Chapter 42
Marion and Lucas were in the examining room, they both visited a hospital they had never been to before. Lucas confirmed to the female doctor whether she knew Marion. However, the answer was no, he only knew that Marion was a model, nothing more. The hospital was quite far from where they lived, so Marion might not be in cahoots with her.
"The fetus is 8 weeks pregnant," said the female doctor while moving the transducer to Marion's stomach skin which had been smeared with gel. Marion smiled happily, she finally tested positive for pregnancy, that was what Lucas wanted first.
"Is she really pregnant, Doc? Or is she just pretending?" asked Lucas to make sure.
"Yes, she's really pregnant, look... This embryo has begun to form, these are eyes... this is the nose, this is the mouth, these are arms and legs," explained the doctor with a bright smile.
"Do you think the doctor knows what gender it is?" asked Marion excitedly.
"Not yet, we can't see it yet. Check it every month, you can see the sex when you are 6-7 months pregnant, take care of your health, don't stress okay." Marion nodded, and the nurse cleaned the gel off Marion's stomach while Lucas sat down in the chair opposite the doctor.
"Is she really pregnant, Doc?" Lucas asked again, in disbelief. Marion then followed the doctor and Lucas, sat next to Lucas, Marion grabbed Lucas' right hand but he brushed it off.
"That's right, Mrs. Larsen is pregnant. Why are you so surprised? Excuse me, are you not husband and wife?" asked the doctor.
"We-" Marion replied but Lucas cut her off.
"No, we divorced three months ago," Lucas interrupted, glaring at Marion.
"Ooh, sorry," replied the female doctor, she handed over a prescription for Marion's womb to be strong and healthy.
"Thanks, Doc," Marion said before he and Lucas left there.
As they left the examining room and walked down the halls of the hospital Lucas couldn't think straight, he was glad it was really his child, since Clarie wasn't pregnant either. However, they had separated and the situation was really bad because it was his fault that time he indulged Marion to make love.
"How did you get pregnant? Even though you're always on your guard," Lucas said, stopping and looking at his ex-wife. "I told you I don't love you anymore, are you doing this on purpose?" he probed.
Marion flashed a victorious smile, Lucas had fallen into her trap. "You really want a child from me, after all your wife definitely can't give you children right?" guessed Marion's origin, provoking Lucas' anger.
Her ex-husband could only take a deep breath. "That was before! Now when I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore you are pregnant, do you want us to be together again?"
Marion shook her head immediately. "No, I don't want to ruin your marriage," Marion replied, she walked slowly leaving Lucas.
"So what?!" Lucas caught up behind Marion.
"Nothing, I just want your time while I'm pregnant, because I get nauseous and throw up all the time."
"I can't, I have my own life."
"So you want to run from responsibility?" Marion demanded to stop walking until Lucas bumped into her.
"No-no," Lucas replied, he was so confused his head was about to explode.
"I only asked for a little of your time but you refused, you want your beloved wife to know? Do you want her to divorce you?"
"Alright, let's talk outside, here a lot of people are afraid of paparazzi," Lucas said, tugging at Marion's arm.
They then went to a cafe, and talked there, choosing the farthest place to avoid the paparazzi.
"You said you told me to be there all the time to be with you right?" Lucas asked wanting a clear explanation.
"Um-actually yes, but since you already have a wife, I'll just ask for your time on the weekends," Marion said casually, shoving her cheesecake into her mouth with a small spoon. A second later a man passed beside them.
"You're making things difficult for me again, Marry. Can't you-" Marion raised one hand up telling Lucas to be quiet, two seconds later Marion ran while covering her mouth, Lucas followed her, it turned out she was going to the toilet.
"Is she sick? Worried me," Lucas muttered, standing and waiting for Marion to come out of the women's restroom.
Three minutes later Lucas' cell phone rang, he immediately took his cell phone and picked up the call. "Ah, Clarie."
"What is it, honey?" Lucas asked trying to be calm so that Clarie would not suspect anything.
"Would you be home sooner, honey?" asked Clarie.
"Probably not, honey, I have an appointment tonight with an important client."
"Is it true?" Clarie asked, her voice sounding disappointed.
"Yes, honey, I'm sorry, tomorrow I'll be home early, I promise," Lucas said, trying to comfort Clarie.
"Yeah, fine. Good luck."
"Thank you darling."
Clarie cut the phone line, Lucas felt guilty for lying to Clarie, but he also didn't have the heart to let Marion go anywhere.
Marion appeared and she looked pale white, Lucas put his phone away and asked.
"Are you sick, Mary? You seemed all right earlier?" asked Lucas, really worried.
"Don't be so pretentious Luke. I'm here because I'm pregnant with your child, it's a sin for you to abandon us." Marion took a step slowly leaving the man, Lucas wanted to help but was brushed aside harshly. But, a moment later Marion fainted.
Lucas immediately picked up Marion's body and took her to his car. "Are you sick or pregnant?! Makes me confused Marry!"

Since that incident, Lucas has become Marion's full attention and like a standby husband, the woman has taken advantage of her pregnancy to take up Lucas' time. Asks for whatever he wants under the pretext of cravings. For this weekend, he couldn't accompany Clarie who wanted to have dinner at a restaurant because Marion asked Lucas to come to the house. Asked the man to bring her snacks and all sorts of chocolates for her to consume.
"Are you craving or in a trance?" Lucas asked looking at Marion who was very greedy eating chocolate, the pile of various kinds of chocolate on the table in front of them had almost half eaten.
"It's so delicious, Luke. You don't feel it that's why you're babbling all the time," Marion replied, not caring about Lucas who was looking at her in surprise. "You should be happy I was able to carry your baby."
Lucas leaned back against the back of the sofa, folding his arms for a pillow. "I'm not sure it's my son," Lucas said.
"So what do you want, want to just leave?" Marion demanded sharply.
On the other hand, Clarie was very disappointed with Lucas' changes, he had no more time for her on weekends, even though weekends were the day she had been waiting to be alone with Lucas, but in fact that had not happened in the last few weeks. Clarie suspects that Lucas is behind it.
"Hello Danny?" said Clarie when Daniele picked up the phone.
"You called, what's wrong, Clarie?" asked Daniele directly.
"I'm lonely Danni, can we meet?"
