CHAPTER EIGHTY NINE

Axle stared at me, his eyes flashing between blue and gold, his eyebrows raised as he looked from me to himself, adjusting slightly into a more comfortable position and waiting silently for me.

Morning came too soon, and I groaned as I stopped the alarm clock. I looked over at Lexi sleeping peacefully in my arms, and I pecked her on the forehead.

Some hours later, the plane touched down, and I was happy because I would be reunited with my baby once again.
"Lexi," I called out to her as she stepped off the plane, she came running to me and I caught her in my arms.
I hugged her and sniffed her, I wanted to take in her delicious scent, but something was wrong.
Her scent had changed, and when I turned her to face me, a black mark had appeared on her neck.
