friend?" asked Alex as he stopped his steps and turned to Danny.

"Smart, you are critical!" praised Daniele, she smiled as she got up from her seat and approached Alex. Then whispered in the man's ear "I can help you get Marion and also I need your help."

"For?" asked Alex frowning, and a little away from Daniele.

"Let's discuss this in my flat! Do you want one?" Daniele looked at Alex expectantly.

"Why not just here?!"

"It's safer in my flat." Daniele leaned in close to whisper and purposely nudged her nose into Alex's earlobe. "We can relax, don't be too formal, I don't like it."

Alex's chest heaved at Daniele's daring attitude.

Alex considered, thought for a few minutes then agreed to Daniele's offer.

Daniele smiled triumphantly, she packed her luggage, while Alex paid the bill for the food that Marion ordered earlier.

Twenty minutes later they were at Daniele's flat. Alex scanned this not-too-large room, Daniele met him while carrying two cans of softdrinks and a plate filled with chocolate cake.

"So what can you help me with?" asked Alex directly, he is not the type of person who likes small talk.

"You have to help my friend, so you can freely approach Marion," explained Daniele seriously.

"So you're trying to use me?" Alex leaned forward, glaring at Daniele.

"This is not a matter of using or anything else. But, cooperation. We will work together, mutually beneficial," said Daniele justifying.

"What's the benefit of me helping your friend?"

"Yes, that was earlier, you can freely approach Marion. She is pregnant with your child, right?" Daniele raised his eyebrows a second later he normalized again, she spooned the chocolate cake, and shoved it into her mouth.

"So you're one of his enemies? Not his friend?" guessed Alex with narrowed eyes.

"Suit yourself, but I'm a friend of Marion's ex-husband's wife, you understand?" Daniele said casually.

"Well, you set me up."

"Trap what? Isn't this a mutually beneficial partnership?! You can live with Marion who is pregnant with your baby, if Marion agrees you can get married, happy ending. You don't like that? Or do you expect something else?"

"No, I just thought-"

"What are you thinking about? Marion is now my best friend's household bully, and I want to help Clarie to solve her problem. You know my position right now? Everything is clear... I've told you everything."

"Em-I see, well I'll agree to help you..."

Daniele breathed a sigh of relief, finally, God was on the right side.

"So what's the plan?" asked Alex impatiently.

"I see..."

Daniele explained his plan, they discussed to uncover all of Marion's lies, because Alex was sure that the fetus Marion was carrying was his seed, not Lucas or another man.

Clarie was shocked when she hears the recording Daniele sent her. Lucas had exactly asked Clarie to come home that afternoon. Clarie considered this, because the news from Daniele was so important and her mother's insistence on her obeying her husband, Clarie finally decided to come home. She was no longer sullen and angry at her husband, it turned out that Lucas was right, he didn't lie to her and it was Marion who was always looking for trouble with him.

Clarie didn't tell her husband about her plans with Daniele, she waited for the right moment to tell him what she knew. Clarie had forgiven her husband, Lucas promised to share his time and be fairer, in return if one day it was proven that the child in Marion's womb was not her husband's child, Clarie asked that her husband never have anything to do with Marion again, whatever the reason, and Lucas agreed.

After an hour of travel, they finally arrived at their residence. Lucas and Clarie went down, they were exhausted from the trip, Lucas helped carry his wife's suitcase then they entered the house.

The next day Alex insisted on meeting with Marion, because the woman could not contact Lucas so she agreed when Alex said he would visit her. When Alex got there, Marion ordered this and that to the man because her body felt weak and of course she wanted attention.

"Do you still think the fetus I'm carrying is your child?" asked Marion, she sat leaning against her bed, only wearing a tank top and underwear, a thick blanket covering her lower body.

Marion exhaled cigarette smoke into the air, Alex who saw that felt sorry for the baby Marion was carrying, he stood up to Marion. He could not miss a golden opportunity.

"That's my son, right? You don't smoke ... give it to me Marry," said Alex, he tried to snatch the cigarette from Marion's fingers. But, Marion did not want to give it.

"Stop Alex! Why are you setting me up!" snapped Marion, half standing up.

"Love our son, you can't smoke, Mary!" shouted Alex not letting Marry do as she pleased.

Marion's hand moved to and fro avoiding Alex's hand that wanted to take a cigarette from her.

"You have no right to ban me! You are nobody!" she shouted. However, with a quick movement, Alex managed to forcefully snatch the cigarette from Marry's hand with his strength, until his fingernails scratched Marion's hand.

"Aw! Why are you rude, Lex!" shrieked Marion, she sat back down on her bed, shedding tears.

Alex apologized, took a tissue from his trouser pocket and wiped off the blood dripping from Marion's hand.

"I'm sorry, Marry... I didn't do it on purpose, I'm sorry," Alex said impatiently, he pressed rather hard to stop the blood from flowing.

"Go away! I don't want to see your face again!" dismissed Marion, pointing towards the door.

"I'm sorry, Marry, I really didn't mean it, I forgot to cut my nails," said Alex.

"Go!!" shrieked Marion angrily.

Alex then walked away from there, pocketing the tissue from Marion's blood. He then went to the hospital where his friend worked. He had something important to do.

The next day Clarie was contacted by Daniele, the girl said that it was time to tell Lucas everything, exposing the lie that Marion had created.

Clarie was very grateful to her best friend and Alex for agreeing to help her. The three of them agreed to meet at a cafe. When the three of them got together they worked out a mature plan, then Clarie contacted Marion, inviting her over.

"Do you have time? I want to talk to you privately," Clarie said when Marion picked up her call.

"What else, bitch?" sneered Marion, chuckling, as if she were the victim.

Clarie's teeth were chattering with anger, she clenched her fists ... but she had to be patient because everything would be revealed soon, Clarie took a deep breath and then revealed her reasons for inviting Marion to meet.

"I just wanted to say something important, I wish you would come" Clarie pleaded dryly.

Marion sighed. "I can not!" Marion refused directly arrogantly.

"Why? Are you scared?!" challenged Clarie, deliberately antagonizing Marion.

"Scared? With you? Hahaha...Not wrong? Are you healthy? You better get yourself checked by a doctor, lest you're crazy, you've snatched someone's husband... plus you're crazy, you're crazy, can't take Lucas completely away from me ?!" Marion sneered.

"You should be scared now Mary, because I won't let Lucas come to you!"

"Do it if you can!" challenge Marion.

"Fine... don't expect Lucas to see you again if you don't want to come!" Clarie threatened, a corner of her lips turning up.

"What do you mean, bitch? You intend to separate the son and the father?"

"Child? Hahaha you think I don't know ... if you deliberately frame Lucas by saying that what you are carrying is his child even though it is Alex's child?!"
